I'm scared about DME - I think I am going to use Happy Limo - mistake?

I am really scared about all of these reports I have been hearing about magical express. I just saw a bad report on Mousesavers as well. I am not nuts about putting out the $ when DME is free, but I don't think I want to spend the next few months worrying excessively about this "free" service. (by the way, I don't look at it as free if it is going to suck up all of my time!). My trip isn't until November, maybe I will evaluate again at the end of the summer - maybe then DME will be smooth sailing. :confused3

I think you should be patient and see how it goes. I think it will get better over the next few weeks and run as it should. In November, I would expect that it will be running as intended.

and I called Happy Limo this morning. However our trip is in 2 weeks! I may use ME the next time, but right now I think I'm going to wait until they get the kinks worked out of the system.

I'm using a towne car service as well. I hope ME gets it all ironed out, but I really don't want to take the chance with my one vacation this year. I'd rather pay for the peace of mind, knowing I'll have easy transport to my hotel.

I really wouldn't worry about the problems that some ME users experienced during the first few days. I'm sure that Disney will get their act together and mail the tags in time and will get all computer systems and scanners functioning properly. That, in turn, will greatly improve the luggage handling from the airport to the resorts. And I'm sure that Welcome Center check-ins, as well as motor coach scheduling, will soon be much smoother and better. I think ME wll be a very good service as the Disney CMs and subcontractors gain experience, and as the bugs are worked out.

However, even if ME operates as it's supposed to, it will never be as good as a private towncar.

For people who pay hundreds of dollars per night extra to stay at a deluxe resort, it would seem to make sense to spend around $100 for the personal luxury of towncar. It's a great way to begin and end a deluxe WDW vacation.

You know what - you are right. What's a $100 is the big picture of a WDW vacation? I should just schedule Happy Limo & be done with it. Nothing like the ease of using a towncar!

We leave June 6th and have been nervously reading the reports of problems. Much as I like the idea of saving $$ I am beginning to wonder if the worry and stress are worth it. :confused3

I was scared too! I decided that my peace of mind was worth the $100, so I booked Fl Tours. There is no way I want to waste 2-3 hours of my vacation waiting for a shuttle bus. I would rather have the ride and not have to worry!

Music to my ears. Sounds like there will be less competition for busses when we get there a week from Sunday!

Just purused this thread and several others regarding MExpress. I think it is silly to fear the inconvience of this new service, you should expect it. As the old addage goes "you get what you pay for". I think the ME is a great marketing/business tool for WDW and will be embraced and utilized by many, and in fact will help lots of people with their WDW budget. With that said, and at the risk of sounding snotty, I would not personally utilize this service, as in the overall scope of our WDW planning/budget a car service just makes sense for us. By the way we always use Happy LImo and have never been disappointed.
