I've been talking about so many non Disney topics lately that I'll have to start posting on other's people's threads on this board :)

I just found out! It's not exactly planned, but it wasn't really prevented either  and I'm so excited!!

And nervous....

I already have a few pregnancy related questions if anybody that likes talking about this stuff wants to indulge me:

My last period was 10/25 and I have yet to take a prenatal vitamin? Is that really bad? Besides starting my prenatal vitamins today; is there anything I should do?

Also, I whacked my pelvis pretty good today at work. We have turnstyles (like at an amusement park) that you have to walk through to get in and out of the building that are activated by a swipe card. My swipe card didnt' register and I hit myself in the pelvis pretty hard. It hurt for a couple minutes...Should I be worried?

Thank you for entertaining my irrational questions and have a great day!

How exciting. Congratulations!

My wife's OB when we called about a possible pregnancy immediately called in a prescription for prenatal vitamins for us to fill right away even before coming in to the office. They want to get you on them as soon as possible. Call your doctor!

With regards to the pelvis issue - I don't think it should be a problem. An ER doctor explained it to my wife after we were in a car accident - your womb is the best built insulation device in the world. Can't hurt to mention it to your Dr, but I can't see it being an issue.

Congrats... and don't worry get to the docs but call first to get vits...

:cool1:

Congratulations! :cheer2: I have had that happen to me and it hurts. You are probably about 4 weeks pregnant, I would say that the embryo is well protected. When you see your doctor, just mention it.

No you shouldn't be worried. Baby is too small to be affected by the hit. I was told that the womb is the worlds best shock absorber. It would need significant trauma to even be cause for concern.

As far as the vitamins. Take them as soon as possible. You cannot change what you didn't do, you can just do something now.

Due to morning sickness I didn't take prenatals for a few months with both pregnancies. While not the best scenario, I still had healthy babies. In fact my last one was almost 9.5 pounds--so the 5 months of morning sickness and 2-3 months of no vitamins didn't affect her one bit :).

But it is better to take those vitamins!

ETA: I forgot...CONGRATULATIONS!!!

Can't help you with the questions...I'm a guy, but CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!! :cool1:  :Pinkbounc :cheer2: :bounce: :dancer: :thewave:

Congratulations! About the vitamins, don't be so worried. I didn't take them for the first 3 months of my pregnancy due to morning sickness. I was able to take my regular vitamin.

Regarding wacking the pelvis.... I wouldn't worry too much.

CONGRATULATIONS!! That is just wonderful news! Sounds like you'd be about 7 weeks along (without actually pulling out a calendar to look :teeth: )

Don't worry about the whack, but try not to do that again & start taking a multi-vitamin right away... I just took a regular vitamin til I saw the doctor....

Congratulations! How exciting!

Ditto on the pelvis thing. That baby is well-protected. Mention it to your doctor when you have your first visit. If there is a lot of pain, bleeding or cramping, call right away.

Don't worry about the vitamins, either. You are a little over 6 weeks along and many people don't even know they are PG until now. (I didn't with #2). Take them from now on and you should be o.k. Were you taking a multivitamin with folic acid before you got PG? That is the most important nutrient.

The vitamins made me constipated. So my midwife said I could eat Total cereal every day instead of taking the vitamin. I had no problems after that! :goodvibes

Congrats!!

You can also get vitamins from Wal-Mart, Target, your local grocery store, etc. My doc said they are the same thing usually as they would prescribe.

Now how come I didn't know about this?

*jots this down in her stuff to remember next time book* ;)

Congratulations on entering a wonderful phase of your lives! :flower:

Congrats.

And like everybody else said, take the vitamens as soon as possible, but don't worry that you haven't taken them until now. I didn't start taking them till I was nearly 12 weeks pregnant because I didn't even KNOW I was pregnant until then. :goodvibes

There are lots of things to read at this stage..I suggest "The Girlfriend's Guide to Pregnancy". :) It's a good read and fairly amusing.

You also may want to investigate whether or not you'd like to do this naturally (no pain meds) or medicated (with an epidural, etc). Both are good in their own way..it's totally up to you and how much pain you think you can handle. I don't think either way is worse than the other, tbh.

If you decide for whatever reason you don't want to breastfeed..IT"S OK. Really. Don't let the b00bie bullies get you down and tell you you're a horrible parent if you decide to formula feed. Lots of mothers FF and their kids turn our fine. Trust me. ::yes:: I was formula fed and I'm..well..relatively ok. DS was formula fed and he's ok. Formula is not poison. It's the next best thing to breastmilk. If you can BF and you want to..hoooray! I hope you're successful. If not, FF is nothing to feel guilty over. Really. ::yes::

I hope you have a Motherhood Maternity near you. They have the CUTEST maternity clothes for a decent price. :)

If you haven't been visited by the b00bie fairy yet..trust me. You will be and you may or may not like it. ;)

Any other questions, feel free to PM me. :) I'll be happy to answer them.
