I'm staying at the Beach Club Villas

this coming May.. is there anything I should know about these villas.. ex: better rooms/building, request I should make... stuff that would make our stay comfortable?

We stayed at BCV for the first time this past July and LOVED IT. All of the DVC villas are in one bldg. I guess if you want to ask for a particular view you can....ours was of the quiet pool or if you prefer a certain floor maybe. I don't think there are "great views" but we absolutely LOVED LOVED BCV. I hope you enjoy your stay. I am calling in Dec. at our 7th month window to try and book another week in July next year.

We stayed at Beach Club Villas this past May. We were in a studio and had a view of spaceship earth. It was a pretty nice view but it was really far from the elevator. When you have a stroller and little kids, its easier to have a closer room. Originally we were put in a room right off of the elevator. It was a handicapped room and didn't have a tub so we opted to move bc we needed a tub for the girls. The room also had a view of the quiet pool which was closed and under construction.

I really loved the Beach CLub. The smell in the lobby was heavenly and reminded me of my beach vacations as a child. We didn't eat at any of the restaurants there except for the counter service (choices are very limited here). We really loved the close walk to epcot and we ate at several of the countries and it was yummy. We love the Tangerine Cafe at Morocco for lunch. If you are on the dining plan it is a great choice with good food and the backlava is great.

The pool was pretty cool...if you want to use the lazy river though, you have to pay for a float. I thought that was crazy. It wasn't cheap either. We used it at night when some floats were left by people from eariler in the day.

They have marshmallow roasting at night at like 7pm on the beach prior to the movie they play at the beach. While we were there I think they showed Nemo, Pirates and I can't remember what else.

My husband didn't love the Beach Club. He thought the rooms were a little dumpy. I think they are rehabbing some of the units now.

Anyway, enjoy your trip. We loved May in disney. Be sure to bring your misting fans and light clothes because it is HOT HOT HOT.

We've had nothing but great rooms at BCV. I wouldn't call any of them "dumpy".

We're staying there next month! I have heard that some rooms only have partial balconies and that would not be fun. DH and I love to sip wine/coffee on the balcony and take in the sites. We would just love to watch the fireworks from our own private 'observation deck.'

I have requested a full balcony with an Epcot view. I know that it's only a request and I might be disappointed but I'm hoping!

On our most recent visit, the rooms showed a little wear. I wouldn't say dumpy, but in need a refurbishing. But, from what I've heard the BCV are on the list of locations to be updated. You'll have a great time. Upper floors have nice views.

We just got back from SSR and I am worried I will be comparing apples to oranges on that one.. I thought something within walking to Epcot would be a good place to be. (since SSR is having bus troubles)..

I guess you can't have it all, not matter what you try and do..

BCV is not near the waterfront like the BC. It is actually a single building behind the BC. So if you get a pool view, it will be of the Dunes Cove pool and not Stormalong Bay. And the Dunes Cove pool is a very nice view.

Your room at BCV will be very similar to SSR except for the colors in the room. BCV is a little more beachy and less dark thank SSR.

I am sure the walk to SAB wont be that much... at SSR we were in the last building at congress park and had to walk to the main pool/food, etc.. wasn't a bad walk..

You check into BCV at the same place as the Beach Club. When we were there in May they were trying to start checking BCV people right at the entrance of the villas. It was really nice and there was no wait but I guess they decided to stop doing that.

I didn't mean to scare you when I said my husband thought the villas were dumpy. I thought that they were nice.They are older and all hotels get wear and tear but as long as they are clean and I get good service, I am a happy camper. I think BCV and VWL need the rehabbing the most and I believe they are on schedule to be done but I don't know when. I think my husband compares the rooms to the ones at AKV and SSR which is difficult because they are so new that they haven't gotten worn looking yet. I am sure BLT is going to look the best after that one is built too.

You will have a wonderful trip at the BCV, we did.

Check in for the BCV is at the BC main desk, same as BC check in. They did have a BCV check in desk set up over at the villas for a trial period, but closed that after about three months.

The last time we stayed at BCV (a little over a year ago), they had just replaced all the mattresses and the sleeper sofas. The sleeper sofa was pretty comfortable for my son to sleep on. The cushions are not removable and flip under the mattress when you open up the bed. The pillows and blanket are stored in a pocket in the bed that you will find as you open it up.

They are constantly painting (either all new or touching up) at the BCV.
