"I'M STUCK IN DISNEY!!!!!!!!" A Delightfully Unliveable TR ~ NEW TR 9/27!!!!!!!!!!!

Tower of Terror is my favorite ride too (although, I don't know about you, but I think the Tower of Bunnies would be pretty awesome. Someone get on that).

You mean you're NOT actually Tyra Banks? THEN WHAT AM I DOING HERE??

LOLOL That child photobombing you. Never change, kid.

I had the same experience as you with seeing Casablance on the big screen, except for me it was with Singin' in the Rain. Been in love with that movie for ages, finally saw it in a movie theatre for the first time a few months ago, and it was ultimate perfection. Why can't they still make movies like that?

The Tower of Bunnies!!! :lmao: Well it would be pretty scary if they were the killer bunnies from Monty Python...

I would ABSOLUTELY watch Jafar and Scar's late night talk show! I think it would be great!

Don't feel bad, I can't ever find the hidden Minnie on the GMR. There's also apparently a hidden Donald in there too that evades me as well.

Joining in - this is such a fun TR! If I ever get some free time (unlikely, but you never know), I'll have to check out your other ones.

October is my absolute favorite time to go to WDW, and this past one was the first October in four years I couldn't make it (I have a good excuse -- I was busy having a baby!), so I'm looking forward to having a vicarious October trip through your report!

Oh, and TOT is TOTally my favorite, too.

Looking forward to more!

Thank you for joining in, I'm glad you like it! :welcome:

It's my favorite time too. I am counting down the days until fall in Disney again. Congratulations on your baby!

I didn't get to ride TOT on my last trip because it was so crowded and I was CRUSHED. :( I have been craving it so much. Good thing I'm moving there or else this whole thing wouldn't work out.

I need to look more at those TOT details! I always miss them. (I know, you're probably very ashamed of me. tsk tsk. :sad2:)

JAFAR AND SCAR'S LATE NIGHT TALK SHOW :rotfl: The dark side. They have Mickey bars.

I ALWAYS waltz into Fantasmic at the last minute and get fantastic seats. It's a frump gift, I suppose.

YES PHOTOBOMBING CHILD. I am giggling out loud to myself right now.

I LOVE Fantasmic. My appreciation for it has grown after my last trip. I don't know, it's just really magical :wizard:

OMG yeah I can't believe it stayed crowded even after New Years. But soon you will be able to ride it whenever you want!

It's okay frump, when I visit I will show you all the epic ToT details!!!

HAHA THEY BETTER. There should be an entire segment on this show called "Jafar and Scar Eat Mickey Bars." WHERE IS MY CHECK, DISNEY? THIS SHOW IS GONNA BE AMAZING.

We just have that frumpy power that allows us to get last minute seating! It always works for me with parades too.

I love that child. I wish him many more photobombs in the future.

I love it too, but not like anywhere near as much as Wishes. Comparing them is kinda stupid though, since they are so different. I usually get WAY more excited about Wishes but on this day I was just the biggest Fantasmic fan ever!

Tower of Terror is my favorite ride too (although, I don't know about you, but I think the Tower of Bunnies would be pretty awesome. Someone get on that).

SORRY I'M NOT TYRA BANKS I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO ABOUT IT. :faint:

Oooh I was sad I missed Singin in the Rain! Hopefully I'll get to see it at a rep theatre sometime. I love these revivals. I wish they had a new (old) movie every week or something at the big theatre chains. And I said the same thing on my movie blog about Casablanca - THEY JUST DON'T MAKE THEM LIKE THAT ANYMORE! I know that makes me sound 85 years old, but it's actually true.

WHOA. You're right. Also, if Disney had something Monty Python at the parks I would die of hilarity. I mean, they already have Eric Idle at Imagination, they need to bring Michael Palin and John Cleese in!!!

I agree!!! I need to start Exec Producing animated talk shows starring villains!!

I've seen the Hidden Donald! I wrote about it in my last TR. I was overjoyed to finally see it. It's actually Mickey and Donald together. If you want I can give you directions to it. LOL. It's one of my favorites now, so creative!!!

"The person's name that I do not call, must return to the house, back your bags, and go home." "You need to learn how to smize!" "Wanna be on top? Na na na na..."

I think I've watched some of ANTM, don't you think?! :rotfl2:

Love the photobomb! He did good!

I love these revivals. I wish they had a new (old) movie every week or something at the big theatre chains.

They're not chain theatres, but I'm lucky that we actually do have two theatres not too far that do a great job of showing older films on a regular basis, including a LOT of Hitchcock.

The details in ToT = ♥♥♥♥ SO many people just walk right by them and I’m standing there like “I LOVE DISNEY DETAILS SO MUCH OMG.”

Whenever CMs ask trivia questions, I can’t get over the number of people who are clueless about Disney. I mean, I know people don’t go like every year like us Disney freaks, but still. GET WITH THE PROGRAM.

Oh Fantasmic, how I love thee.

The animation in Snow White is incredible, just like in that scene with the Witch. I am just in LOVE with that movie.

Yay for updates!!

Nice pics in ToT! I'm going to have to check out that hidden mickey & board next time around!! Ah! Fantasmic! If only I knew that secret about "standing room only" next time, I'll know. I seriously can't get through that show without crying.

Awesome photobomb! Yes!

Fantasmic, Great Movie Ride AND an amazing Max Goof gif! Excellent update. :thumbsup2 I've never seen the Hidden Minnie, either, so I'll join you in the mambo. Personally, I like when the Great Movie Ride has a bit of a line so you have an excuse to stay and watch the film reels before the loading area. There's always someone in my party unwilling to stand there a minute longer than necessary to enjoy a bit of the classics. Horrible.

Oh, since you love all things Tower of Terror.... Friends went down with a theater group at Thanksgiving and came back with a 'fact sheet' made up by one of the girls. One fact said the back of the Hotel is made up to look a little Morroccan in theme because you can see it from the Showcase Plaza at Epcot if you look across the World Showcase lagoon at Morrocco. Think this is true?

hahaha I used to watch it RELIGIOUSLY but when she chose Caridee over Melrose in that one season I was so mad. Like I took it personally. I haven't watched since. But the earlier seasons are addictive.

YES I love that kid!

That's amazing! A Clearview theatre not too far from here showed a bunch of Hitchcock movies last October and it was AWESOME! I love the revival theatres in NYC too, I just wish that they were more widespread.

I know! I hate how much so many people miss! It's crazy to think of all the things that your average guest does not see.

AGREED.

Me too! Snow White was never one of my top favorites, I was always more into the 90's Disney movies, but as I got older and learned more about film/film history I started to marvel at the animation! All the innovations that Walt & Co did before and better than everyone else. It's just amazing.

Yay for updates!!

YES! I am back baby!!! NO more months in between updates. No sir.

Thank you! Definitely check it out. I'm sure there are details and hidden things I haven't even noticed yet. It just goes on and on!

Yeah, usually any time Disney says something is full... it's not. Unless they literally aren't letting you in, you can probably find a seat!

I'm glad you appreciate my Max Goof gif!! I love him. You are welcome to mambo with me!!

I agree... I love watching all the classic trailers. It gets you in the perfect mood for the ride.

I know for a fact it is true! I have seen it from Morocco and that is accurate. They also do this on the top of certain buildings in Adventureland & Frontierland so that when you are in one land and see the top of a building it doesn't look out of place even from far away. Cause Disney is perfect. :thumbsup2

Subbing - because I've read too much at work and I REALLY want to find this again!! You are an incredibly awesome storyteller! My daughter (14) and I just did a whirwind trip in the 5 days leading up to Christmas - just the two of us and loved it! Reliving the trip through your pics!

Ok, it's pretty unacceptable that it took me so long to know about this. Please forgive me OH QUEEN OF THE POLYNESIAN :worship:

Even though I can't see your magnificent pictures, I'm slowly getting caught up on Livin it Up so I can get here soon.

Thank you SO much! I'm glad you had such a great trip with your daughter. Thanks for joining in. :D

I forgive you! You are welcome at the Poly any time! pixiedust:

Why can't you see the pictures? Is something up? Hmmm

That photobombing kid is PERFECTION!!

Great luck being able to find seats for Fantasmic! even though they said SRO. However, I'm sure experiencing a Hanson concert prepares you for being up close and personal with those around you. :crowded: I know it prepared me quite well for many situations in life!! :lmao: So you probably could have made room anyway!!

It's blocked at work, which is when I spend most of my DIS time...hehe

haha when I had an office job it was 90% of me getting paid to be on Tumblr/Twitter/The DIS honestly.

I know! He will be forever immortalized in this TR as the perfect photobomber.

YOU ARE SO RIGHT. Hanson tours just really prep you for real life situations. You have to be SERIOUS if you want that front row spot hahaha. No one could ever really get this except a true Hanson fan. Oh man... I am so excited, have you heard all about the new album/music video and all? They are NOT messing around in 2013!

Love your new avatar by the way!

I have been following your TR and read about the spinach and artichoke dip/milkshakes at the sci-fi drive in so it was on my list of things to order. Both were AMAZING! Already looking forward to going back and having more ;)

That is so awesome! My purpose on this earth is to inspire people to eat Disney food, so my work here is done.

Day 1, Part 10 In Which Hanson Should Really Back Off

A couple of parting shots of Hollywood before we go eat ourselves to death...

8355952417_050e142aa2_z.jpg

Hollywood... I love you... but uh....

BYE.

IT. WAS TIME. FOR 'OHANA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I mean, the level of happiness going on here was a little ridiculous. It was my first day in Disney, we just had a great day in Hollywood, I had gotten to go on my favorite attraction, and here we were... heading to one of the best restaurants of all time.

It also was just the fact that we were going to the MK resort area. It really is true that Disney is Disney, and no matter which park you attend first, it will be glorious, but there is something about the Magic Kingdom that is IT. Just IT.

As the Polynesian bus we were on started to make its way into the MK resort area, and familiar sights like the Contemporary and *gasp* the Castle came into view, I definitely got a little teary eyed.

I told Lee-Anne about how people make fun of the Contemporary by calling it the "giant toaster", but that I loved it, and she said "I'm sick of hotels that don't look like giant toasters."

*Sigh* She just says the best things sometimes, I don't even know. I need to bring her on all my Disney trips just for her commentary alone basically.

While on the bus, I attached my lei crown to my head. I had forgotten bobby pins, but luckily Lee-Anne had some on her! See, a Queen is nothing without her friends. ;)

I'm a QUEEN!!! Just thought I'd tell you again unless you have some kind of Dory-esque brain disease. The crown I was attaching to my head was given to me last year when I was dubbed Queen of the Polynesian Resort.

If you do not know this story, go here to read about it immediately. You need to be informed of my royal stature before continuing on!

I can't even tell you how bouncy and excited I was to get off the bus and be on the Polynesian grounds! This is one of my favorite resorts, and walking from the bus stop to the doors was honestly one of the best parts of the trip for me!

So, as we were walking, I pointed out the Neverland Club sign to Lee-Anne, since she loves Peter Pan so much.

A few steps later, Lee-Anne stopped dead in her tracks and said "Oh my God. Lia. Look."

I looked around at the beautiful Polynesian Resort before us, and didn't know exactly what she was talking about. I mean, there's a lot to look at in Disney, and Lee-Anne had done that to me about 20 other times that day, excited about something she'd seen. So I just said "What?"

Lee-Anne then GRABBED me, HARD, and said "LOOK."

I looked around again, honestly baffled as to what she could have seen that would cause her to freeze like that. The thought that entered my head was that some random Disney character was walking by or something... but it wasn't that.

Lee-Anne said, "Look. Straight ahead."

I looked straight ahead, saw what she was referring to, and died laughing.

It was Isaac Hanson.

Duh.

I can not even tell you how many times I have been somewhere MINDING MY OWN BUSINESS and Isaac Hanson is standing there. My friends and I have actually had an inside joke that started in 2005 about how he stalks me and lives in a trash can outside my house.

Like... he's just always there.

This time, he was standing near one of Hanson's vans chatting with Will, one of their back-up guitarists.

I didn't really know what to do. Because like, they know me, but not that well. Taylor is really the one who always recognizes me and says hi and just... I'll probably marry him someday but it's not a big deal. Anyway, we just stood there laughing. It was par for the course for us by then but still.

There are those fans who stalk them and look for them everywhere... and then there are people like me, who at this point actively try to avoid them at times (I go to a ton of shows, and I don't want to freak them out, so I'm never the girl asking for a picture every single time I see them), and STILL I run into them!

What can I say, Hanson and I have similar tastes (By the way, if you're not familiar with Hanson's part in this story, please refer back to the intros in the first post!). I have run into them in the most random of places. And now I can add Disney's Polynesian Resort to that list.

It just kills me because of all the places we could have been in Disney, we were there at the exact same moment as Hanson. You know? So much had to go right, to align in the universe, for this to happen. Of the two dozen resorts, of the 100+ restaurants... I chose 'Ohana. I chose the Polynesian. And so did Hanson.

This only further proves that I am going to marry Taylor. He probably planned this. Me and that guy are on the same wavelength, guys. He even played me a song once (That was actually the best thing that has ever happened, on record. Look it up). He's basically the reason why I can't date anyone who didn't get nominated for a Grammy at age 14. Everyone else is a loser.

Eventually, we continued walking, and tried to not make noise or eye contact with Ike or Will. It just would have been too much in that moment to actually stop and be like HEY... so we quickly made our way inside, and just burst out laughing. It was such a hilarious moment. Of course we were in the same place as Hanson. When are we not, really?

I just braced myself in preparation of seeing Taylor. Out of the three of them, he's the one that I've actually spent the most time with and who ALWAYS goes out of his way to do something that just makes me die. I am NOT the kind of girl who like can't calm down around good looking guys and I have met and worked with a million giant celebrities but Taylor Hanson is like an alien or something... he is just too much. Did I mention that I'm IN LOVE with him? So I really *didn't* want to see him in that moment. I was too overwhelmed by everything, I was laughing hysterically, and ALSO, I had a lei on my head and I was holding Hula Timon. I don't need him thinking I am any crazier than he already knows about. (And he knows about a lot.)

So we begin walking around the bend, terrified, and of course Zac walks by us. He gave us a silly look right away. We must have looked absurd, walking around arm in arm, looking scared yet cackling, me decked out in the leis, holding a stuffed toy who was also wearing Hawaiian apparel.

This is my life, people.

I just smiled at him, not because I was trying to be friendly but because I was still laughing. I was actually going to say something to him just cause I felt it would be weird NOT to... but he's more Lee-Anne's person. And I think she was dead at the time, unable to communicate with him. He doesn't get me the way my soulmate Taylor does, you know? Plus, I had an 'OHANA reservation to get to!!!

So we go up the stairs to check in at 'Ohana, looking around for Taylor so that we can be prepared and see him first. Because if he saw us first, I swear, he is like the type to sneak up or do something silly and I did not want to have a heart attack and die before eating 'Ohana's pot stickers. Afterward, fine, I'll accept death. BUT NOT BEFORE.

We checked in early and the CM was bit standoffish and was like "We really don't recommend checking in more than 10 minutes early, but you can take the buzzer and wait anyway." Ok, so... either way you'd give me a buzzer and tell me to wait, so isn't getting here earlier better?

Whatever, she couldn't ruin my over the top giddy mood. We were in Disney. Hanson too. It was just too funny.

I didn't mind waiting at all, I needed to catch my breath and get my life in order before I just collapsed in a pile of hilarity. Again, this happens all time time when we're on the road seeing Hanson, but the fact that it was happening in Disney World just killed us. Lee-Anne and I honestly just kept looking at each other and bursting out into laughter. It was awesome.

Once word got out that I was in the building, crowds started to form and I waved to my loyal subjects.

8357352060_f5f52291e9_z.jpg

It then clicked that obviously Hanson would stay at the Poly, being that I'm the Queen of it and all. Being in Disney, life just starts making sense.

8357015096_f776acd663_z.jpg

Kisses for HT, my soul brother. <3

OH so the following picture is me checking behind the couch we were sitting on because I was afraid Taylor Hanson was crouching behind it.

8357358450_bd2b9bf09c_z.jpg

That may seem crazy to you, but can I just inform you that it would not even be the first time he did something like that to me.

Sigh.

Every time Hanson is involved, my life just gets absurd REALLY quick.

Plus we were in Disney. I don't even know.

Up Next: A meal featuring too much food, too much laughter, too much Hanson paranoia, and the perfect amount of ROYAL TREATMENT!!!! :worship:

I LOVE LOVE LOVE your trip report :rotfl: and Hanson...you're bringing back soo many memories for me. I was obsessed with Hanson in my preteen years, makes me wanna break out all my cd's and start listening to them again, lol. Can't wait to read more :thumbsup2

I just kind of love that you have connections with this band/are secretly (or not so secretly ) going to marry Taylor. :rotfl: Like seriously. You crack me up. WHY ARE YOU THE COOLEST PERSON EVER!?! (and I'm being completely serious. Like even with a lei on your head and a stuffed animal in your hand you are still AWESOME.)

I can't wait to hear about this meal!!!
