I've definitely stopped listening to WDW Today for good now. The Testas from Unofficial Guide were on today and spent the entire show talking about how they inconvenience WDW guests while they're in the park, messing up family photos and sending guests into wrong directions if they ask for help. They're a little bit full of themselves.

Thanks goodness I stumbled upon tourguidemike, after being an UG user for practically a decade. I won't be going back to UG.

If you have tgm, there's quite a few subscribers upset on the Itinerary discussion board. I hope the Testas are reading.

Yeah, I listened to it too. She definitely lacks class that's for sure.

Honestly, the more I think about it, the more it bugs me. I would now have a trust issue with these people. If they would intentionally mislead people in the parks I don't think I can trust their publications anymore. Maybe that isn't fair but so be it.

Yet another good reason to buy a passporter instead of the UG. I was never much of a fan anyway.

OK, I'm nosey, and totally confused... What happened? I'm assuming WDW Today is some type of radio show, never heard of it. Who is Testras? And what did they say? I've used UG for years, last visit I also used TGM, just wondering what was going on. Thanks for filling me in! :teeth:

I'm curious about what happened also, could you elaborate?

Its on ITUNES, its a podcast.

I am listening, I think she is being sarcastic. It is actually really funny.

So how about sharing the info? What is going on? Curiosity killed the cat, I know, but what can I say, I have 3 cats!

Go to wdwtoday(dot)com and look on the left hand side. Episode 72 with Christine testa. click that link, you will hear a 5 minute podcast on your computer (make sure your volume is turned on)

They may say it was a joke, but Ms. Testa gives examples how she has specifically misinformed or misdirected the average joe in the theme parks.

Actually, it is 18 agonizing minutes long. What were they thinking? That it would boost sales? :rotfl2:

I know (from reading my UG only) that Len Testa is some kind of math whiz who helps figure out crowds (and avoiding them) at WDW. They talk about algorhythms (sp?) and stuff, so they obviously know more than I do.

My guess is that Christine is his wife...?

I didn't hear the podcast, but my guess is that it was a joke. The UG staff is funny sometimes.

I like the UG and the jokes.

To me the problem with the UG is that you have to be a fan of sarcasm to get their humor/message sometimes. It certainly gives a lot of information but I like TGM's format and friendly attitude. He certainly tells it like it is without all the sarcasm. As for Chrstina's podcast it is pretty immature and certainly not the slightest bit helpful or informative. I like Passporter but since I got TGM, I just stick with that. The money back guarantee alone is worth it to me.

Disneydreamer315... Thanks for the info. I listened to it, all 18 minutes. That's what I get for being nosey.

I am hoping it was just a poor attempt at humor. Christina reminded me of high school, a long time ago, when we sold underground swimming pool passes and elevator passes to the freshmen. Thought it was really funny then (35 years ago). Found the broadcast less funny today.

If she actually gives people mis-directions, well, she doesn't work for WDW. It certainly isn't nice. Her making an alarm sound when people use flash photography when they have been asked not to? Made me smile and I may try using that in the future. Her comment about the sound that the "cripple thing" on the busses makes... that was rude. If she hasn't learned the word disabled maybe someone could educate her.

All in all, I'm sorry I listened to it. I have always liked UG, enjoyed the humor, but Christina leaves a bad taste in my mouth. I'm not sure I would want to take advice from someone so cynical.

Thanks for satisfying my curiosity!

Here are some of things that she says she does while collecting data at the parks.

1. Tells people about hidden Mickeys that aren't really there and watches people look for them in vain.

2. Gives wrong directions to foreign tour groups (she mentioned Brazilians).

3. Makes an annoying fake alarm noise when someone takes a flash photo on a ride where you shouldn't do that. She said that she wants to learn how to say, "No flashes, dumba$$ in multiple languages."

4. Intentionally walks in between people who are holding hands when she is sweaty.

5. Looks for sexual references on rides, especially Pooh and Splash.

6. Referred to "crippled people" when making the sound that the bus makes when loading a wheelchair.

7. Intentionally gets in otheres' photos.

That is so rude. I'm very disturbed by her behavior. Surely, they all aren't like this are they? I really like my UG book but if this is the way the people act I will not buy another one. Yuck!

you people need to lighten up serisouly... This girl is hilarious.. She was brought back to the show by popular demand so obvisouly alot of people wanted her back.. I enjoy WDW PODCAST alot and I will definately continue listening to it.. :thumbsup2

I think all of those things are really rude and immature. That is just mho though. And calling some crippled is never humorous even in a joke. Sounds like she needs to grow up!! I hope she loses some business from her rude and infantile actions. I for one am a TA and I would never recommend her book after this!!!! Maybe I do need to lighten up but like I said it is my Opinion and I am entilted to it.

She may have just been joking around. I know my brother and I would certainly come up with ideas like her's. We may joke about it while waiting in line, but we wouldn't act on it.
