I'm so very depressed today.....

....can you please lift me up in prayer? Today is my first birthday ever without my Mother. I have been crying all morning. I have to get my baby up now & I hope I can stop crying long enough to get him up & dressed since I don't want to upset him. I don't know if he'll understand that Mommie is sad but there is just so much pain/void/sadness ~ you name it ~ in my heart today. I miss her so very much.

Don't apologize for your sadness. My mother died 26 years ago -- one year before my first child was born. I missed her terribly throughout my pregnancy and I would have given anything to have had her there when I brought my son home.

Your grief is very normal, but I'm sure you already know that. And don't worry too much about upsetting your son -- little ones are not only resilient, they are very compassionate. He will probably give you a hug to make you feel better. And remember, he will see many of life's ups and downs. Your job, as his mother, is not necessarily to always protect him from such things, but to teach him how to handle them. Frankly, I think it would be much sadder if your mother's absence meant nothing to you -- your heartache is a tribute to her.

I'm sorry to hear that you're feeling so sad today.. It's rough when we no longer have a parent here.. My Dad has been gone a number of years yet sometimes the pain is so raw it feels like only yesterday that he passed away..

I'm sending a BIG hug your way - along with a prayer that you will get through today with as little pain as possible..

I wish I had a "bear" story to tell you - but I'm not headed up there until Saturday morning..

Just hug your baby as tight as you can and know that your Mom is still right there with you - even if it's only in spirit...
