here's the story of last night. I didn't win the backstage passes
At the concert, I didn't sit with anybody from my group (I went alone because Roger stayed with the kids.) After the concert, I came out into the parking lots and couldn't find our bus anywhere (when we parked, we were told we needed to be back at the bus 30 minutes after the concert ended or they'd leave without us but they forgot to tell us what lot the bus was in. So, I was searching the parking lots and asking parking lot attendants if they had any idea where the bus might be ("I don't know, maybe that lot" was what I heard about three different lots.) Well, this guy ran into me while I was searching. I was at the end of my rope and I looked up to fuss at him for running into me and I was looking into a face that I had seen before. This person (I'll tell you who it was at the end of the story) asked me what was wrong. I said "I won a radio contest to come down here on a bus and I can't find the bus and now I'm going to be stuck in Virginia Beach when I belong in Richmond." He said "No, you're not. Come with me.", took me over to the security/guest services booth, told them what had happened, and actually waited with me for them to figure out what to do. They ended up finding one of the security guards who had driven all the way from Richmond for the concert and she took me home. As I was leaving, the guy who had run into me gave me a kiss on the cheek and told me I should smile more because I looked very pretty when I did so. He also gave me a t-shirt because it was raining when I first got to the concert and I was soaking wet. The guy was............
Kenny Chesney
Before the concert, Lori Kelly (the female disc jockey who was with us) had told us that he is "infamous" for walking around the parking lots after concerts to see whether people notice him or whether he gets overlooked (bad pun, because he's pretty short for a guy) in the crowd. I never expected to run into him, though. I also got an autograph (of course.) My minor crush has gotten to be a major crush now. He's a really nice guy and not conceited at all. He's also pretty funny.
