I'm planning my first trip to Disney and any advice would be just wonderful!

Some of the newer electric heaters might be ok but the old ones if they would get tipped over could cause a fire. Also many heaters that I have seen are not enclosed. I would think that disney would have some sort of policy against using these just because they would not know what their guests might bring and the liability involved. Lets face it not everyone has common sense.

Also electric heaters are not the safest with kids around. Esp. in a tent you would have no way to block the heater so that a kid can not accidentally touch or run into it. A little easier to do at home with more room to work with.

I live in PA where it does get cold and we do have mtns. I still would not use a heater. I would bring extra blankets or an electric blanket even. I also would not tent camp if it were going to be too cold out. Better safe than sorry.

Well like I said thats your opinion but I will also tell you we have Small Vornado electric heaters that are enclosed and you can put your hand anywhere on them and you will not get burnt at all also they shut off if they tip over so really no danger at all. Everyone has to make there own decisions:thumbsup2.

Thanks for all the great responses everyone!!

$100 seems cheap for gas.

I wish I was budgeting $100 for gas!!

I have budgeted $700 for gas, it was about $600 on the gas counter website and then I added another $100, just to be safe.

We are splitting the gas between my friend and I, so $350 each.

So far the cheapest flights I've been able to find from Halifax to Orland are just under $500 each (taxes and everything in).
So it would be $1000 for my son and I, plus $1500 for her crew,to fly. :headache:

Works out cheaper to drive by quite a bit.

Oh ok. LOL Sorry I misplaced the other gas expense. Going back and reading again I see where you had that listed. Sorry about that. Yeah wouldn't it be nice if gas was that cheap again. :) Wow flights out of Canada are expensive aren't they. Have you looked into perhaps driving to the closest airport here in the states and flying the rest of the way? I know I have read a lot of posts from canadians posting they drive to buffalo-most are near the border though and fly down to florida from there and it is much cheaper than driving the whole way. Not sure if this would work for you or not but might be something to look into.

Also I do not know how often you come into the states so I just wanted to give a heads up to check into the passport requirements since they keep changing esp. if you and the rest of your party do not have one yet.
