Welcome all to my first PTR! :welcome:

I will admit it...I've tried to do a trip report in the past. I mean, I had read all the greats....so how hard could it be?! On previous Disney trips, I took all of the pictures, and thought "I know other Disers who would like to see that". I was determined. And then, I failed miserably. Until now....

Let me give you the back story to my PTR title. DH and I were just in WDW for 10 WONDERFUL days! And on the last day, DH asked if I was sad that I was leaving. Yes of course...we hardcore Disney fans are always a little sad when we have to leave. But lucky for me, I knew that in a few short months, I WOULD BE BACK! You see, it all started about 2 summers ago...my mom and I were discussing going to Florida. She had agreed to go with me, and was even making it her treat! OMG...I couldn't believe it! We didn't talk about it much, and a few months later, I asked about it again, and my mom said she could't go. At the time, I didn't know why....but a few months later, I found out. My dad had been diagnosed with the beginning stages of prostate cancer. I was crushed at the news, and at that point, could care less about WDW. I only wanted my dad to get through. So, after several long months of waiting and praying, and one surgery later....my dad is CANCER FREE! :cheer2:

So, in the mean time, DH and I planned and traveled to WDW, and it was wonderful! But, towards the end of the trip, I realized that there was a bounceback add in the room. And, I had received two different PIN codes from Disney Destinations (didn't they know I was there?!) So, the thought popped into my head to see if my mom's offer still stood. Casually, I mentioned it over the phone, and she seemed interested, and said she would think about it. Hmm...:stir:. Well, a few days later, she was agreeing to go with me. And here we are now at this trip report!

Let me start by introducing the cast of characters :wave2: First there is me. Lover of all things Disney, since I first set eyes on the castle at age 4. My mom always tells me the story how on our last night in 1984, I tearfully said goodbye to the castle, and told it I would probably never see it again. Well, as you can see from my signature...this will be my 14th trip to WDW! This picture of me is from 2007, the first and only time (until now) that mom and I have done a girls trip.

And this is my mom, another Disney lover, and original Disney goer. Her first visit was in 1971! The year WDW opened! She's been smitten ever since...but not to my extent at all! This pic was taken at MCO, with one of the CMs at the Magical Express check in. He saw me taking a picture, and said "I need to get in there with mom".

We will be celebrating Mom's Birthday!

Mom and I discussed dining, and she decided on Le Cellier (one of her faves). On her last trip with my dad, I had arranged for them to have dinner at California Grill with a reservation time around the Wishes. Mom let me know how much she liked this, so I also booked us a reservation there for this trip as well. We then went with a wildcard….neither Mom nor I had ever been to Tusker House, so Mom suggested that we give it a try. I also decided (as of an hour ago), that I would like to do a pre-park breakfast at MK. DH and I always do Crystal Palace. Pooh bear is one of my faces, and the breakfast is awesome. So, when I checked online, I saw an opening at 8am. Usually I think "ugh…that's too early at Disney", but then I thought "why not, Mom is always up early!". Currently, our dining plans include:

January 31: Le Cellier 5:50
February 1: California Grill 7:35pm (Wishes at 9pm)
February 2: Crystal Palace 8:00am (pre-park opening breakfast)
Tusker House 5:00pm

Just wondering if anyone is coming along for the ride? I know PTR can kinda be boring! Guess I will have to wait and see! :coffee:

First, how awesome that your dad is cancer free!

I loved reading all of your plans... My girls and I always do girls trips, but I am the mom portion. Lol

Crystal palace before the park opens is always a must do for us. 8am is the perfect time, as you can get in there and eat, then be out right before the park opens, you'll be ahead of the game that day.

We do tusker house the same way as cp, we tried th one time for lunch, but preferred the breakfast food, so we just continue to do breakfasts.

Sorry, we have not eaten at any of the other places, so I can't comment on them. It looks like you have a great trip planned, at a fantastic resort, with free dining, doesn't get much better than that.

Looking forward to more. :)

D~
