I'm Still Confused About Quests & Tours at Disneyland

Do I get the same prizes by finding all the hidden Mickeys and then taking the tour as I would filling out the quest cards? I only have 3 days at DL and I was hoping to do the quest on the first day with my 6 year old DD.

Or ... should I fill out the quest cards too? I understand there are answers somewhere to the quests, right?

I'm leaving tomorrow, but I think I could wing through the hidden Mickey's on a mule fairly quickly.

when you find all the hidden mickeys you get a PDF for a card. the card gets you on the tour. if you want to do the tour the first day you are there this is what i reccomend. then you can reseve the tour right away.

when you do all the quests (fantasy, adventure, critter country, and tomorrow) you get a card for the tour. HOWEVER if you have used your 50 mickey's PDF then you will not get a new tour card.

hope this helps and make sense. :)

What about the prizes? Do you get the prizes on the tour or do you get them for completing the quests?

If it works the same way as FL, answering each quest gets you three cards (with codes for virtual stuff) Doing all three get you the VMK tour card. You can also get the VMK tour card by doing the Hidden Mickey thing on VMK....so the question is do you want the extra cards and VMK stuff? Or you can do the tour and then do the quests later (just won't get the tour again)
They don't differentiate the guests on the tour by how you got onto the tour, everyone is on equal ground to get the cards distributed on the tour.

OK ... I think I follow now. I should take the tour on my first day and pick up the quest cards at the same time (at VMK Central, right?). Do the tour that day with my daughter and then answer the quest cards when I have time during my visit (using the answers on the VMK Players Guide).

OK, I hope I am answering the right question for you.

It sounds as if you are confused about the difference between the tours and the quests.

Each of the four park quests (Fantasyland, Adventureland, Frontierland, and Tomorrowland) have prizes associated with them. There are three prizes for each of these quests (A total of 12 prizes when you finish all of them.) The ONLY way to get these 12 prizes is to complete the quests. You won't get them from doing the tour and, thus, you won't get them from completing the in-game Hidden Mickey game.

Completing all of the quests allows you to register for the VIP tour. Finding all of the Hidden Mickeys ALSO allows you to sign up for the VIP tour. These are the same tour. So finding all of the Mickeys will get you the same tour prizes as anyone else on the tour. Again however, you will not be getting the 12 quest prizes if you do the tour without doing the quests.

SO, what is the advantage of doing the Hidden Mickey's? It allows you to register for your tour faster. You don't have to complete the quest cards and redeem them. At DLR (I am told) this is a VERY important consideration. Doing the Hidden Mickeys allows you to sign up for your tour at the start of your day and then spend the rest of your trip filling out the quest cards at your leisure.

Ok I think what you are asking is that do you get all the Cards by just taking the tour...the answer is NO you only get the Pirates and HM cards + a few others on the Tour.

Yes, and you can turn in the quest cards at anytime during your visit and be sure and make a BIP(born in park) character or 2

Do not forget to print out the Tomorrowland quests...make a few copies.

MaiKoda has a post about this same thing right now more detailed responses in it.

I was typing while SimbaCub posted I think he has it covered.

Also I would copy and pasted the Guide to word and print it up incase you need to refresh your memory.
