Thoughts and prayers are with you and your family! I pray the shots help relieve the pain!!

Sent you PM about the shirt...

Hi Julie!!

It was so fun to finally meet and I feel like we've been friends for a long time. :goodvibes Of course I didn't think to take a pic of us either and my camera was in my purse too!

Julie did make an absolutely adorable Scrappie original for me to use after our upcoming Spring Break trip:

Can't wait to fill it with pics after vaca. I'm embarassed to say I arrived empty handed. Sorry Julie!

Sounds like you have a fairly workable solution to your shirt dilema, hope it works out!

Sounds like a great way to spend a morning Julie! :goodvibes

Yes it was Missy...and considering it was snowing..it was extra nice not to be dreary at home.

How wonderful to have a lovely Dismeet. :goodvibes More good luck for the shirt situation!

It was great...and I laughed later that we barely talked Disney..:rotfl2:

Quick funny tid bit to share...I am sure as most other Disers would agree when Disney is on the brain you see little hints everywhere...

like anyone see that Office Max truck w/ the big rubberband balls on it and the 3 on the back make a perfect Hidden Mickey ? (of course I never have my camera then...)

or like today I went on the weatherchannel.com site and in the little city/zipcode serch box it tells you to enter that info or a place and do you know what place it mentions....:confused3

Disney World of course....:thumbsup2

Have a good rest of Your Disney Night!

Scrappie

Julie, do you find yourself checking Disney's weather after you check yours when you go to the Weather Channel site? I always do just because it is so easy. :lmao:

Orlando is one of the cities I pre-set into my weatherchannel.com app on my phone! I love checking the weather in Orlando... especially when it's 20 degrees here!

And I know exacty what you're talking about! Just a few minutes ago there was a commercial on tv for rice cakes. Three rice cakes fell onto the screen and can you guess what shape they made when they landed... :rolleyes1

not all the time...but when it get's closer I sure do...but anytime I stay up for the news and the weather report I always glance down at my favorite peninsula and wish I was there...well except in the rainy season ;)

I know what you mean about when it's cold here...weather envy :thumbsup2 and Mickey and rice cakes...now that's not something you'd put to gether often...:rotfl2:

Ok It is time to get back into the Disney ZONE….

I will get some notes together and little fun tidbits together next week to give you all some February FUN as we enter 9 months and counting down...

* my two days of looking thru the cake threads...

* reading thru the 2010 Unofficial Guide and what new notes did I make

* Matt's injury and if I have to I'll push you in a wheelchair...but Julie I won't be able to ride Dinosaur, MS or KJS....

* Some updates to my BLOG

and on my Trip's TO-DO list for FEB:

* type out needed info from my pre-pre planning notebook to the the binder

oh and Why did Micheal ask " what does risque mean?"

have a good Disney weekend!

Scrappie J~
I was at the ESPN ZONE over the weekend as part of a Bachelorette Party for my future SIL…she is a major Sport fanatic. It is a glorified sport bar/restaurant, you know if you have been to the ESPN Club at the BW…you have a feeling what it is like…well besides some :drinking1 and :hyper2: and lots of  there were games…

And you know at some point some girl at the party was talking about Disney and how she was going in April…she knew she was staying on site, but didn’t know where and said they were going to go to the Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom…and when I said try to get there at rope drop for MK and head straight back to Fantasyland…she didn’t know what I meant “what is Fantasyland?”…(sorry sweetheart) I nearly fell of my seat…or was that the 2nd beer talking….whew boy now I know why me and alcohol don’t mix…. :sad2:

Anyways…so join me as we go to Scrappie’s WDW ZONE:

Enter the double doors to a very organized room w/ shelves of binders and walls of books and corners filled w/ filing cabinets as far as the eye can see. The walls are covered in Disney memorabilia and pictures of characters and children.::MickeyMo pooh: :stitch2:

The music is playing various tracks from Disney Attractions…right now we hear “ Yo Ho , Yo Ho…it’s off to Work we Go….” Oops that’s in our friend Kathy’s son’s sweet Disney Zone… ;)

You head up the main stair well and as you go up, you pass Command Central…Scrappie’s Desk w/ planning binders and the Computers set to the Disboard as “home”… :surfweb:

And you smell the distinct smell of baking…cakes to be exact. :cake:

I spent the better half of two days…yes really….going through the infamous Cake Threads here on the boards trying to do some early preliminary research about these C-A-K-E-S

And despite some really awesome looking ones like the Haunted Mansion one or a beautiful Minnie Cake and then some basic cakes that are reported to be a Sara Lee frozen Cake…for the most part the prices would be able to provoke a major migraine or heart palpitations… :faint:

There is talk of some allergy free cakes, and these treasure chest cakes in Pirate and Princess Versions…some talk of YUM! and UGH!...it’s enough to make anyone get a little cake sick…

I have somewhat come to this conclusion….

With any luck Margaret’s b-day celebration will be held at CRT and they have these lovely platters w/ a chocolate slipper and fruit and they write a “happy birthday name” on the plate in chocolate…since Margaret most likely can not participate in such glorious dessert…I think if we can just have the plate w/ fruit and her “happy birthday” message…

cindysliiperplate.jpg

that will be sweet! AND since I will be staying DVC Villa w/ a full functioning kitchen I can make her a dairy/egg/wheat/gluten free cake in the villa and we can sing another round of “happy’s” to her w/ a cake she can actually eat…

Onto Mae’s b-day…w/ any luck we will be at 1900 PF in the GF for her b-day celebration and I am thinking of ordering one of those sweet mini “wedding cakes”

miniweddingcake25809.jpg

or

minicastlecakeinpink30709.jpg

I’d love it in pink w/ little Mickey heads on it or a bow or something…and then I will bring my own fun mini cake topper from home…yet to be discovered. She will love to be presented w/ a cute cake and this just could be the hit.

You round the corner past the “bakery” and discover some more glorious food…and wonder why have we NEVER had any of this before…

I was digging around on the Disney Food Blog…and found a tempting delicious morsel of goodness that oh boy…now I will be craving for the next 8 + months….

DISNEY FUDGE!!!!!!!

Check out this link: http://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2009/11/30/disney-world-fudge-a-primer/

YUM FUN! I tell you…I am not a chocolate kinda gal…but decadent yummy flavors like

Candy cane, eggnog (for the holidays), Butterfinger, turtle, cheesecakes, caramel…(I know you are licking your lips):smooth:

Can make me go ga-ga…and DH he is no fool…bring him some good ‘ol chocolate fudge….snack credit usage warning! ::yes::

One last pit stop on this food floor belongs to POP CENTURY and their food court….

Can anyone say Tie-Dye Cheesecake? :hippie:

Can anyone say Cheesecake and Lactaid tablets…oh yes…for Scrappie that will do! HA! I love me some good cheesecake and I must get me a slice of that.

Here is another link to another BLOG entry from the Disney Food Blog…all about the POP food court…have at it! It actually looks pretty good…

Now the lights get dimmer as you head into a smaller area w/ restricted access…you need to show your insider arm band to enter

How do you get one of these bands do you wonder? Well it really isn’t that hard…just brush up on some Disney Tips ands Tricks by reading the Unofficial Guide to WDW the 2010 version…

Which I did, not to long ago…now I did not read it cover to cover, but checked out various sections and browsed through others…

What new tid-bits did I write down…some of this may not be new to me or you, but worth remembering… :listen:

*CRT ADR…hoping this won’t be some scary experience…
Tips- call about 50 sec before 7 am EST…
Have CC ready
Cell phone connection is slower
Say immediately CRT-lunch-on date…then move into pleasantries…

but I should be doing this online…but just in case I have the phone tips

*EPCOT WS QS places not to miss…I added a few more to my list
France-Boulangerie Patisserie for French Pastries (of course)
Germany- Sommerfest for bratwurst…ah can you smell it now…it smells like summer!
Japan- Yakitori House for noodle dishes, tempura and teriyaki
Plus
Norway- Kringla Bakeri Og Kafe
And FYI Sunshine Seasons in the Land has soy milk for sale...not sure if on the menu though….

*WCC at WL notes…dinner 5- 10 pm, just off atrium lobby, tables have barrel top Lazy Susan’s where the food is placed, all family style

*Character Meals ratios & noise levels…
CRT 1:26 quiet
1900 PF B 1:54, D 1:44 moderate

And this is scary…Tusker House 1:112 very loud :crowded:

*Busiest times for TS/CS…are between 11:30-2:15 pm for lunch and 6-9:00 pm for dinner. DO NOT eat between 12:30-1:30 pm and if park open late try to eat dinner around 4/4:30 pm

*AK arrival tip…arrive 40 minutes before p/o in summer & holiday and 30 minutes before rest of the year…

*AK dining tip…eat a good full breakfast, tour early, snack throughout afternoon, eat a very late lunch/dinner out of the park…OK well I guess we’ll be waking up at the crack of dawn this day…. ;)

*Schedule making tips….
-setting limits and making plans
Note wake up time and breakfast plans for each day
“rules” of when to depart for the park/activity
List of what to take w/ you into park
“policy” for splitting up and staying together
What to do if someone gets separated or lost
How long do you intend to tour in morning, what to see (want to see), including if attraction is closed or too crowded
A “policy” on snacks (OOP expenses)
A time to return to resort/rest
When will you return & how late to stay
Dinner plans
Souvenir purchases and who pays
Bedtimes

*Oh I jotted down solo touring tips too…but that is for another time…

Wow this list could keep going…..

*But I noted ride tips, Chuck Bubba Relay, Splash Mt tips, GAC tips, Buses, monorail times, Illuminations viewing spots…cause um…the QS place in Mexico…well that was a bust in ‘08

Well now that we have our insider bands it’s time to learn some Secrets:ssst:

How do you wonder? Well one way is to read the Hidden Magic of WDW…which my DS Michael is reading and one afternoon he comes up to me and says…

“Mom what does risk-cue mean?”

“What?” I say :earseek:

Show me the word…oh risqué…now my mind would have shot all over thinking….”Boy what are you reading?” but hey it is a Disney book…:rotfl2:

He was reading about Spaceship Earth in EPCOT and came to the part about the former not covered up realistic rendition of a nude female sculpture, which existed prior to the 2007 renovation…this was apparently to risqué for Disney now…

Up next at the WDW ZONE to check out is the “closet” ….oohhh….

And the first fashionable item of mention is a small man’s gray Disney logo tank top…which apparently you must be a small man to fit in….

So it will need to be sent out to Scrappie’s sister for some stitchery Magic…I hope! pixiedust:

There is a lot more at the ZONE…

More levels of fun, planning, rides, games and more…one must come back to enter again and have some fun!

Thanks for reading…

J~

Up NEXT: a February planning to–do List

Ok--now my mouth is watering and my tummy is growling after all of this food talk!!! :lmao: Thanks for all of the traveling tips!! Awesome!! :thumbsup2 And I just LOVE the Hidden Magic of WDW book!! :lovestruc What a great update--soo creative!!! :goodvibes

I wish I could hang out in your WDW Zone all day! Much more fun than heading to school! :rotfl:

As I was sitting here reading about your cake choices for Margaret and Mae (I love your choices), Charles was reading over my shoulder, and asked, "Are we going to get a cute cake like that for Chelsea?" The man is learning slowly but surely. :rotfl:

I want to LIVE in your WDW Zone!! Planning with Scrappie...always fun and informative!

I love the mini wedding cake as well as the little cake with the castle on top. Those are a little girls' dream!

That Tie Dye cheesecake really looks delicious....I am a sucker for cheesecake! I may have to pop over to POP to try some on our next trip! :rotfl: I'm still trying to convince Jeff we should head down this spring to celebrate our 40th birthdays...I'll let you know how that works out! :rolleyes1

Risk-cue! Too cute! :lmao:

That was such a fun installment, Julie. :goodvibes

You sure have done your research on cakes! I know I haven't heard great things about them (expensive and not very tasty) so I think your solutions sound wonderful. :thumbsup2

The tye-dye cheesecake at Pop is great; however, the dye, erm, exits your system in colors. :rotfl::rotfl:

Oh I love your Disney Zone Julie! My mouth is watering too!

I am a huge fudge love - I have a major sweet tooth - but I've never had fudge at Disney! :scared1: That will change this year!!

I'd love to know the character ratios & noise levels for Chef Mickey's & H&V.

I think I might get the 2010 UG :scratchin - I have a 2008 & never got a 2009.

It was really easy when I made our CRT ADR online. I would definitely give it a try! :thumbsup2

Going to go reply to your email now... sorry I've been a bit out of my zone the last few days getting myself healthy & dealing with school (PTO) stuff.
