Alrighty folks, I took my fabulous DCL Wonder cruise friom 8/21-8/24 and have posted a trip report on the regular trip report board, that I'm not done with yet, since I did Disney first. I had SUCH a great time on my DCL trip that I figured I MUST post here as well but it'll be a copy and paste. I will absomolutley respond to you all so please post away. This was our first Disney cruise (or any cruise for that matter) and we loved it.

I am a Leyla, a 36 year old Mom of 2 but 3 if you inlcude my dh Pierre. Sometimes I do. It just depends..... My husband is 43 and herer's a pic of us together taken at AKL which is where we stayed for the first few days before our Wonder cruise!

Our kids are Bella, 8 and Cooper, 5. She's a wicked tomboy and he's my loveydove

I hope you'll all read along cause I've had a blast writing it (and my last one)for the regular boards but decidied to share for the cruise boards too! I poured over just about all the trip reports for DCL since we had planned on oing last year but got free dining instead so ditched the cruise. Still haven't decided what to do for next year as we want to meet up with my cousin who lives in England and it will be our 10 year anniversary but we'll see!

CA-RUISE DAY!!!!!!!

When I woke up in the morning I had loads of organizing to do. Pierre had done all the laundry so I realized how much I overpacked as usual!! Once I got it all done I ran down to Mara for some coffee and got everyone else up and organized. We hit the lobby by about 8 am and I walked past the DCL desk so I could ask what the weather in the Carib was like. The woman was talking to a lady and saying something about Fort Lauderdale. Well, who cares about Fort Lauderdale, I’s going to Port Canaveral for a Disney cruise so she didn’t matter!

I waited my turn, kinda, I heard her saying that Port Canaveral was closed so at that point I butt in. “Say what, girlfriend???!!!” She informed me that was true and we’d be shuttled to F.L. but wasn’t sure if we’d have to pay for that or not. Um, as far as I’m concerned I’m not payin’ for anything like that cause I didn’t ask for PC to BE closed! I already had a rental car booked because I thought the DCL transport was too expensive PLUS we were staying at the Nick Hotel for a night so….I also wanted to make sure that we’d still be going to Nassau and Castaway Cay since I had excursions booked on both. She made a quick call and said we didn’t have to pay for the bus transport. Phew! Do you guys know it’s a 4 hour bus ride???!!! I was definetely not looking forward to that!

We went outside to the bus pickup and checked in. After we waited about 20 mins or so, and hummed and hawed I went to the checkin’ counter and asked where our ME shuttle was. “Uh, what shuttle” the lady says. “Uh, the shuttle we are supposed to be on?” I really don’t know what went wrong but they ended up calling a taxi for us and paid for it, thankfully cause I was about 2 seconds away from the Ghetto. Remember that? Ecogirl came over to smooth things out after my hissy fit.

IMG_0849-1.jpg

We finally got into our taxi and dropped Ecogirl off at MCO first. Big hugs all around, I knew she’d be back at Thanksgiving which wasn’t too far off.

Off to find the car rental place. Our driver got totally lost and I was getting pretty miffed about it. Shocker. It took everything I had not to flip out on the poor guy and I was SO relieved when he called his home base to get directions. I cannot recall the car rental company’s name but it was not on the airport grounds. I got a cheap QUOTE (key word) online so I went for it. We finally came across it and he pulled in to drop us off. I was still in a mood and stressed about having to take a bus.

The lady at the rental place was trying to get me to upgrade. For what? I was leaving the car in a parking lot for 4 days! Then she was trying to tell me that the car only had room for 2 suitcases. Well I wasn’t renting a Smart car or a Mini so I knew she was lying and I really didn’t have the patience. Then she starting going on about the rain in Port Canaveral , blah, blah, blah. Oh. Em. Gee. Give me the dang car. Finally she said she’d upgrade me for free. Then it was the insurance. I agreed to it so I could just get out. I tossed the keys to Pierre so he could get it and put the cases in while I signed the paperwork.

I felt like I was off to a bad start and wasn’t happy about it. I jumped in the car and saw Cooper was crying. Apparently Pierre didn’t wait for his whole body to be in the car and pulled forward Thankfully Cooper was okay and Pierre was nearly crying himself. Could things get any worse???!!! ARRRGGGGG!!!!!!! I really needed to just look out the window, grit my teeth and regroup my brain.

At least we found Port Canaveral easily! Hopefully that was a sign things were looking up! They also let us check the bags at the curb and we went in the building.

IMG_0852.jpg

Everyone was given a bus ticket and we had plenty of time to check in before our bus would be called. Now, are these some happy kids or what?!

The famous Ears I wish we were going through

IMG_0855.jpg

While we were waiting in line my sister called to let the kids know what teachers they got. They had been posted on the school door while we were gone and the kids were dying to know who they got. Bella didn’t get who she wanted (she got a new teacher who she absolutely loves now BTW) and one of her two bf was in a different class so she was a little bummed but got over it quickly. Check-in was fast and I was so excited to get my KTTW card then our bus was called. Woohoo!!!!!!!

They handed us each a little snack bag with 1 drink and a pack of crackers. Um, were they kidding? I was also bummed we didn’t get on one of the Disney Cruise Line buses, we got generic bus that didn’t play any movies the whole 4 hour ride. Good thing Pierre bought a real drink when we stopped or I’d be really mad. The drive actually went by fairly quickly, I had my Ipod and a book, the kids both had coloring books and there was a baby in front of me and Cooper. He kept tickling her and she was giggling so that made them both happy. As we neared Fort Lauderdale the gray clouds were disappearing and the sun was making an appearance. YAY!!! We pulled into the lot, got through security and saw this!

IMG_0858.jpg

My smile was huge, how could it not be? We ran up the plank

IMG_0859.jpg

and they asked our name to announce our arrival. How cool is that?! We were given directions to our room- 7001

IMG_0860.jpg

Of course the kids were completely out of their minds with excitement and inspecting each and every little thing. Mostly the life vests which were deemed the greatest thing ever. Pierre looks happy!

IMG_0861.jpg

I got a few things put away and we decided to go up to the Sailaway Party- no WAY was I missing that! Or my first Bahama Mama. We met our room attendant on our way upstairs, nice guy.We got up to the 9th floor, grabbed some streamers and made sure we were at the front of the ropes. Pierre went off to get our drinks and the kids bounced all over the place.

One last picture before I sign off. Do they look psyched or what!

I'm glad you finally made it to the ship!! Love the pictures. I would have been bummed about being on a generic bus too.

Welcome and thanks!!!!! Yeah, a bit dramatic getting there but worth the hassle! :goodvibes Keep on reading!

Isn’t this screen fabulous? There was no glare from the sun either so you got a really good picture from anywhere. I could even see Toy Story playing when we were walking back to the boat one day, how cool is that?!

IMG_0863.jpg

As I said before the kids were freaking out with excitement and I was ready to get this party started. I guzzled my Bahama Mama and Pierre was back in 2 seconds flat with another one. He was more determined then I was to get me outta my funk! Oh, I forgot to mention that I was paranoid about getting seasick especially since I wasn’t sure what the weather was going to do. I took Bonine, Dramamine, and these homoeopathic drops that go behind your ear. Bring it ON!!! The sun was out, ahhhh, now THIS is what I needed!

Another shot of the ship. I didn’t move much when we got to the party cause I’m all about being in the front.

IMG_0864.jpg

The music started about 4 pm and the ship’s crew came out one by one doing their thing. I thought one guy was going to spontaneously combust he had so much energy. Please boyfriend, tone it down like 30 notches! Rachel “youcancallmeJulie haha” was the cruise director but I don’t remember the other people’s names. They were panning the crowd with the camera and I saw us on the Dumbo Tron (or is it Ariel View?) We’re in the bottom left corner and you can see me taking the picture

IMG_0865.jpg

Mickey and his peeps all came out and the crowd went crazy! I only got a shot of Mickey but they all looked snazzy in their Shipboard uniforms.

IMG_0866.jpg

Bella and Cooper were loving it all. Or maybe just Bella

IMG_0867.jpg

I think Cooper was having a hissy fit about not having been in the pool yet. He had scoped out the Mickey Pool with Pierre and having just learned how to swim it was his top priority. STAT. I think the show was about 30 minutes and I told Pierre to let them take a quick dip or they would drive us bonkers until dinner. We had an early seating so that gave us time although I was dying to check out the boat. I was in love with the classic old style of everything and the workers REALLY work hard on it. I constantly saw someone doing paint touchups on non-existant chips and shining up the gleaming brass. Such a pretty boat! We headed back to the room to let the kids put on their suits and passed by the Elemis Spa. I could not WAIT for our treatments there!

IMG_0877.jpg

We had a category 10 room and I have say it was pretty roomy. I wasn’t sure at all what to expect especially with the split bathrooms but I was happy with it. The H2O products are AMAZING. I HAVE to get myself some of the shampoo and conditioner as well as the shea butter lotion. The hair stuff is more for dry hair but I guess they take into account the sun, chlorine and salt so it all works out. The hairdryer wasn’t bad either and I have really long hair so don’t bother bringing one with you. Being a hairdresser you can trust me on those 2 counts! I used the tip about an over the door shoe hanger to put stuff in and it was great. There is little counter space and if you have a bunch of stuff it can get crowded. I don’t have too much but wanted to put first aid type stuff and other things we would need to find quickly in there. The steamer trunk at the bottom of the bed was big enough to fit all of our cases.

Off to the pool! Need I say more?

IMG_0868.jpg

Who’s a happy boy then? Bella was up and down the slide a million times, as usual. I think we stayed about half an hour, enough to make us all happy. I was totally wiped out and felt crummy. Between waking up early, all the drama of the morning, Ecogirl leaving, it left me crapped out but I was going to make it to dinner. We were eating at Triton’s that night and I was looking forward to it. I was also anxious to meet our tablemates and see what they were like. And see if they could deal with our kids less than good table manners. Back to the room, we used the stairs just about the whole time, you can get a pretty good workout and Bella informed me that if I didn’t use the elevator I wouldn’t have to go to the gym. We got freshened up and just before 6 headed over to Tritons.

We were seated fairly close to the door, table 3 if I remember right. And a crying baby. Ughhhh, not good. Our waiter was very nice and really made an effort to make us feel welcome. Lookin’ up! He even wheeled the crying baby around, not quite to the other side of the dining room but it settled him down a bit so that was cool. We ordered some drinks, I got a Pomegranite Martini and Pierre got a Jack and Coke. Good, good! After checking out the menu I decided on the shrimp medley and a salad with goat cheese (my fav!) and croutons. They were both really good and I loved the croutons! I don’t know how they were made but they were fab! Pierre got the same salad and steak, he enjoyed it as well. Me and my girl!

IMG_0869.jpg

The kids needed to use the restroom and we found a Hidden Mickey on the way

IMG_0870.jpg

I had been on the thread for our cruise and enjoyed chatting with the people on there. We had planned to meet in the Promenade Lounge at 3 pm arrival day but that obviously didn’t happen because of the delays we all had I was bummed but just as we walked into the restroom I heard someone shout out my name. It caught me off guard for a second but she said her name and she was from the cruise thread. It was Sue (Postalcop) HI SUE!!!!!!!! She had only JUST gotten on the boat, believe it or not. We chatted for a few and I was so glad she spotted me, actually I think she told me she saw Bella and Cooper first. Anyways, she was very energetic and friendly and I’m happy she caught us!

Back to the table and just after I sat down our tablemates were being led over. I can’t remember their names, so lets call them Mr Annoying and Mrs Snotty. Good start- eh? They were kind of overbearing and braggy. “Well, WE’RE member of the Disney Vacation Club.” “Well, WE stayed at Old Key West.” Well, WE didn’t like Animal Kingdom Lodge when we stayed there so WE got half off this cruise” We this, we that.

Um. Are. You. Kidding. Me?

Luckily Pierre can pretty much chat with anyone and I had a couple of drinks in me so I behaved and didn’t tell ‘em what I REALLY thought of them. Besides, Bella talked their ear off. She has a habit doing that but at least she can carry on a decent, mature conversation with an adult. They also had 8 year old daughter and a 5 year old son so that’s why we were seated together.

Onto dessert! I had some Pistachio Ice Cream concoction that was totally good and Pierre had an Irish Coffee, can’t mess that one up. We bid farewell to our tablemates and headed to our room for the safety check. The time for our check was 7 pm because of the port change. Mmmm, that just made me realize, I can’t recall what time the heavenly horn blew but we DID hear it! I swear I waited 18 months to listen to that sucker in person so I had a big smile on my face when I finally did. We got our lifevests on and mine seemed a bit snug but oh well, I like things fitted so…. We had SOME walk to our station which I think was F. It was packed outside and I looked at the kids realizing Bella had on an adult lifevest. I looked down at mine and it said childvest. ooooops. We switched and it was much better! You can see it says adult persons

IMG_0874.jpg

Man, were they dying to blow the whistle, pull the cords and do each thing those vests could do! They were good though. After I told them they’d be thrown in the brig…… We headed back to put away the vests and freshen up for the Golden Mickey’s. I had heard a lot about how good these shows were so I had to see them. We were seated in the theater and it started. Unfortunately Cooper and I only made it through a 3rd of the show cause we were tired but what we saw we enjoyed. Especially the Cruella D Evil bit, she was fantastic! Pdog and Bells stayed but we went back to the room. I was about to introduce Cooper to room service. For fun. He wanted a ham sandwich and I got a cookie, I heard a rumor they were good so I had to! We didn’t have to wait too long and it was brought to our room.

IMG_0875.jpg

We ate a little bit and he felt quite fancy having it delivered. Doesn’t take much to please my cutie pie. I could feel us moving but only slightly and it was rather calming. Our room was very quiet and near the elevators- just so you know and are curious to book with DCL.

We hit the sack and didn't even hear Pierre and Bella come in. Apparently after the show they went somewhere and played in some game show. I know, I'm informative there, ain't I? Neither of them are here now for me to ask BUT they had a blast! We had plans in in Nassau for the morning and I shall update again on Wed! Enjoy my good friends!

Hiya, my friend!!!! I spoke to your man thismorning and am going to read hi email next. I'm still totally torn between London/Paris or DCL but we'll see. I want to try for a cat 9 this time and through DCL (with trans and ins.) it was arond $4801 for a 7 day going to Key West, Cozumel, Grand Cayman, CC and maybe 2 sea days. The 3 day was a good intro but you def. need longer! Too bad you couldn;t do the same time as us, I really enjoyed your company :flower3: OH, I got Cooper THE cutest pirate cozzie at Children's Place yesterday for $5!!!!!! He's sweatin' it big time! Anyways, this report is going to be the same as my other one but since it's a cruise report I thought I'd do it here as well. Esp; if we are going to book next year..... :hippie: girlfriend!

Loving this report so far - isn't it just the worst when you get tablemates who are no fun. We had possibly the worst family on our last cruise. For our next, we have linked reservations with friends of ours so there will be 9 of us and we'll hopefully have a table to ourselves.

What a shame about the nightmare journey but great that you finally made it. Can't wait to hear more about your trip :)

Welcome and just so you know I can live on the same diet as you! CADBURY FLAKES, add Milky Bars into the mix then we're REALLY talkin'! My cousin was just visitng from Southampton and brought a whole suitcase of candy for us :cloud9: I'm putting my next installment up in a few mins so staytuned!

Day 5 DCL Bahama Baby!

Shocking as it may be I was the first to wake up. I slept GREAT, the mattress was completely comfortable just like the one in AKL. I have a Tempurpedic mattress at home and Pierre and I both hate it. It causes a lot of our back pain. I wanted to check out the gym since the pics I’ve seen of the fitness center looked really good, coffee was in order as well. I put my gear on and left the room, heading up to the drink machines near Beach Blanket Buffet. Again, the ship employees were out there scrubbing and painting away!

Check out this gorgeous sunrise picture

IMG_0878.jpg

Isn’t that beautiful? I could stare at it forever. This next shot is a bit cloudy but still looks lovely

IMG_0876.jpg

I got my coffee and wandered around for a bit to take it all in. I can’t believe I was finally on the Disney Cruise! I’d waited so long and after a tough family year I really needed it. Pierre and I haven't had a full day together since Jan when he left his job We had different days off and no lie- it was hard! We were used to 3 afternoons a week with NO kids but NOT anymore…..I was looking forward to the kids being in the kids clubs and us spending some much needed time together. The coffee was WONDERUL, I need to find out what kind they use! I headed over to the fitness center and hit an elliptical machine, they are right in the front of the ship, talk about an incredible view! :lovestruc OMG! I just listened to my Ipod and stared outside for about 30 minutes or so. I checked out the locker room area and there were chaise lounges with foot massagers at the base. How cool is that? On my way out I made an herbal tea then got Pierre a coffee then watched us docking at Nassau. Having never been to the Bahamas I was dying to get off the boat and explore.

Back in the room, The rest of the gang were just waking up and excited to get a move on. Or maybe it was my yelling at them, not sure…. :rolleyes1 Anyhoos, I was hungry and wanted to eat at BBB. We also had to be in the Promenade lounge at 10 or so for our Nassau Harbor Tour excursion. I needed to see me some rich people houses and I heard this was the way to do it! I kicked their buns into gear and we headed over to eat.

At the door we were handed wipes, good idea, never hurts to clean up a little more. Each kid got a tray and loaded up on waffles with syrup as well as cinnamon rolls. Can’t go wrong with Mickey head waffles, can ya?! I told them to find a seat and they went outside while I decided what I wanted. Decisions, decisions. I found a table that had muesli, nuts, dried fruit, fresh fruit. Yummers! I got some of that then made a beeline for the whipped cream I had seen earlier. LOOOOOOOVE IT!!!! I parked it outside with the kiddies while Pierre had an omelette made up.

IMG_0879.jpg

The food here is absolutely wonderful! Bella said the cinnamon roll was the best she’d ever had and I can easily say that about the muesli I ate. And the whipped cream. We rolled ourselves outta there and had some time to kill so I suggested we look in the kids clubs since we missed it the night before. We bounded down the stairs and headed over but the doors were still locked so we looked over the railing and saw that Wendy Darling and Peter Pan were out. Now B and C aren’t really into the characters anymore so luckily they didn’t want to go down there BUT they are into pirates and Capt. Hook happened to be on the same level as us. Perfect! There were only a few people ahead of us inline so even better.

Here is that ceiling sculpture we saw while waiting

IMG_0880.jpg

Capt Hook. ARRRGGGHHHH!

IMG_0881.jpg

They loved seeing him! After the picture it was time for the clubs to open and they each wanted to play in there for a bit before we got off the boat. Sweet, me and P will get some free time!

I signed Bella in first and she was on the WII before I left. See ya Bells! Off to Cooper’s club. It was so cute in there and I knew he’d have a blast! He' such a little poser! I heart him!!!!!

IMG_0882.jpg

Since they were both in the kids clubs we decided to hit up the Cove for some liquid refreshments. Surprised? LOL! We waited for the bartender to get there, he was late but very funny and let us know about his boss calling him 10 minutes ago to have a go at him for still sleeeping. Okay, another menu in front of me, too many decisions, whaddaIdo???!!! I let Peeps order for me that’s what! I sat on the edge of the Goofy Pool and dipped my tootsies in, so delish! Peeps came over with a Planter’s Punch and I felt naughty for drinking at 9 am BUT I was on vacay so I be cool…..

Here’s Pdog and the Plantar’s Punch

IMG_0883.jpg

Look at that sky???!!! HEAVENLY!!! Do NOT tell me you don’t want to be there cause I know you are lying if that’s what you say! I didn’t have my suit on but he did so he went for a quick dip in the hot tub, we were the only ones around. I guess everyone else was still sleeping in. If *I* was in their room that wouldn’t be the case. I'm like a Sea Captain ordering everyone around (and wouldn't have let the Titantic sink....) I am WAY too much of an early bird but it has it’s advantages!

IMG_0884.jpg

We didn’t have too long before we needed to collect the kids so Pierre got out and we hit the bar again. This time I got my main cruise booze. I’m sure it won’t surprise you that I don’t remember the name but it was seriously THE bomdiggitybestdrinkeva! I just remembered! It was called the Bushwacker. I was sneaky and asked for a to go cup so I could take it off the boat. The bartender made enough for 1 drink but always gave us the leftovers so we always tipped generously. Especially since I earn tips… I can really appreciate it. I was giggling like a schoolgirl while I double fisted it! Don’t tell on me, LOL!

IMG_0885.jpg

We went to pick up the kiddies for our Nassau Harbor Tour and they loved the clubs! Yes, so happy! It really would have been a drag if they were miserable there. Over to the Promenade lounge and they gave us all name tags for the tour, I was so psyched! We were led off the boat, through the building where we heard some fab Caribbean music, around the dock and onto the tour boat.

We were led past the DCL boat

IMG_0887.jpg

Seriously, I had to beg for several minutes to get this pic but it was worth it, Bella is VERY EEEEWWWWW gross, do I hafta stand next to him??!! Nuisance!

IMG_0889.jpg

Our guide led us past the boat and all the houses along the bay. We past Tom Cruise’s, the guy who owns Starbucks, Mick Jagger’s joint, Chuck Norris’ kung foo spot and the Island that the Blue Lagoon was filmed on. These are all pics from the tour but I don’t recall what belongs to who. It was a fun tour and I think it was $25 per adult and $14 per kid. If you sweat the celebs like I do, it’s worth it otherwise you might want to pass. I didn’t want to spend all the money to go to Atlantis.

IMG_0891.jpg

IMG_0892.jpg

IMG_0894.jpg

IMG_0895.jpg

This was the Blue Lagoon Island, I LOVED that movie when I was young!

IMG_0896.jpg

Our guide pointed out Anna Nicole’s house too but I’m not sure which one it is. The kids must have been driving me bananas cause I wrote that in my notes but my memory fails to say what it was exactly. 5 and 8 year olds can do that to you….

We returned to the dock, got off the boat and went through the straw market. I saw a purse I really liked so made a note of where to return. We had no cash and had to find an ATM and on the way we hit up the packy to cut down on our DCL cost. The kids grabbed some drinks too, don’t worry, although it looks suspicious in the brown bags it really is soda!

IMG_0897.jpg

Bella declared the people of Nassau to be rude, in a Stephanie Tanner kind of way. She didn’t like all the haggling and pushiness and wanted to get back on the boat and go to the kids club. Peace out dudes! Fine with me, Pierre and I decided to take them back so we could go into Nassau by ourselves. Too be quite honest I wasn’t comfortable having them around that action anyways. Little scary…… We got a conch shell for $4 on the way, smggle our 3 bottles of vodka in a bag and headed up to the boat for a bit, before hitting up the Bahamas again!

More later folks!!!!!

yeah i don't know what i would do about you vaca. delemia?? i know dh would love to go to Paris, and HE would choose Paris, it would be ME that wouldnt know what to do, either.but we already decided to wait till the kiddies get older!
if you do decide to go on the cruise def. let me know when, ( we are not set on a date, not yet anyway, we are still trying to figure out what we are doing for 2009, but 2010 is def. a cruise!, i enjoyed you company, too, and i think it would be great if we could meet up again!! besides i owe Pierre a drink, anyway. LOL!) the quote for $ 4801 was that for a window view, for 7 days??? what month??? that is an awsome price. it's about $300 more than what cruise value quoted me for the 5 day- cat. 9 window. and you would be going to Key West, thats was why i chose the 8/17 date.oh by the way how was your quote by Howy????
well i hope you get back on the computer today, i see you were already on. i am dying to know what month the quote was for??? !! :surfweb: -(that will be me later!! waiting!!! lol)

Darlin' you is ma gurrl!!! My cuz was testing her dh back in England while he was here and he said it was bitterly cold. What part of the UK are you from? I am a Southampton girl till I was 5 then moved sttesside but also lived in High Wycombe from 16-20. I miss it but my nephew could get over the size of our house and yard (he recons it's like a park :lmao: )

hey!
yeah i don't know what i would do about you vaca. delemia?? i know dh would love to go to Paris, and HE would choose Paris, it would be ME that wouldnt know what to do, either.but we already decided to wait till the kiddies get older!
if you do decide to go on the cruise def. let me know when, ( we are not set on a date, not yet anyway, we are still trying to figure out what we are doing for 2009, but 2010 is def. a cruise!, i enjoyed you company, too, and i think it would be great if we could meet up again!! besides i owe Pierre a drink, anyway.
!! :surfweb: -(that will be me later!! waiting!!! lol)
~Sue

I got a fabulous quote from Howy $4200 for a 7 dayer (cat 9) Aug 22-29 09, 100 OBC PLUS $200 Disney Visa, free insurance, etc. THEN I got another email from him late last night saying the company went bust :scared1:  Now I don't know what to do...... SO bummed. Any other ideas? I want a cheapie darnit!!!!!!!! I have SO much going through my head and Pierre it telling me not to concentrate on a vacay. Whatevs, dude!

Oh my God, how spooky - although I live in Wiltshire now all my Mum's side of the family come from Buckinghamshire (Wendover). I worked in High Wycombe for a while when I wa younger.

It is cold here at the moment - I much prefer a warmer climate.

We got back on the fabulous Wonder and decided to head back to BBB for lunch before we hit the pool for a dip and took the kids to the clubs. A quick trip to the room so we could freshen up and put our suits on then off to eat!

At BBB our hands were wiped off again and got in line for some chow. Bella and Cooper love chicken tenders and fries so they got plenty of those and I loaded up on crab legs and a salad. We sat inside this time and the food was great again. Bella said the chicken was the BEST she had ever had. She’s a pretty picky eater and doesn’t make that kind of declaration often so I figured she was serious. I enjoyed my crab legs and was breaking them open to eat the meat. THAT did not end so well, I cut myself pretty badly on a claw and it took a while to stop bleeding. I get cut occasionally at work so it wasn’t a big deal but it seemed to take forever to stop bleeding. Luckily I had bandaids with me and disposed of my own paper towels! We finished up because B and C were dying for the pool. Off we go for some Mickey and Goofy action!

We went to the Mickey pool first, it was shallow and I didn’t need to worry about Cooper as much plus Bells could go on the slide. When we got there of course just about every chair had a towel on it. That is SO annoying and rude. I found 2 chairs that didn’t have shoes or clothes occupying it and sat my buns down. If someone came over to stake their claim I would refuse to move and inform them that’s it’s too bad, no saving seats when there aren’t any free ones. It’s only fair, right?! I was enjoying the sunshine and heat while the kids had a blast. Cooper told me he wanted to do the slide so I walked him over but he chickened out when he realized he had to climb stairs. Well, duh, Coop, whadidya think? He bailed so I sat again and was just chillin’. Then I saw Sue!!!! Her hubby and kids were with her so I waved and she came over. I got to introduce her to Pierre and we chatted for a while, Peeps disappeared for a few and came back with a fruit platter and another Bushwacker for us. Do I have him trained well or what :thumbsup2 ?! Kidding!!!!! I probably would have done the same for him, love that guy! Anyways, Sue tried the drink (after we pretty much forced her, LOL!) and I think she liked it! Her little cutie, Christine, came over and I met her, an absolute adorable doll, and my kids met her as well. It was a highlight of my trip to meet another Dis’er and be able to chat in person! I’m just bummed that I didn’t think to have Pierre get a picture of us together! Geez, afterthoughts, I hate'em! Anyways, Bella wanted to go in the Goofy pool so I said “See ya later” to Sue and we went over. Da-yung the ground is H-O-T!!!!!!! REmemeber to keep your floppers with you!

Bella started to elbow me in the ribs about this guy. Ummm is he for real?

IMG_0899.jpg

I’m sorry but is he kidding? Nu-uh. This does not happen in real life. Does it? I can’t get over the fact that someone went out in public dressed like this. We just about busted a gut giggling over it before we got to the Goofy Pool. Bella dove right in, you could barely see Goofy so I wasn’t too sure about it. Germs. Eeeeew. Pierre came over and took a shot of me, drink in hand. Of course...

IMG_0900.jpg

Look at Bella in the water, does that even look like Goofy? It looks more like Patrick from Spongebob Squarepants to me!

IMG_0901.jpg

She insisted I get in with her so I did. Gross. Warm water. Very warm. I heard the guys next to us laughing over the hot pink/yellow shorted Peep dude. And not MY Peep, Jordan’s peep (FYI Jordan is the Master Peep from the regular trip report board) . I informed them that I took a picture for posterity. Ahh, good times, good times. Toy Story

IMG_0904.jpg

was playing on the Dumbo Tron (or is it the Ariel View, still can't figure that sucker out!) so I watched that for a bit between Bella yelling at me to get a picture of her doing backwards summersaults in the water

IMG_0905.jpg

Finally they were ready for the kids clubs so we got them dried off, cleaned up and changed before dropping them off. Wey-hey-hey, naughty times in the room before we refilled our *cough*cough* water bottles and got off the boat again.

IMG_0907.jpg

Water or not? LOL! We skipped off the boat, back into the straw market. I had my eye on a Coach bag that I wanted and when we zipped through with the kids I only saw 1 of them. Those women working their stalls are RUTHLESS and I almost saw a cat fight between them, RRROOOOOOWRRRRR! I saw a few other things I wanted and made Pierre out to be a MAJOR cheapskate who would only spend $20-30 on my anniversary pressie. I got some ‘Coach’ sunglasses and a ‘Tiffany’ necklace. Now, I do have a few real and 1 fake Coach bag but this was the first fake Tiffany item I bought. I love the silver collections they have and Pierre always buys me something for my birthday and Christmas from them. I have the bracelet that matches. It looks completely genuine so who’s a happy girl? ME!!!

We checked out more before heading over to Senor Frogs for a drink. I’d heard a lot about that bar so it was a must do! We hung a left at the end of the stalls and were confronted by a real life drug dealer. OMG! I couldn’t believe he came right up to us and asked if we wanted anything so I had to ask him “Why us? Why me? What made us look like we would buy anything from him?” Course ya know I grilled him to the maxola!!!! I can’t remember what he said but I had a good laugh over it. I’m still baffled! We walked away and into Senor Frogs, luckily it was close by!

Talk about a Bahamian looking bar! There couldn’t have been anything else done to it to make it more islandy (is that a word?) The bartender took our pic and I love this shot, we just look so happy and chilled out! One of my real Coach is around my shoulder and THE prefect travel purse!

IMG_0910.jpg

Cheers from Senorita Froggie! And her ‘Tiffany’ necklace. I have the matching bracelet but don't actually wear it that mch. It gets in my way at work so I susally wear my Tiffany Bead bread bracelet with the earrign that match. I just got the newest catalog and must cisle my needs, er, I mean wants :rolleyes1

IMG_0911.jpg

Who, me?

IMG_0913.jpg

We left after 1 drink and wove our way back through the stalls, luckily Mr. Druggie was gone, and I needed to find my girl who had the ‘Coach’ bag I must have! I talked her down to a measly $30 and we joked around, she told me she was pregnant. For 2 years….Dudes, this bag is to die for! I need to post a pic but I love it. On a side sot I have a fantastic second hand store near me that I always go to and got a Dooney and Bourke (don't pass out now!!!) for $11 freakin' bucks! Also a very nicely fitted brown suede blazer jacket doe $45 and a belt for $10. PLUS I had a $27 credit so.... I am the bombdiggity shopper!

IMG_0908.jpg

On our way back to the boat we walked through the building and these guys were jammin’

IMG_0915.jpg

Love that Caribbean sound….. we went through the security line and onto the boat. Time to get our kiddos. Pierre was hungry. Again. He wanted to grab a snack at BBB before dinner so he went in and was trailing behind cause the kids needed to make a pit stop. I met him outside and he was sitting down eating a shrimp kebob and some other stuff that was totally yummers so of course I ate off his plate. Hey, that’s what hubbies are for, right??!! The shrimp was gorgeous and I needed me some more! I went up to the little buffet set up outside, how fancy is that? It was so nice out there, bright blue sky, front of the boat, not many people so it was very nice and intimate. I got another plate and was asked my name.

me “Say what?”
“Your name Ma’am”
“ Um, Leyla L.”
“You're not on the list”
“What list?”
“This is a private party. You need to leave”
“Oops”

Yah, kinda embarrassing :rolleyes1 We were escorted out but in the stairwell we were giggling and told the waitstaff what happened and that the shrimp was FABU. They told us to wait and guess what? They came back with a FULL plate for us and told us to have a great time!!!!! GO DCL!!!!!! You rock whoever did that! Isn’t that a trip??!! I still laugh over it!

Back to the room we went (with our heads held high BTW!) We were eating in Animators Palate tonight and I was really looking forward to that, plus it was the Pirates in the Caribbean Party. I had wanted to eat at Palo's but it was only a 3 night cruise and I wanted to enjoy dinner with the 3 loves of my life.

I borrowed pirate outfits from my girlfriend for the kids and they were beside themselves with excitement to wear them. Another view of our room, the top bunk pulls out from the wall above.

IMG_0918-1.jpg

My little pirate, I swear he’s the cutest thing eva! Well, to me is…..

IMG_0917.jpg

“Walk the plank maties! Arrggghhh!”

IMG_0916.jpg

Nice choppers, Bella

IMG_0922.jpg

This one is with our room steward, he was SO nice! But I'm such a loo for not remembering his name!!!!

IMG_0923.jpg

Off to AP! Folks, this is all I can tonight and I’ll see if I can another update this weekend but I ain’t promisin’ nuttin! I probably will though cause I love working on it! So, do you think I’ll like our tablemates any better tonight? Or the food? Pirate Party? Hmmm, stick around and you’ll see….

Okay, when were you in High Wycombe???!!! I lived there from 89-93 and worked for Dr. Healy (very reknowed dentist) and my boyfriend at the time's fasily owned Tencer Heating and A/C. I just visited the Healy 2 years ago when I was last there (on his 10,000 suare foot MANOR, mind you,...)

Great pirate outfits - the kids are so cute. How funny that you tried to gatecrash a private party :rotfl:

Can't wait to find out if you liked your tablemates any better 2nd time around ;) By the way, we're DVC members too - but I am definitely not snotty although my DH can be annoying ;)

I lived in Wendover from '89-'92 and again from '95 to 2000. I worked at Tesco in High Wycombe for a few months over Christmas 1996. Can we start singing that dreaded 'It's a A Small World' song yet?
