I'm spoiled! kinda long

Howdy everyone,

This past Friday my BIL and I went to Six Flags Great Adventure here in NJ and it sure ain't Disney.

$10.00 to park, yikes!

There were so many school trips, I really couldn't get over it.

Security was checking people as you went thru the turnstyle, causing huge delays especially with all the kids with backpacks.

I think there were at least 10 rides that were not operational that day and not just small rides but 2 roller coasters.

My BIL is a big guy (6' 5" and a 54" chest) and could not fit into some of the roller coasters.

They have something called Fast lane, kinda like a fasspass but you have to pay for it and I couldn't find a park employee anywhere to explain how it worked. At Disney you can't even spit without hitting a cast member.

The park as a whole was pretty disgusting.

Sorry for the rant but I guess I'm spoiled by Disney,

Yep, Disney will do that to us. Stick to WDW.

We have an amusement park in our city and it is just not the same. The staff is NOT nice by any means. It is usually a bunch of high school/ college kids that thought that it might be a fun summer job. No one really smiles or is helpful. They do allow smoking in the park- which is horrible for us. Although they publicize new attractions and have had a long time to "update" and "renew"- it still seems old and drabby. We do get annual passes for the summer to go to the waterparks for the kids to have something to do. OH, that is another thing...teens and sometimes younger children have annual passes that are dropped off almost on a daily basis while the parents are working. IT is free baby sitting or camps. No parental supervision at all!! I believe they are even trying to have city buses from downtown to offer commuters an easier ride to the park.

On a funnier note, my parents took the family to the state zoo here after we came back from WDW and AK- our DD was not impressed. She said that she had been Disney's Zoo aka Animal Kingdom. It just didn't compare. (Please forgive her, we know that AK is "Nadazu"!)

It is okay to be spoiled-Disney can do that for you! Why lower your standards??
