I've been trying to help a friend and my sister rent points and it's so hard!!! I've responded to so many posts on the rent/trade board and I'm having a hard time finding an owner to help me! I liked the old days when we could post what we were trying to rent! SOOOOOO much easier!

I couldn't imagine trying to rent points often...I'd go nuts!

It's our favorite place to be! We can go whenever we want to go, which is 2 or 3 times a year; it never gets "old" or boring, there's too much fun to be had NOT to go back again and again,

I LOVE the jacquzzi tub, savannah views at AKV, standard room option at BWV, bringing our family, bringing our friends, having it for the next umteen years for our children's future, etc., etc., etc.!!!:cool1::cool1::cool1:

I just priced the cheapest room at the Poly at $415 a night.:scared:
Couldn't bring myself to book it.:rolleyes1

... because I vacation often in a Magical Place:wizard: that let's me forget my worries for a few days while I sit on my balcony to watch giraffe and zebra roam the savanna, sip coffee on my balcony overlooking a lake, watch Wishes fireworks from my balcony with the soundtrack on my TV, relax by a warm fireplace on a chilly night, snooze by the pool on a warm afternoon, dine at some really good restaurants, and get my Hoop De Doo on;). Nowhere can you vacation that offers the opportunity to attend so many shows, nightly fireworks displays, and experience how other cultures celebrate life. At Disney I can do it all or do nothing at all. These things and more help me recharge my batteries for my busy life at a place that feels like HOME! :cloud9:

OP -- You can google DVC rentals and probably find some reliable sources for renting points. Although I'm not sure I understand the connection between your thread title and the gist of your message. There are other forums that have pretty clear rental wants and offer info.

But for the title of the thread -- I just got back from an off-site stay with DGS (which was fine but a little was missing), and we ended up missing any evening fireworks, because it's gotten harder for me to drive at night. If we were onsite, we could have taken the bus back to a park in the evening, and then back home again without my worrying about that. I like the freedom of driving back and forth, so prefer that in the daytime, though. (Although sometimes, it's awful waiting for the bus for the return trip).

I think there may be a little self-pride in being a DVC member also -- I'm glad that I can afford to be one, and to be able to visit Disney more often than most people can. I just bought a new car, and it gave me a little "glow" inside when I put my DVC member magnet on it! (I have so little chance to "show off").

My friend told me about disboards and I am not addicted. It is great to "meet" other DVC members. MY DH bought me MORE points for our wedding gift when we got married because he realized my obsession. So I love being a DVC member because I can travel everywhere and anywhere. DH, DD (7) and I go offen to WDW but we have gone to Venice, Paris, Vero, Hilton Head, CA and more... I love to travel and I love that my DD is loving traveling. I want to show her to world and DVC helps me do just that. But my heart still is "home" when at WDW. I have never gone to Welcome Home Wednesday. Has anyone tired it? Worth going?

:) I can smile secretly to myself when other people are trying to make Disney plans....knowing that WDW is my second home....:cloud9:
