Hi all. So here I go again. hopefully downward on the scales this time. I am currently just shy of a duece and a half. 240 BIG ONES to be exact. I usually hit this weight this time of year and am so tired of the yo yo syndrome I find myself in every winter. My goal is to be less than 200 pounds also. Last year I lost enough weight to officially be considered NOT OBESE (didnt last long). WOW that was such a great feeling and I thought if I feel this great at 215 can't wate until I get to 195 or so. I guess that will have to be my goal this year. I am a 40 year old shift worker and do alot of sitting at work. Ive been doing this type of thing for almost 20 years and now I am getting worried about the long term health impacts this sedintary life may have. I am now committing myself to a gym membership and to change some eating habits. I suppose mind set is the first thing I have to change. Then slow and steady wins the race. Wish me luck and if you have any advise for me I would appreciate your comments. thanks

P.S. TELL ME YOUR STORIES, TRIUMPHS OR CONTINUING SAGA'S ON THE ISSUE OF YOUR WEIGHT. I CAN SURE USE THE MOTIVATION. THANKS AGAIN .

YOUR HAPPY TO BE A DVC MEMBER. :

hope to be a :yay: and not a :happytv:

Good to hear from you that you are not giving up the challenge! Congratulations.

I will share one thing that has helped me. Treat your quest as a lifestyle change. Don't use the "D" word. You are right about getting your mind onboard with you. That is it! Tell yourself you are making healthy choices. Don't stress over what's gone wrong in the past. Move forward.

It is not easy to get moving. I don't really like to get up after I've gotten home from work and find my comfy spot. If you can, "schedule" yourself for your exercise/increased movement as you are scheduled to go to work each day. Don't think about whether you like it or not at this point, just get it in your routine. Later maybe you can figure out what you enjoy and how to fit that in your schedule. Now, just get some movement planned in your day.

Good luck with your trek. You CAN do this. Let us know how you progress.

Come often, post lots. Keep on keepin' on.
