"I'M STUCK IN DISNEY!!!!!!!!" A Delightfully Unliveable TR ~ NEW TR 9/27!!!!!!!!!!!

Catching up!

I had NO idea Mr. Spell outside TSM worked either -- how cool! Love all the Tower of Terror pics. I agree...the courtyard that the line winds through IS so pretty and calming. When I first rode ToT (I was eight), I was completely terrified and refused to ride it for years following. But now it's definitely grown on me.

Did you ever read about the private dining dinner Lurkyloo had at the Tower of Terror? I think it must've been after the park closed, they got to wander around the lobby, where it's normally roped off, and take pics. It sounds like something you should definitely do one day! :thumbsup2

We did see the Characterpalooza on our last trip in July. I've heard the characters that come out are the ones from Fantasmic...they were out from 5:45-6:30 the night we were there - Minnie, Mary Poppins, the penguin, and Captain Hook (who offered to give my brother a haircut!).

I have always gotten FPs for the tower of terror, or it has been a walk on. I want there to be a wait because I want to check out the queue more. It is just so amazing in there. Reason 286849865984615 why I love Imagineering.

The TOT queue is seriously one of the best, inside and out. I'm glad you got to show Lee-Anne the amazingness of this queue even if she didn't want to ride. I feel like the whole dropping bit is seriously just a little part of the actual ride experience. I too have never had to wait more then 15 minutes or so but try to take in as much as I can. Can't wait to see what happens next!

Oh my goodness, your ToT shirt is a stroke of GENIUS!!!!!!!!!!!! Sooo cute!!! :thumbsup2 You just can't beat the theming of that ride, it's SO much more than a thrill ride, just like you said! Can't wait to read about what you girls get into next! ;)

I say you can NEVER have enough pictures of TOT from any angle whatsoever! We love it too, the music and gorgeousness make the queue. Your shirt is adorable - really nice job! I never thought to do something like that - gets me thinking now though! ;)

Ok I'm so overwhelmed by all of the awesomeness in these updates, I don't even know what to say, so just Sci-Fi <3 <3 <3, Muppetvision <3 <3 <3, Mr. Spell is working (I freaked out when I heard him last week), and your TOT shirt is FLAW FREE.

Can't wait for more! :cool1:

Those vines definitely are reminiscent of the ones in Jumanji!!

Your shirt looks really cool! I've tried to do fun things to large t-shirts before, and they just end up looking mangled and awful . I wish I had your crafting skills!!

Thank you!!! Honestly, I have a lot of mangled shirts as well. It takes practice to do a good job!

Pretty awesome what you did with that shirt!! It looks great.

I LOVE the ToT queue. One of the very best in all of Disney World, for sure! And definitely one of the best attractions. Almost every other park in the country has a ride that shoots you up and drops you down, but only Disney could nail down such fantastic themeing to make it something totally unique!

Thank you!

I totally agree with you. That's what makes Disney better than anything else that has ever existed on this planet. They go the extra mile with everything. No one would complain if they just had a normal free fall ride. It would still be super popular too. But no, Disney creates this entire other world that you get transported to for this ride.

Oh dear god I DIED at the osbourne lights this year, I was all "aw man this is really pretty, they're gorgeous" then they started actually dancing and I was all "WWWWUUUUTTT?!?!" Insane.

Yeah!! It's weird that they have the height restriction, but I guess there is a kick line, and they want it to look all the same? haha I have no clue. Now, onto this update:

I love all the pictures of ToT, I would love to spend so much time photographing the lobby & library, I find there's so much to look at! It's totally awesome!! ACK! Isn't the chicken exit of ToT the actual elevator that's down there?! HECK NO!! I will never get on that elevator, bahaha!!

Hope you enjoyed the ride!

I was alarmed when they started dancing too! haha. I forgot they danced so it was quite a surprise for me!

Me too! I wish I had more time to examine everything in the library. I know there are a few Hidden Mickeys in there but I haven't seen them.

Yeah, the chicken exit is just a normal elevator. What a buzzkill.

Oh, I DID!!

Catching up!

I know. Apparently he talks too, just like in the movie. It's awesome!!

Thanks! I was pretty scared the first time I went on too (I was 10), but then I instantly fell in love with it. It's been my favorite ever since!

YES I know exactly what you're talking about. I will definitely be doing that one day, mark my words!

Ahh that's awesome! I really hope I get to be there for the Palooza soon!

I have always gotten FPs for the tower of terror, or it has been a walk on. I want there to be a wait because I want to check out the queue more. It is just so amazing in there. Reason 286849865984615 why I love Imagineering.

Exactly! I hope you get to take your time through the queue one day because it is quite the experience.

The TOT queue is seriously one of the best, inside and out. I'm glad you got to show Lee-Anne the amazingness of this queue even if she didn't want to ride. It absolutely is! You're right, the dropping IS a small part of the ride, but the other elements of the actual ride make it perfect... the ghosts, the narration, the music, etc. I just wish she would get over her fear! I've never understood why people are afraid of rides so I don't get it. But it is true that the actual ride part is only a fraction of the experience, so I'm glad she got to walkthrough and see the pre-show and everything.

Thank you!

Oh my goodness, your ToT shirt is a stroke of GENIUS!!!!!!!!!!!! Sooo cute!!! :thumbsup2 You just can't beat the theming of that ride, it's SO much more than a thrill ride, just like you said! Can't wait to read about what you girls get into next! ;)

Ahh thanks! What a compliment. It is a very snazzy shirt if I do say so myself.

I say you can NEVER have enough pictures of TOT from any angle whatsoever! We love it too, the music and gorgeousness make the queue. Your shirt is adorable - really nice job! I never thought to do something like that - gets me thinking now though! ;)

Absolutely true!

Thank you so much! You should definitely try it, it's fun and way cheaper than buying the shirts in the gift shop. Woo!

Thanks Kara! OMG I'm so jealous that you heard Mr. Spell talking. WHAT DID HE SAY?

I always feel weird when I have to wait for TOT too. I had to on the last trip and it threw me off.

I love how crafty you are! Another reason why we're friends. Your shirt is awesome!

LOL I love your "relaxed" picture. Too funny. And too true. :rotfl:

Aww LeeAnn missed out. Maybe someday. :thumbsup2

YAYYY you went home at last!!!
I love your passionate rants about the wonders of TOT!
It is PERFECT!

Your shirt is super cute! Very impressive what you did there!!!
I would have never even have thought of weaving ribbons into a shirt!

They really are jumanji-ish vines. That movie really freaked me out when I was a kid... made me pretty scared to play boardgames from a few years.

Your smile is so massive!! So happy to be home! I love it!

I get that people don't enjoy thrill rides but seriously Disney theming makes them so much more than rides!!

Ahhh I'm excited for your crazy night ahead :goodvibes

I've just finished catching up here. <3 the updates. Random fact: Adam is purely a fan made name and The Beast wasn't actually given a name. Glenn Keane, who was the head animator for the Beast/Prince, was asked at Comic Con 2 years ago whether The Beast had a name or not, and he said that he, nor anyone else, never gave Beast a name (the producers confirmed this). Adam popped on a Disney game and fans sort of took it and ran and it's sort of stuck since. Officially, Beast doesn't have a name.

I just got caught up and I love this TR!! I can't wait for more. I too love TOT!!!!

I know! It's nice to get the slow burn ToT queue experience once in awhile, though.

Thank you! I'm not really that crafty when it comes to non-Disney things though, lol. I think Disney just brings creativity out in me!

Yeah, I'm hoping she'll do it eventually!

I'm glad my neverending diatribes about ToT are appreciated! hahaha

Thank you so much! I used to do it with my concert T-shirts when I was like 12 and decided to bring the trend back! :thumbsup2 haha

Jumanji didn't really scare me... except for the GIANT MOSQUITOES cause my mom told me ones that big really do exist! I thought she was kidding but they have a dead one on display at the Museum of Natural History. :scared1: NIGHTMARES FOREVER.

I don't think my smile can reach that level of giganticness normally, only in Disney!

Ahh it's so true! People who are nervous about the thrill part of it should just freaking DO IT and the fear will probably disappear since there is just so much more to focus on while riding a Disney attraction!

hahaha it was quite the evening!

Thank you... and thanks for all the info! I'm kind of glad Adam isn't his official name. That's really weird that fans decided to randomly choose Adam, of all things. Interesting!

I just got caught up and I love this TR!! I can't wait for more. I too love TOT!!!!

Thank you so much!! Glad you've joined in! :welcome:!!!

I'm dying thinking of Mickey being an emergency contact. I'm also laughing harder because the other day at work, we were listening to old 911 calls and there was a person who called who sounded EXACTLY like Mickey! SO FUNNY. And then another co-worker started talking in a Mickey voice and it was just hilarious. (The caller was calling about a tornado and so the guy was like "But where's Minnie? What should I do with my pal Pluto?") I don't know if this is a "You had to be there" moment or not. Sorry if it is. :rotfl:

OMG HOW DID YOU WAIT SO LONG TO GO ON TOT?!?! I CAN NEVER!!!! Lol it's always my first and last!

I love the queue. I never wait in line either for it usually...as you now know! But I would. I would wait. It's worth it. I completely jump up and down the whole time in the queue. It's insane. My joy just is uncontrollable. I can't help but bounce. The excitement is too much to contain.

So sad that Lee-Anne took the chicken exit. I am very familiar with that elevator but I never traveled the direction she did on it.

Lia, seriously. Like, seriously. You are the freakin' greatest trip report writer on these boards and I take extreme joy in being able to read them. I about crapped myself when I saw you had a new one up.

It is impossible not to fall head over heels for your personality and enthusiasm and it's totally infectious!! I'm still reeling that you spoke with Stacey.

Delighted you're back in the saddle with a new report, especially one that will be super long and eventful. Thanks for making me laugh. I catch every single one of your hysterical references and am rolling. But that's a Lia report, right?!

Keep it up, my dear! :thumbsup2

WOOT! All caught up! YAY! Loving it so far! And I find it so awesome that I'm not the only person out there who thinks ToT is flawless. Seriously, such a fantastic ride and this is coming from the kid who was sweating bullets the first time he rode it he was so nervous. A shame Lee-Ann dropped out on that one, it really isn't as bad as it looks. But anyways, :thumbsup2 to the Woody Allen quote! Reminds me that I need to see Annie Hall. Why hasn't TCM played it yet? I was able to watch Broadway Danny Rose and Manhattan for the first time, but yet I can't see his most acclaimed work Annie Hall. Ugghhh... anyways, can't wait to read more! :mickeyjum

HI GUYS!! AHH. I can't believe I haven't updated in so long! Honestly I barely have time to tie my shoes so I actually can believe it. I'm sorry I've neglected my replies! Hopefully I can update soon. I hope you're all having a lovely holiday season. I am not. I am here instead of in Disney and it blows!!! :sad2: Anywho...

I'm dying thinking of Mickey being an emergency contact. hahaha That is so random and funny! He should try and get a job as Mickey's voice. I wonder who's doing it these days. Besides Mickey himself, of course, but his vocal chords must get tired now and then. ;)

I had to, because I wanted to be nice and do the attraction Lee-Anne really wanted to do first. Since I knew she probably wouldn't go on the ride part of ToT, I didn't want that to be her first WDW ride. I know, I deserve a medal of honor.

You're right, it is totally worth it to wait, but I'm glad the line is usually very short or non-existent! At least it is for me cause of the low crowd times that I go during!

Hahaha oh right, I remember you telling me about that! So awesome!

Lia, seriously. Like, seriously. You are the freakin' greatest trip report writer on these boards and I take extreme joy in being able to read them. I about crapped myself when I saw you had a new one up.

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!!! This is one of the best comments I have ever read and I <3 you! I'm so glad you enjoy my TRs so much, that's really wonderful to hear and makes me smile.

Again, Thank you! You are so kind. I hope I can live up to this with the rest of my TRs!

Thank you!

Aww. I was super scared to go on the first time too! It's not only not as bad as it looks, it's not bad at ALL! It's just pure fun! The feeling you get is so amazing. I honestly don't understand how people can be that scared of rides that they vow to never do them, but hey we're all different!

YES YOU NEED TO SEE ANNIE HALL. When I catch your tweets about watching classic movies it makes me smile because more young people need to do this!

How did you like Broadway Danny Rose and Manhattan? My other favorite Allen film is Crimes and Misdemeanors, but really I love so many of them that it's not even possible to name them all.

Thank you!

I totally agree! It's not bad at all. I mean the first ride, I was so nervous. I was in the back for the first time and held onto the bars for dear life and had so much fun. It's so exhilarating the feeling in your gut when you drop, LOVE IT! And the fact everything around you is just floating, OMG LOVE IT! I could go on and on about this ride. But after riding it twice, I loved it and was no longer afraid, not even a little.

It's killing me how I haven't seen it. Seriously, that was the first Woody Allen movie I ever heard of when my dad mentioned it. And yet I haven't seen it. And I agree about this generation not watching enough classic movies. It's a real shame when my friend says she won't watch a B&W movie because it's a B&W movie. I mean, for real? One of my all-time favorite movies is in B&W and if I hadn't gotten over that attitude I never would've been able to experience it. :sad2: Love your movie tumblr btw! I always check over there to read your reviews and see if there are any movies you've posted about that interest me.

I REALLY liked Broadway Danny Rose. I love Mia Farrow ever since I watched Rosemary's Baby (BIG Oscar snub right there. Much better than Ruth Gordon IMO) and she was awesome in this. And I thought the whole thing was absolutely hysterical. My favorite scene is when they are tied up and it just pans on in from their feet and... OMG so funny! And I loved Woody's character of Danny Rose, one of the number one reasons I was stuck on that movie. Manhattan on the other hand... I wasn't impressed. Everyone says that's his other masterpiece but I just didn't like it all that much. I love Diane Keaton and I appreciated the originality, but I usually start liking a movie by liking the characters and I didn't like any of them. I didn't like the whole relationship between Woody and the young girl, felt it was a bit strange and didn't make sense. Diane's character was just overall unlike-able to me, I liked her more in The Godfather when she gets an abortion. Then everyone else was very plain even the lovely Meryl Streep. The cinematography was excellent and I could just close my eyes and enjoy the Gershwin soundtrack, but it wasn't my favorite.

Kinda went a little overboard on that one... SEE this is what happens when a person gets me talking about movies :P Anyways, I actually have Crimes and Misdemeanors on my DVR! Will have to watch that one soon.

Just stopping by to wish you a Merry Christmas!

WOW that bugs me that your friend won't watch black and white movies. That's absolutely ridiculous... I just don't get it! Which movie are you talking about that's one of your all time favorites!

Aww, thank you! I'm glad you like my movie blog! I try and update it as much as possible but I hate writing reviews. But if you ever want some recommendations, feel free to ask me! :D

Mia Farrow is amazing! I wish she got better roles these days, but of course Hollywood isn't kind to older women. :headache: It's too bad what happened between her and Woody cause I'm sure he'd still be putting her in his movies. He said he is trying to find the right project to work on to reunite him and Diane so I really hope that happens soon. You really need to see not only Annie Hall, but all his movies with Diane Keaton: Play It Again Sam, Sleeper, Manhattan Murder Mystery are the first that come to mind.

I totally agree with your assessment of Manhattan! I appreciate the cinematography and music so much and I love a lot of the jokes and one liners, I do think some parts are beautiful (like when he's laying on the couch talking about all the little things that make life worth living) but overall it's not my favorite Allen film. I agree that the relationship with him and Mariel Hemingway is just too odd, even if she were 18 or 19 it would be a little less creepy while still keeping the innocence of the character. Like, I understand that she's supposed to be naive and hopeful and he's supposed to be jaded and cynical but they could have kept the integrity of the character without her literally being a child. It's just not right.

Haha, obviously I'm the same way. Let me know what you think of Crimes and Misdemeanors! I really can't say enough good things about it. It's one of those movies where, when it ended I just kind of sat back and stared at the credits in awe hahaha. I loooooove it!

Just stopping by to wish you a Merry Christmas!

It is! I'm kinda thinking of showing her one of my B&W movies restored in color. Asking her how she likes it then show it to her on another occasion in B&W just to get her upset. And the movie I'm talking about is It's A Wonderful Life, that movie just never gets old for me no matter how everyone in the world (aside from my father) gets annoyed with me watching it so much.

Thanks! You seem to have similar tastes in movies to me so I may ask when I get through the endless list of movies I have to-be watched (Got SOOO many for Christmas). They are seriously dominating my life right now. My friends now want me to make a movie blog too!

It really is a shame. If only she had gotten all those Oscar nods she deserved. I'm sure she'd be almost as successful as Meryl Streep. And I totally agree about the situation between her and Woody. They were so great together and really played off each other well. I know people like him and Diane Keaton together generally, but she's in a whole other league. Woody and Mia were at the same level so it worked. But I'll have to see more of Diane and Woody so hopefully I'll come across Annie Hall one of these days (Sleeper was actually on TCM or some other channel a few days ago. Should've recorded it, darn!)

Exactly. I can say there is no other movie like it, but I think that may have been its downfall. I think the cinematography and music is almost overwhelming to the story-line since it's so well-done you can get all wrapped-up in fantastic Gershwin compositions and then some of the best scenery all in mellow tones that you don't notice what's going on. I mean, the most used cover for the movie with Diane and Woody on the bench looking at the Brooklyn Bridge, I barely even remember what happened there. There was way too much ambition and I think it didn't make the movie as good as it should've been. And yeah, the relationship between Woody and Mariel didn't work or feel right at all. I could see what they were getting at, but I felt Woody carried a brunt of the chemistry there because it felt awkward from her end since the maturity that I believe that was supposed to be there got lost in the naivety. I don't think they picked the best actress for a young character even though she did get the supporting actress Oscar nod.

I'm going to watch Reservoir Dogs and possibly Jackie Brown (I got a Quentin Tarantino DVD set from my aunt. PULP FICTION <3) then I'm seeing Les Miserables tonight!!!! But I think I'll go find sometime tomorrow since I'm in need of a good Woody film now :)
