I'm Ordering a big BLT for Thanksgiving 2010 NEW 12/3 started TR! see link

Love your update!
We had the Cinderella slipper dessert at CRT. It was great. So was the mini castle cake at 1900 Park Fare. I'm sure you can order a cake to fit your daughter's dietary needs.

Fudge and cheesecake :cloud9:

Ok--now my mouth is watering and my tummy is growling after all of this food talk!!! :lmao: Thanks for all of the traveling tips!! Awesome!! :thumbsup2 And I just LOVE the Hidden Magic of WDW book!! :lovestruc What a great update--soo creative!!! :goodvibes

thanks Becky...I was up one night just going through the Disney Food Blog after I had looked around for some dietary blogs (looking for some food helps for Margaret)

Yes I agree the Hidden Magic Book is quite fun...I am looking forward to finding some things I don't think I have ever noticed :thumbsup2

I wish I could hang out in your WDW Zone all day! Much more fun than heading to school! :rotfl:

Yes that would be nice...

As I was sitting here reading about your cake choices for Margaret and Mae (I love your choices), Charles was reading over my shoulder, and asked, "Are we going to get a cute cake like that for Chelsea?" The man is learning slowly but surely. :rotfl:

;) cute...I'm not even sure if my DH realizes how much info there is just about cakes...they figure it out eventually

I want to LIVE in your WDW Zone!! Planning with Scrappie...always fun and informative!

Aww...thanks Missy :goodvibes

I love the mini wedding cake as well as the little cake with the castle on top. Those are a little girls' dream!

I think it will be just the right bit of Magic, not too much cake and not too heavy on price

That Tie Dye cheesecake really looks delicious....I am a sucker for cheesecake! I may have to pop over to POP to try some on our next trip! :rotfl: I'm still trying to convince Jeff we should head down this spring to celebrate our 40th birthdays...I'll let you know how that works out! :rolleyes1

oohh that would be so great...hope you can go back soon!

Risk-cue! Too cute! :lmao:

Yes it was funny...

That was such a fun installment, Julie. :goodvibes

You sure have done your research on cakes! I know I haven't heard great things about them (expensive and not very tasty) so I think your solutions sound wonderful. :thumbsup2

THANKS! I'm not sure what I was planning to write and I wrote the first line and it just came to me...I like when I chuckle at myself...I figure you guys will too :rotfl:

I hope so on the cakes...I think this should work, need to go over w/ DH...but I'm sure it will be too soon to talk this stuff w/ him

Julie, what a great update, so clever! I could certainly spend a lot of time in the "WDW Zone" ;)

Thanks Liz...it's fun place to be

The tye-dye cheesecake at Pop is great; however, the dye, erm, exits your system in colors. :rotfl::rotfl:

 good to hear it's yummy...and um gross...but I'm still laughing

Oh I love your Disney Zone Julie! My mouth is watering too!

Thanks Amy!

I am a huge fudge love - I have a major sweet tooth - but I've never had fudge at Disney! :scared1: That will change this year!!

Ok glad to know we weren't the only ones...

I'd love to know the character ratios & noise levels for Chef Mickey's & H&V.

CM 1:56 loud and H&V 1:71 moderate...I think it all depends on day of week and time you dine too...I personally think CM is always full but when we did H&V in '08 we went right at the lunch start and in the begining it was just fine...but toward the end of our meal moving into 12:30 ish or little before...it was all filled up.

I think I might get the 2010 UG :scratchin - I have a 2008 & never got a 2009

see if your local libray has one...good way to catch up w/out dishing out the dough or check an see if you can get a discount on purchasing online....

It was really easy when I made our CRT ADR online. I would definitely give it a try! :thumbsup2

Yes I hope it will be easy for me too!

Going to go reply to your email now... sorry I've been a bit out of my zone the last few days getting myself healthy & dealing with school (PTO) stuff.

got it and I replied back too...

Love your update!

It does seem you can get something...but when I factor in cost and will it be good....that's when it just seems to make sense to bring down a cake mix that I have used, that everyone liked the taste of and just make a quick pan at the villa....less worries...and being 4 I don't think she'll care.

and yes I agree....desserts=:cloud9:

THANKS FOR READING ALL!!!!

Interesting... Thanks!

And good suggestion - to get the UG at the library... but what fun is it if you can't use a highlighter. :rolleyes1

Wow Julie, what a great entry! I want to hang out in your Disney Zone too!!

I've read a lot of great things about people getting special accomodations for their allergies so you might want to talk to the restaurant and see what they can whip up for Margaret. We've had the slipper dessert at 1900PF once as a treat - YUMM!

I am not ruling it out...but think my cake mix is a good back up choice...some reports I have read they were not quite sure if it was all allergy free and since she is all 4 biggies...kinda rough...like to concentrate my food efforts for her on the meals...than just 1 cake...make sense?

I figure too we can get her some soy ice cream to eat too...why not at breakfast huh? :cutie:

The cake mix is a great back up, especially since you'll have the kitchen and you know it's safe and everyone likes it. Plus, who wouldn't love a big old scoop of ice cream especially for breakfast! :goodvibes I agree that focusing on keeping meals allergy free is the priority.

Quick funny tid bit to share...I am sure as most other Disers would agree when Disney is on the brain you see little hints everywhere...

like anyone see that Office Max truck w/ the big rubberband balls on it and the 3 on the back make a perfect Hidden Mickey ?

You think that's bad...

I could've sworn that Aimee made a Hidden Mickey in the snow last night! :dog:

:thumbsup2 any clue if they would have a cake pan in the kitchen's :confused3 guess I will have to ask around on the BLT threads...otherwise I can pack a disposable one just in case...

Hello to all....

Hoping you had a romantic or loving or quiet moment w/ your loved ones yesterday on Valentine's Day!

We had our 3 yr now traditional heart shaped deep dish Lou Malnati's Pizza and Eli's heart shaped cheesecake...ah it is GOOD to live in Chicago (well the suburb's at least) :thumbsup2

and here is some AWWWW.....Scrappie's DH is such a Disney romantic...

the other day I recieved a DVC flyer in the mail and it made me think of our 2011 anniversary trip...and now thinking since we have switched gears from Spring to Fall and want to go to Epcot for the F & W Festival...maybe we should try for a Boardwalk Villa stay (studio) vs our home resort of BLT (where DH wanted to stay)...so I asked him what he thought...obviously it is quite a ways off but still it is fun to talk about ;)

his reply....sorry if this is corny to some of you...

"anywhere we stay even a Days Inn would be like staying in Cinderella's Castle...as long as we are together..." :cloud9:

and then in furthering our quick conversation about this trip... what would be my 5 reasons/goals in going...

I'm not sure this is the "trip" to rekindle that mushy, gushy romance after 15 yrs of marriage (next yr) and in the midst of raising 4 children...but DH proves me wrong by saying...

"what better place to rekindle that than at WDW where we can act like "kids" again like our trips prior to kids...." :cloud9:

gotta love it huh....

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Another fun thing going on is the OLYPMICS!!! :happytv:

please tell me there are some Olypmic fans out there...on Friday night we had our Opening Ceremonies Dinner...I try to make some food based on the host country....this yr Canada and well sorry I was not very creative this yr...even asking my friend who grew up in the Vancouver area...

but I decided to build the dinner around the Canadian Staple of MAPLE SYRUP! YUM huh?

we had pancakes...and even made Olypmic rings:

100_5099.jpg

and then while I was on the Disney Food Blog I found a reciepe from EPCOT-Canada for Maple Fudge:

:cool1:

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

the last little fun tid-bit to share before getting to my To-Do List...

is Michael's new fish...I have been meaning to share these new friends w/ you for a while now...but keep forgetting.

100_4956.jpg

He bought 3 Mickey Mouse Mallies....can you see our favorite shape? :mickeyjum

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now the Feb: To-do List...

* I want to begin typing out some of my notes from my pre-planning notebook and add to my binder/folder...of things I need to have together for the upcoming trip...

ie:

BLT/CR info

BBB/PL info

Park touring tips for the 4 parks

*Plus I want to clarify a few things concerning DVC ressie and adding on/purchasing the DDP, kids tickets and our AP's...w/ tax season upon us it would be helpful to get a better solid PRICE on the above items and can I add on/purchase any of these things in advance of arriving in particular to before Aug...when I assume pricing will go up...

I will keep you posted in my progress....

thanks for reading,

J~

Hi Julie! We had a lovely Valentine's Day! :lovestruc Tim let me drag him to see "Valentine's Day" - I thought it was really good. Tim actually thought it was pretty good too.

Love Michael's new fish!! :thumbsup2

We are Olympics fans here too... I didn't make a special meal or anything, but you can still call us fans. ;)

I love following along with your planning - you always give me so many great ideas!! I "borrowed" your planning list from last year & recently modified it for this year's trip. Pretty soon I'll be able to start posting my weekly to-do lists.

I am a TOTAL Olympics junkie!! I will watch almost any event...I'm glued to the TV from Opening Ceremonies to Closing. LOVE IT!! Glad I'm in good company!

What a great DH...corny or not, it's nice to hear!

Your DH is very sweet. It's so nice to read about a couple that still enjoys being together.

I love your Olympics themed food. Yummy!

Not sure if you mentioned this already, do you already have APs? I'm trying to figure out if we should get them. Or maybe only one of us needs an AP. Do you just get regular tickets for the kids?

Awww, that was so sweet of your DH to say that. He sounds like a keeper. ;)

Your Olympic ring pancakes and fudge look very yummy!

We are loving the Olympics at our house. We watched the Opening Ceremonies, and poor Connor, he was so looking forward to watching the torch being lit, but couldn't hold on past the Olympic president's speech. I looked over, and he was fast asleep. We missed watching it Saturday night, but last night, we were camped in front of the television for the luge, moguls, and pairs figure skating. This time, I was the one that konked out, but the kids woke me up when it was all over and filled me in about the standings. I was able to see the Chinese pair skate their wonderful short program! Connor was very excited that Canada won its first gold medal (in moguls, maybe?). He was feeling so sorry for them that they hadn't medaled at the previous two Olympics held in their country.

Tonight, hopefully, I will be able to stay awake for the pairs free skate. :rotfl:

first thank you all for excusing my horrible typing and spelling skills...

o-l-y-m-p-i-c-s duh? not o-l-y-p-m-i-c-s :sad2:

That movie looked too cute...that is so sweet! I can't even remember the last movie Matt and I saw together that wasn't a Disney or Pixar film :rotfl2: at the show...

Yes I loved that he picked those fish out...one is named Donald!

thanks Amy...that is what the Dis is all about, right? as Amy is hinting as it get's closer I will post weekly to-do lists....I love LISTS! :thumbsup2

Good to hear....we love it too...only Aldine is really into it...but I think it is great...I clearly remember watching the Olympics since I was 10!

Your DH is very sweet. It's so nice to read about a couple that still enjoys being together.

Aww...thanks! we may not enjoy every moment together but we try to remember each day we do love each other...;)

I love your Olympics themed food. Yummy!

thanks...China-summer of 08 was cool...but looking forward to London...lots to work w/ there!

Not sure if you mentioned this already, do you already have APs? I'm trying to figure out if we should get them. Or maybe only one of us needs an AP. Do you just get regular tickets for the kids?

No I do not have the AP's yet...but I am planning to just get AP's for DH and I since we will be returning w/in one yr of this upcoming trip...and then I will renew for the trips after that...

the kids I am getting 7 day PH's...

I know I can do this w/ DVC booking as we have no package...but not quite sure how it works if you book a package thru WDTC? Amy is thinking about just getting 1 AP for her self and then her kids and DH will have reg tickets...but she is off site.

I told him you said that...:thumbsup2

Yes we tivo it all cause I don't alwasy have time to watch it straight through and we can fast foward some stuf and stop for other things...

but that doesn't keep me from dozing off either....I am looking forward to seeing the free skate too...hope the sentimental China team pulls off Gold! and US can finsih in the top 10...I did not care for some of the short program scoring...

Have a good night all...

I will try and sneak some peaks at your reports later this week to catch up w/ you all too!

Aawww, what a sweet hubby. How's he feeling?

What cute fish! I hope Michael loves them!

We too are big into the Olympics, never thought to tie in food. Will have to keep that in mind for next time........

You can price out and buy your DVC APs through the member website in advance if you want. You get a voucher that you redeem at GS at either a park or DTD. I think Mousesavers will alert you to any possible price increase so you can get the kids tix thru UT before then.

Hi Julie! :goodvibes

Your hubby is very sweet. I'm really hoping Chuck will be able to join my in January so that we can have a romantic trip as well.

We love the Olympics! I've been watching pretty much non-stop. Yesterday we did a short unit study about the history of the Olympics for school and we're planning a Canadian meal this weekend - Maple Chicken, Wild Rice, and a Blueberry Cobbler. We have a book about eating your way around the world and those were the three recipes for Canada.

Love your pancakes! :thumbsup2

Aawww, what a sweet hubby. How's he feeling?

he is in alot of pain still....yesterday was real bad he said and he needed to go to Scouts w/ Michael so he was "killin" by the end....next week Tuesday is hydrocortisone shot # 2...really hope he feels some difference by then!

thank you for asking!

What cute fish! I hope Michael loves them!

he does...the tank is on his dresser so he can lay eye level to them on his mini loft bed...one is named Donald

sounds good...I posted a question on the DVC boards too...and they said the same thing about the AP voucher...I'm one who likes to have everything done and paid for in advance...:thumbsup2
