We just got home today from our trip to WDW. WE planned for a year and I had all the right ressies. We were going to celebrate our DD 3rd birthday with a PSB. I was so excited after 2 weeks of calling I finally got our PS for 6.
Well, our DD caught a stomach virus and spent the next 4 days in the room throwing up. I had to cancel our PSB 45 minutes before we were suppose to show up. (THey were nice enough not to charge us when we explained the situition). I was literally crying. We took our DD to the Urgent Care clinic and the Dr. said we just had to wait it out. We were definately not feeling the "magic".
The only bright spot is that now we are GOING TO HAVE TO GO BACK and do show our DD what a truly magical place WDW really is.

I'm so sorry. Our first family trip to the World - our whole family had a horrible virus that kept us from doing much of anything other than staring at each other in our Beach Club hotel room and thinking about how much money we were flushing down the toilet!

I swore I'd never go back - I was TOO sad....but as you can see, I'm going again...determined to have fun!!!!

I hope your next trip more than makes up for it!

I'm so sorry!! We also ended up room-bound because of a stomach bug on our trip 2 weeks ago. There are some nasty bugs going around at Disney! I hope she is better, and I know you will very much enjoy your next trip!!

Hi! Nice to see a fellow Arkansan on the boards. There aren't too many of us around here! :sunny:

I'm sorry things didn't work out, but it gives you a great excuse to go back - as if you really needed an excuse! I hope you did manage to have some fun before or after she got sick!

Oh that is tough.
Almost the same thing happened to us last June, except we had ressies for CRT!

We had to cancel 40 mins before our PS because DS was so sick (fever, throwing up, etc)

That is nice that they didn't charge you though, they still charged us!

Sorry to hear about all these viruses ruining your trips. We have been fortunate enough to not have any stomach viruses while we were there. On our first trip, we all got it the week we were to drive down. As a matter of fact, I was the last one to get it 2 days before we left. Fortunately, I got the mildest version of it and was able to drive down with any problems other than anything I ate not tasting right. By the time we we arrived at our friends home in Lakeland, we were feeling much better. We spent a few days with them before checking in at the Wilderness Lodge and having one of the best vacations ever!

I am so sorry to hear that. It also happened to us when DS was 4. We had planned and dreamed and it was to be 'the most memorable birthday ever'! Well, 2nd day there he gets 104 temp and it goes downhill quickly. I don't know who cried more - me or him. But, we were at the Contemporary and they were very accomodationg - we had no car so they had a valet drive us to the doctor and wait with us. We checked out 2 days early because this was a long, weeklong virus and they refunded our money. It is now 8 years later and he has no memory of that awful trip but plenty of wonderful ones spent there to last a lifetime. Just start planning today for the next time.
Good luck.
