OMG!!!!!! I just watched it. I wasn't going to but I did anyway. It was so upsetting! How can anyone do that to a child, let alone a mother!?!?!?! I hope she's found soon. And not by the cops. The the citizens take care of her, then call the cops.

That poor poor baby, my heart breaks for her. Why do people like this have children? I pray they find her and get that poor baby to somebody who will love her. Sadly this kind of thing happens every day, we just don't get to see the videotape.

edited to add, I can't bear to see that tape, I saw a snippet on a news commercial last night and I'm sick over it.

It's horrible. I just hope the little girl was not seriously injured, since I'm sure the mom wouldn't take her in for medical treatment at this point.

Authorities identified the 25-year-old woman as Madelyne Gorman or Madelyne Toogood and the child as her daughter Martha Toogood.

Madelyne, may you suffer like you've made your poor baby suffer, only 1000 times more so.

The other woman, her sister, is in jail charged with failure to report child abuse

Somehow I am very glad that I haven't seen the news clip on this yet. It just breaks my heart to hear about this and I am truly sickened to know tht the sister is not cooperating

She is from Dallas but they said they are transients. Who knows where they are but everyone is going to be looking out for them. That was just awful.

Doxdogy - good point - it happened so fast though..by the time they got out to the parking lot, I'm sure she was gone..

MosMom - transients? really? How then does she afford a van like that? The news said the mother (like she deserves that title) tried to return alot of clothing for cash at Kohl's but was refused for some reason. I wonder if she took that out on the daughter..

I hope it's not too late for this little girl....I hope civilizations will help police locate her....then deal with the mother. If I were in that parking lot, I'm sure I would have risked serious injury to myself...but I definitely think it would have been worth it! I'm sure we all feel that way
