I'm sure I'm the LAST to know, but are flights super-cheap right now or something?!

Just for fun, we checked a quick flight search for anything going to Atlanta from the Scranton or Philly area and I was floored that the direct flights were affordable, actually GOOD rates around $200 pp. So I decided to go a step further and check flights to Orlando during the dates Free Dining is offered in Jan/Feb and the flights were somewhere around $128 pp. WHAT?! I've never been able to take advantage of flights that low.

I haven't been following the news, has this been going on for a while? Do I need to really jump on this right away if we want to do it? And last but most importantly - is the FDR promotion still going on?? Thanks.:goodvibes

Holy cow... must be some special sale from Philly or something! Airfares have been insanely high for a good while now, at least the ones I've been watching since Spring or so. Airfare between Houston and Orlando has been through the roof -- higher than I've ever seen it consistently stay at for as long as I can remember.

It was hovering right at about $350-360 per person RT forever, but then one day about a month & 1/2 ago there was a sale on Delta for $190 per. I jumped on that as fast as I could. Two hours later, the sale fares were gone, and in checking every day the fares have been right back where they were before. I'm so glad I got in on the sale -- $700 airfare for DS and I was definitely NOT in the budget!!

If that seems like a good fare from your city, then I would jump on it now!

Jump on a sale fare as fast as you can! I have seen them go up right after I completed my transaction. There does seem to be waves of up and down but really if it seems like a good deal I wouldnt take the chance of losing the good deal :)

I'm looking at flights for the first week in May and direct flights from NYC to Orlando are under $200 per person right now. Maybe because it's 6 months out? I'm going to book in the next few days; $200/pp was my budget for airfare, I don't want to risk it going up!

What airline is offering these low rates? The cheapest I could find from Dallas was AirTran at $328 RT.

I think it might depend on the airport you are flying out of but I booked my airfare for Dec back in Aug and I am paying 168.00 R/T PP (SOUTHWEST) from Chicago Midway. My mom is going for the same dates in december and purchased her ticket for 159.00 R/T our of Detroit Metro (AIRTRAN). She purchased hers a little earlier I forget if it was the end of july or early august. Good luck!!

Unfortunately, if those good rates are not on Southwest they can be quickly offset once you add the cost to check luggage unless you can fit everything in a carry on.
