I'm thankful for...MICKEY!!! My Thanksgiving '08 TR!: TR Update, Last Day!

Has anyone ever done the Candlelight Processional without the dinner package?

If so, I have got some questions for you!

1. Do we really have to get there 2 hours early?

2. Where should we try to sit?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Just popping on to say hi Julie- I've been so busy and feel terrible about not keeping up. I've never done the candlelight processional, what is it? You must be getting so excited about the trip!

Good luck with the showing tomorrow!

Hey Leyla! No worries about not keeping up. I've been busy too. I totally understand.

The candlelight processional is where a celebrity narrator reads passages from the Bible (I assume they're about Christmas) while a choir sings. It takes place in that big theater across from America in Epcot. The celebrity narrators who will be there when I'll be there are John O'Hurley and Neil Patrick Harris. I'm thinking we'll go with Doogie!

We're ALMOST ready for the showing tomorrow. Just cleaning and organizing left to do. We've been working non-stop since Thursday night in between our actual jobs. Tonight, we're going to take a break and go to our town festival. I need some junk food and drinks!

We saw Neil Patrick Harris last year - he was great! We did the package though - not sure about the lines without it.

I can't believe 70+pages of a PTR!!! Sorry I haven't jumped in till now!

Congratulations on the job and the move, how exciting!!!! :woohoo: Your trip is right around the corner too!

Oh good! I'm glad to hear that he was good! And he'll be there on the days after the crazy Thanksgiving weekend, so we'll have a better chance of getting seats!

I know...I started this PTR way too early, but I was just so excited!

Thanks so much!

Did you say you're doing Epcot on Saturday after Thanksgiving, or was that snowbell? I am going to try my best to get in everything Christmasy that opens up on Friday, the 28th, sometime before we leave on the 30th. I want to see the Jingle Jungle Parade for sure, and I'd like to go by Osborne Lights, too. I plan to be in World Showcase hearing Christmas storytellers and such almost all of Saturday. Maybe we'll get to see some of the CP the night.

If we get lucky, maybe some of the Christmas stuff will be going a couple of days earlier (we can cross our fingers, right?) so we can do some of it on those days and not be trying to cram everything in on Friday, Saturday, and the morning of Sunday before we leave. Man, oh man, do I wish we were making another Christmas trip this year!!! I don't want to miss anything, but I know we're going to. I have a list of stuff that would fill seven or eight days, but we've only got 5 and 1/2.

Hope the showing went well today!!!

The people never got back in touch with the realtor so there was no showing today. We were bummed, but it did give us the motivation to get EVERYTHING done. We worked so hard all weekend. The house looks GREAT now. All we need are buyers!

How is england?!? And your DH?!?

I will definitely be at Epcot all day on Saturday. So we'll get to meet there for sure!

Do they normally do Christmas stuff in the days before Thanksgiving? Or does it vary from year to year? I will keep my fingers crossed for you!

I've been doing some Disney planning today and I have some questions for you, my friends!

What are your favorite locations for viewing
1. Spectromagic
2. Wishes
3. Illuminations

I've never seen Spectromagic or Wishes, but they are on my must do list this time. As for Illuminations, I've seen it a bunch because I spend most of my Disney evenings in World Showcase. And I usually just plop myself down wherever I happen to be when it starts. This year, however, I hope to have a plan for viewing locations.

So any and all advice would be much appreciated!

We always watch Spectromagic from either Liberty Square or Frontierland. For Wishes we grabbed a spot right in front of the castle -- we have also watched fireworks from the Tomorrowland bridge, but I don't like that spot near as much as I like being in front of the castle.

I have never managed to see Illuminations :(.

When we were there around the 17th last November, they were already doing Osborne Lights, but this year they say they're not opening them until the 28th. Jingle Jungle Parade doesn't open until the 28th, either, along with Candlelight Processional. Of those, I want to see the parade the most, so we'll plan to be there on the 28th, then head straight to Hollywood Studios and catch the lights that night. (If we can get in! I hope they aren't so busy they're closed.)

As far as decorations, some resorts had up their big trees the weekend before Thanksgiving last year, and some weren't putting them up until Thanksgiving Day or the day after. I want Trent and Kristi to see Wilderness Lodge all decorated up, so I know we'll go there, too. At least I know I can get Magic Kingdom Christmas decorations in all the days before Thursday, since they're already up for the parties. That helps! It's gonna be a busy few days! We'll get home late Sunday night/early Monday morning to Alabama, where I'm leaving my car, and I'll be driving in to school two hours from AL Monday morning. I will be a complete zombie that day!

We have no agenda for Epcot, so if you have an ADR that day, maybe we could just run by and meet you there as you're waiting to go in. That way we're not losing any precious park time trying to arrange a 'meet-up'.

Oh, no! That's got to be fixed! I agree with Charleston Princess. If you see Spectro from back near Hall of Presidents, you are right there on top of it and will get great pictures. Wishes needs to be seen from up front, though. We watched from the Dumbo area once, but it's pretty intense back there. I wouldn't recommend it for a first time. For the first time, you need to be out in front of the castle.

Jill will be there Saturday, and as soon as she gets back the next weekend and we have oohed and aahed over all of her Halloween pictures and adventures, we'll start going nuts over the Thanksgiving countdown!

You've never seen spectro or wishes?! Make sure you see it this time!!! :goodvibes

I would say best place to see them are out on Main St. Yes you have to grab a spot early but sometimes you can come late and still get a great spot.

As for Wishes after spectro is over move up closer to the castle. Oh and if you stand on the tomorrowland bridge or over by the rose garden Tink will fly right over your head!!! :wizard:

I think you will really like Wishes that is my favorite night time show at Disney! Yay for being under 2 months!

How is england?!? And your DH?!?

England is good...it was actually in the high 60's and sunny yesterday although it was kinda bright after being up for 24+ hrs! LOL but still it was nice. I haven't gone outside today since DH had to work and I slept til 1:30 pm...I was tired and all messed up on the time change. I am hoping to walk around town a little tomorrow. DH is good! It is so nice to see him! ;) I can't believe 1 week from today we will be back in the States together and in 9 days we will be heading to Disney!!! Single Digit dance!!!

I am sorry that the showing fell through but at least you got everything done and will be ready for the next one!

**As for your question about favorite places to watch Wishes...I love watching them from the bridge between Main St and Tomorrowland...NOT the one closest to the Castle but the one directly leading to Tomorrowland. There are benches built into the wall about half way through and we get there early and get the first couple of seats. When I went in Sept I watched them from the Walt and Mickey statue in front of the castle...we got a seat on the island thing and I think we were actually a little too close and missed some of the fireworks that were behind the Castle. After that I can say that I prefer the bridge instead but if you want to watch them from Main Street make sure you are a little further back so you can see all of the fireworks.

Ok enough from me...talk to you soon!

Thank you for the tips! I just wrote everything down in my trip binder!

I do like Illuminations very much. It's probably hard for you to see it with the kiddos, though, huh?

Well, I'm not much of a parade person, but Spectomagic is on the must do list. All the pics I've seen have convinced me that it's worth it. I used to think parades were just a great opportunity to ride rides without much wait. And now that you're talking about the Jingle Jungle parade, I want to see that also! It's going to be a very different trip this time!

I can't wait to see Jill's Halloween pics!

WE don't have an ADR for Saturday. We'll find a good time to meet as we get closer to the trip.

Thanks for the viewing tips! I am writing them all down!

Thank you for the viewing tips! I def want to see Tink!

I agree, you need to to see Wishes and Spectro, its a sin! lol!

I know! I can't believe I haven't seen them! I WILL see them this time though.

Jetlag is rough! It's good that you can nap while DH is working to get adjusted. Then you'll have to do it all again in a week! Hopefully, the jetlag will be gone in time for Disney.

Have fun while you're in England! Please take some pics! I've never been there.

Thanks for the viewing tips!

Sorry, I don't have any answers to your questions because we haven't been there yet :lmao:, but I just wanted to send you "sell quickly" vibes for your house!!! :thumbsup2
