I'm sick of rebate problems!

For years, I have sent in rebates from Office Max and other stores, without any problems. I make a copy of all that I send and the check comes in the mail.

Well, a new Best Buys opened this fall in a nearby town and we have made some significant purchases. Every single one has been returned for insufficient info. Every one! We are going to lose $250 from botched rebates.

When I got the first nitification that I did not include the barcode (which I know I did!!!), I lost the arugument. I kissed $80 goddbye.

We just received 3 more, totaling $170. One is for a missing serial number on Dh's new digital camera for a free 64mb smart media card from Olympus. The rest is for 2 new cell phones from motorola for missing barcodes. DH distinctly remembers putting down the serial number and I distinctly remember cutting up the boxes to get the numbers for both phones.

After all these years, I know that I am not that inept in sending in simple rebates. These are not directly from Best Buys, but from specific vendors. Arguing does not good. We have copies of what we sent but we may not make the resubmssin deadline.

Most of the time they have a way to resubmit and the deadlines don't matter, especially if you have copies. Don't give up, it took me almost a year and sending the documentation 4 times to get one rebate from Staples. If it hadn't been $150 I might have given up.

The rebate required 4 barcodes, the worst was when I called for a status and they told me that I had only sent a copy of 1 barcode. When I had copied them I put them all on one page rather than have 4 different pages with a barcode. There was no way they could have gotten just one

I've never had any trouble with Best Buy, usually get the rebates pretty promptly.

Don't give up Claudia. Perhaps you could fax your copies to them, do they have a fax number listed?

I hope you get your rebates. I wouldn't give up on that $80 either, especially if I had copies of what I sent.
