I'm so confused...

I'm sorry if this is in the wrong place I'm so confused can you just clarify what I need to do in simple terms. I want to rent points do I just post this on the renting section of the site?? Also do you have to pay the member in full or just pay a deposit like a normal holiday booking??

You will need to respond to a DVC member offering to rent points ("Points for Rent") on the DVC Rent/Trade Board. You will need to either negotiate terms that you are satisfied with or find a member initially with terms that are acceptable to you. Each member is free to set terms they are happy with too regarding deposits, final payment and cancellations. Be sure to read the informational threads stuck at the top of the DVC Rent/Trade Board as they have a lot of good information for those interested in renting on our site.

If you know what resort you will want, look for a member able to make your reservation. Members are able to reserve at their Home Resort 11 months in advance and at other resorts 7 months before the arrival date. If you want to make a reservation more than 7 months ahead, you will need to find a member who owns at that resort - otherwise any member can make your reservation within 7 months.

You can go to the Rent/Trade board and reply to a post from a member who has points for rent. The Dis no longer allows people to post "Reservations Wanted" threads.

As for payment, each owner will have their own requirements. Also, remember to ask about cancellation or change policies. Many owners do not offer refunds in the event a renter needs to cancel. It is best to ask what those are when you reply to a post. Good luck!
