I'm sorry to beat the golf cart issue to death but...

I need help. I have asked about carts, and I have asked about ECV's, and now I'm dealing with both! Minds keep changing...:headache:

We were not planning on renting a cart because the budget is already overextended, however, DH REALLY wants to rent one. We have a group of 8, so we were planning on renting a larger cart from offsite.

So here is the problem- Dad will have an ECV. Will that cause too much trouble to make the cart worth it?

How would we manage that? Do we have him ride alongside? If we do this, will the bus pass us, thereby negating the time saving purpose of the cart?

DH is always ready early, he offered to leave ahead of the group to drive the ECV and meet the rest of us at the depot (or marina or wherever) Is that practical?

I am afraid that the cart would be more trouble than it is worth because of the ECV.

I apologize again for asking similar questions, but I am trying to make our grand gathering enjoyable and as stress free as possible for everyone!

The ECV must travel on the sidewalks and the golf carts on the road. A golf cart must pull over for regular automotive traffic. That being said, I think your idea of DH leaving a little earlier then everyone else would work out good. We have our own cart that we bring down to FW and have always found it to be quicker to take the cart to the main bus stops then to wait for the internal buses. Plus, it's always fun to drive around and look at all the different camping rigs in FW. It will be worth the extra $. :thumbsup2

It sounds silly but having a golf cart really was an added touch to our trip. We had 12 people in our traveling group with one family in the cabins. We'd zip some to the outpost or settlement while other started walking. Some wanted to ride buses, some wanted to walk, some wanted to ride the golf cart. And the carts come in handy during the rain showers. We too enjoyed cart rides through loops and around the Fort.

We found that buses ran very regularly and there were occasional times we would arrive just as a bus was leaving but we looked at it as more visit time and people watching time.

I think you'll find that the ECV won't slow you down at all and the cart will be a help. Tell your dad not to worry, y'all will catch up with him at the stops in no time.
