I'm so excited! Just booked the hotel for our FIRST EVER Disney trip!

April 25-May 2 2009

Port Orleans Riverside, Alligator Bayou requested.

2008 price quoted was $1488.41 for the room, but that's a higher price point than the time we're actually going, so it will go down when they adjust...

I'm booking flights seperately, as Disney is over $1K more.:faint:

So far it's looking like it's going to be around $1500 for the 5 of us, which I didn't think was too bad, flying out of Detroit to save some hassle....

I have to phone back in late July to add our dining and tickets (Magic Your Way base tickets plus dining).

Oh oh, You will find it is addictive. Be prepared to start thinking about your next trip as soon as your first is over;) . POR is a great resort, we enjoyed it both times we were there. This time we are trying CSR, it better be as good, Amy wants to try something different.

Have fun planning.

Chris.

Congrats to your and our family Laura!! You will have such a wonderful time. You even get lots of time to start planning, which is a part of the fun, in my book!!

We have stayed the POFQ, but the Riverside is lovely to.

May I ask how old your kids are? Will you be doing any character meals or princess things?

We flew with Sunwing this past January, out of Toronto and paid $562 for the three of us! They have amazing deals, you just have to watch for them. We had seriously thought of flying from Buffalo, but in winter it is a risk. So, Sunwing worked extremely well for us.

Have fun and please share your details as you go along!!

I booked our flights yesterday through Orbitz...$1598 for 5 of us (my Mom is coming now too) return, including insurance. I thought that was pretty good. I'm relieved to have it bought and paid for...I was so worried about the prices skyrocketing with the ongoing oil situation. We're flying out of Detroit...the prices from Toronto, Hamilton and London were insane....more than double that. And Detroit's closer for us than T.O.

I debated between buying now or waiting for deals...but with the oil/fuel unrest, I felt better having it *done* and locked in. I'll just have to resist looking from now on so I won't be kicking myself!;)

My girls will be 10 and 6 when we go...we're doing the Bibbity Bobbity salon, plus lots of character stuff. Poor dh is just going to have to deal, lol.:rotfl:
