I'm Over 500 Posts...So Why Didn't My Tag Change to DIS Veteran???

Just wondering why my tag hasn't changed since I hit 500 posts. Correct me if I am wrong, but shouldn't it change to DIS Veteran at this count? Do I have to do something special to make it change over? Thanks for any insight!

Since the Tag Fairy has visited you, you have a customized and colored user title that won't change automatically.

I "earned my ears" and moved up to Mouseketeer somewhere around 75 posts. You are not far off and I think yours will change automatically. You can have a countdown in your siggie, you just need to make one and copy and paste it into your siggie. Check out the Tech Board. There should be some websites listed there for your countdown timer.

I think the question might be: since you've passed 500 will it automatically change even if you resetyour tag? Or does it only automatically happen when you move from 499 to 500?

I'm in the same boat. I've asked a mod to change it, but it's been a few weeks and no change thus far.

So mods... Can I be a DIS Vet too?

yeah, I'm worried that if I reset my tag in order to reflect DIS Veteran, that I might lose my tag underneath it that was given to me by the Tag Fairy. I think if there was nothing else underneath 'Mouseketeer', it probably would have already changed on its own when I hit 500 posts.

Could be worse. I lost my "Mouseketeer" entirely when I was tagged. For a while I was wondering why everyone but me had either Earning my Ears, Mouseketeer or DIS Vet under their names.

Okay, on my Avatar, look under Mouseketeer and you will see my tag from the Tag Fairy. The infamous TAG FAIRY lurks on the boards and I guess if something that you post strikes their fancy, they will quote you and put it in a tag for all to see!

So now I have to explain mine.

Awhile back, I posted on one of those Get to Know You survey threads. One of the questions was "One night in a bar..." and you fill in the rest. I posted that after a business trip to N.O., everybody in our office went out on Bourbon Street. We all handed our purses and jackets to our boss and headed up on stage to dance. Well, I got tagged with that one!
A tag is a good thing to have, so I don't want to lose it by resetting Mouseketeer to DIS Veteran.

So watch what ya say, you could be wearing it forever!!!!!

I think the tags look cool, even though since I am a "newbie" it will be awhile before I get any. I love the "sparkling" name sigs, wish I had one.

The automatic titles ("earning my ears", "mouseketeer", "dis vet") will only appear if you do not have a custom user title under your name.

A custom title can be something that you type in yourself (in which case it will be black), or may be colored text that is only bestowed by the Tag Fairy (at her whim, she does not take requests ).

If you have a colored tag from the Tag Fairy, any changes that you then make to your custom title will make the the Tag Fairy's work go "poof"!

If you have a custom title (either do-it-yourself or from the Tag Fairy) and you DELETE it, you will then get whatever automatic title has been set for the number of posts you have.
