Hello Hello

I still owe everyone the remainder of Nov 2010 and May 2011..... but it's time again for me to go!! This trip is different, special, and thrown together in 12 weeks!!

WE'RE GETTING MARRIED!!!

So yeah, last you knew, I was having a big Disney wedding in November 2012. Well planning and waiting was stressing me out (that's a sugarcoated way of saying it ), so one night, a light bulb went off. I grabbed my calculator and my phone, texted DF and asked, "Wanna get married this November?" That Monday morning I was on the phone and had them erase the dates they were saving, canceling the photographer, the dress steamer, the spa, etc. I then booked our Memories Collection wedding for just the 2 of us on the Polynesian Beach!! No guests, just us, fun stuff, food and wine, and Christmas time! Tossing all this together in a few weeks has had me crazy--but once we get there--it'll be worth it!! :woohoo:

So... I'm Deena, he's Dave. We both work 2 jobs, play softball, and enjoy dining out. Working so much can get hectic (which is why I'm behind on TR's, lol), and we enjoy 2 or 3 Disney get-a-ways per year!! It's our happy place

As some know--we normally do the DxDDP. Well we're only doing it part of the time this time--if I could book it all again I would have done it the whole time. I miss it already.

I was trying to be budget friendly. Being that we literally threw this wedding together in no time--the funds we normally would have spent on a trip were a little thinner than normal. This may make for an interesting TR because we may... GASP... be eating some (insert scary music here) counter service. We've spoiled ourselves on the DxDDP for a few years now, so it's not that we're snobs--we're just used to all Table Service. I'm also looking forward to tearing up the Food and Wine Festival!! We were always too full on the DxDDP to mess with it! I even made a spreadsheet

Here's some highlights from May! Our May trip was so hot and humid that it took all the fun out of the food. We were miserable and I was dehydrated. This time we're hoping to enjoy it more!! Here's some photos:

Oh yikes :( This took way longer than I thought. It's been an eventful 4 months, but I'm going to try to bust some of this out tonight. The holidays got in the way, then we took our first trip to Disneyland which was beyond amazing, then one of my jobs is closing and it's been super crazy/stressful/busy, and I've been planning for our upcoming May trip to WDW. I have been working on the wedding and honeymoon reports, and this one kind of fell off the map. Let's try to revive a little!!

Remember this was from November 2011, so although the F/W festival is long gone, hopefully it'll get those who want to book for this year excited!

I have a little snack plate, and a cup of Topsy Turvy tea all ready, and I'll be getting started in a minute!!

Day 1

The morning started out at the Cincinnati Airport. We had Chik-fil-a for breakfast, and some Delta cookies on the flight. Instead of ME, we had a town car booked for this trip since I wanted to be sure my wedding stuff didn't get lost.

There was a little check in drama that seemed way more escalated when it was 24 hours before my wedding. If the same scenario happened today, I would have shrugged it off. Anywho, we had booked a Tower-MK View room at the Contemporary, and we ended up in a Garden Deluxe King with Tower Club access. The room ended up being better for getting ready for the wedding, and they were very generous in offering CL access for the mix up. I wouldn't hesitate to reserve that room again. We got settled in, took care of some business, went up to the 14th floor lounge to check things out, and decided to head to Epcot.

Although we go during Food and Wine every year, we never had more than a drink or two from the booths because we always were too full from the DxDDP. This year, we decided we were doing F/W for meals no matter what. I can't believe we've been missing out!!!

Before I start posting--a little reminder that I am picky, have a sensitive stomach, and have food allergies. Lots of my meals will be adapted, so hopefully this helps people who have the same issues as I do!

Okay... here we go!

Shrimp on the Barbie - Good, too spicy for my taste--but good.
IMG_1592-1.jpg

Beef with Chimichurri Sauce - DH's... he liked it
IMG_1593-1.jpg

Ropa Vieja and Jerk Chicken Drumstick. The Ropa Vieja was my favorite F/W item!! I bought the cookbook to make it at home! The jerk chicken was spicy for me, but DH liked it.

Dragonberry Drink - Good, but I can't have too much coconut.. DH finished it
IMG_1594-1.jpg

DH's Steak Taco -- MM he liked it
IMG_1596-1.jpg

China's Shrimp and Noodles (eh, okay), and Chicken Skewer (eww).

IMG_1599-1.jpg

Apple Streudel --- AMAZING, I loved this!!
IMG_1601-1.jpg

I'm not much of a drinker...
IMG_1602-1.jpg

IMG_1603-1.jpg

DHs yummy cannoli
IMG_1604-1.jpg

Lobster Claw and Pumpkin Mousse.... both Fantastic!!
IMG_1605-1.jpg

All the yummy things and I wanted this
IMG_1608.jpg

We were pretty full after all of that! It really did make a fun lunch. It was a Wednesday, so the crowds were almost non-existant. We walked up to most of the booths with no wait. It all moved pretty fast. I can't wait to go back this year!!

Not that I'm soliciting... but if you want the whole story... the TR is on the wedding board :goodvibes

So it was the night before the wedding and we decided to just stay in and get room service. We had never had room service before, and the Contemporary's did not disappoint. We really liked everything!

Everything was just as we ordered. Comfort food :) Nothing crazy fancy, and just what we needed. Later we went up to the lounge and watched fireworks--the view was amazing!!

Day 2 (Wedding Day)

DH is not a breakfast eater. I went up to the lounge alone to have some breakfast. It was pretty standard CL food. It was nice and peaceful there, and I sat alone at a table gathering my thoughts. I had some toast, a yogurt, some fruit, a coffee, and some OJ.

I talked to a few CMs before I left, and they gave me a tray to fill up with stuff for while I was getting ready. I also got DH some breakfast. Even though he says he doesn't eat breakfast... I knew he would want something. We wouldn't be eating until 2:30 or 3pm.

Just a few pix as requested...

Toward the end of pictures... I was ready to eat my arm off. The kind of starvation that makes you dizzy and sick. So we went straight to the lounge for a healthy meal :rotfl2:

It was delish, lol. Our dinner reservations were at 5:45 at the California Grill, so it was enough to take the edge off. It was around 2:30. I really didn't want to eat a big meal at that point as I wanted to show up to dinner with an appetite.

DH's plate looked about the same. When we got back to the room, we were pixie dusted with:
