Welcome welcome welcome to my first PTR. I have been a long time trip report/pre-trip report reader and with a trip in the making I figured why dont I write one of my own. My family will be traveling the world (Walt Disney World that is) for two weeks in June of 2014. Its still a long time away but anticipation has already started building with various countdowns, ADR suggestions, and constantly recalling Disney memories.
Let me introduce myself. My name is Heather, I am 19 years old and am starting my second year of college studying for a degree in early childhood education. I was born into a Disney loving family, and have loved Disney for as long as I can remember. Sure, favorites have changed, and Ive become more interested in Walts life and the little details hidden in the park. But the thing that hasnt changed is that I love Disney. Its what keeps me happy. Anyway, Im rambling.
Let me introduce the crew (pictures compliments of our Royal Caribbean cruise.)
This is me,

Favorite character: Chip and Dale, but theres a special place for Venellope Von Schweetz
Favorite Movie: Mulan (for the moment).
Favorite Park: Magic Kingdom
Favorite Attraction: Peter Pans Flight (dont get me wrong, I love thrill rides, but this one just represents Disney to me.)
Favorite restaurant: Ohana

Next, my sweet as can be little sister Rebecca with a huge imagination, shes nine years old, and a fourth grader.

Favorite Character: Silvermist, and all of the other fairies.
Favorite Movie: Aristocats
Favorite Park: Magic Kingdom
Favorite Attraction: Peter Pans Flight
Favorite restaurant: Crystal Palace

One of the two of us.

Next up my big brother Caleb, 22 years old, a college graduate working at a four star hotel and a DCP alumni. Hes Lilac Iris on the DIS well see if he joins in. He,s also hoping his girlfriend Lauren will be able to join us so she can understand why Disney is so special to us.

Favorite Character: Donald Duck
Favorite Movie: Muppet Treasure Island
Favorite Park: Epcot
Favorite Attraction: Tomorrowland Transit Authority, Carousel of Progress, and Spaceship Earth.
Favorite Restaurant: Sanaa, with Citricos at a close second

And then my last sibling, this is my little brother Nicholas. Hes 13 years old, and a huge Washington Redskins fan.

Favorite Character: Stitch
Favorite Movie: Star Wars episode 6
Favorite Park: Epcot
Favorite Attraction: Test Track and Space Mountain
Favorite Restaurant: Biergarten

And the two boys.

And now for my parents, my beautiful mother, our prime Disney planner who has fully instilled the magic of Disney into each of her childrens hearts.

Favorite Character: Mickey Mouse with Minnie at close second.
Favorite Movie: Cinderella
Favorite Park: Magic Kingdom
Favorite Attraction: Tomorrowland Transit Authority and Peter Pans flight (clearly her favorites have rubbed off on us).
Favorite Restaurant: Liberty Tree

Last but certainly not least my dad. The only non-Disney fanatic member of our family. He likes WDW because he likes to see us having fun.

Favorite Character: Rolly (the dalmation)
Favorite Movie: Oh Brother Where Art Thou?
Favorite Park: Animal Kingdom (after I told him River Country didnt count).
Favorite Ride: 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea (he says they take away everything he loves).
Favorite Restaurant: San Angelo Inn

And the two of them

Finally here is one of the whole family.

As a professional DISboards lurker I know how easy it is to stay quiet. But please let me know youre there and join me as we complete or Disney wardrobes, make reservations, and countdown to our journey to the most magical place on earth.

Lilac iris popping in here, I'm her brother, the dashing rouge with the coconut.

300 days away and already excitement runs high for the family. Rides are remembered as memory from trips past get brought out with the photo albums. Clothing in the drawers are looked at as possible "Disney wear", menus are looked over to see if they have changed, and what might sound good after a morning in the parks.

Disney is a place where so many memories are forged, where any girl can be a princess and any boy a prince. Where no matter how old you are you are still a kid if you want to be. A place where.... Okay, I think I'm just quoting a commercial now....

Anyways, I'm sure I'll be here on the thread popping in, so long as heather lets me :)

Welcome welcome! I'm not so sure about that dashing part though...
I read this to dad he said "oh my goodness! It's an amusement park." Wrong! It's so much more! Also, we're 305 days away.

King's island is an amusement park, six flags is an amusement park.

Disney is..... Disney..... It's so very much more. It the smell as sounds of Main Street, it's seeing an armadillo as you walk to the bathroom in te morning at fort wilderness. It's watching illumination 250+ times ( did a college program as a custodian in the world showcase) to the point where you know every single firework and if one is a fraction off it's timing, but still you want to see it again and again. Disney is the reason I tear up writing these things.....

Disney isn't an amusement park, it's a state of mind.

Welcome to the party Cinderella, I see your avatar pic, and it seems to be lacking a severe amount of Fluttershy ;)

Hi Heather! I'm subbing. I have a feeling we don't live far from each other! Looking forward to your pretrip report.

Our Fort Wilderness reservations were made on the 401 day mark, (I know this isn't a monumental number, but I remember it :goodvibes) My mom had told me she was going to call that day so the entire day was spent...hinting, not so subtly  "Mom have you called yet?" "When are you calling Disney?" "Can I call for you?" "Mom, can we call now?" oops. Finally my mom was going to call when my dad said "I'll can call." okay!

My dad made his call to Disney and talked to a woman who I believe was named Mandy. After he made his way through the recordings listing name, phone number, etc. he put it on speaker, probably for my sake. Their conversation started out "Do I have the pleasure of speaking to Kevin today?" "If it's a pleasure..." He proceeded through the reservation process booking a site for four adults and two kids with a request for either loop one or two. They then got to "okay, let me get the names of the people on the site, the first adult is..." My dad proceeded through giving his name, then my mom's, and then my brother's. She got to "Okay, and then the fourth adult" I couldn't help it I was going back to Disney World, it's been two years and I want to go back. I jumped up and down and said in complete excitement "that's me! that's me!" my mom laughed at me. I was later asked "Are you going to keep this excitement up for 400 more days?" "yes!"

I spent the rest of the day in a great mood setting up my ticker and a countdown on my iPod and just dreaming of Disney. We were going back, and now I had a trip to count down to.

I'm in for your PTR! We're going in January (check out my PTR if you have time) so I'm glad to find someone else going in 2014!
