How hard is it to get a date at disney for an intimate wedding? My fiance have been engaged for awhile and we decided to "just Do it". We want December 29, 2005 at the WL sunrise terrace?? (I think thats what its called)

Also, who do you call to do the add on once you have reserved your 4 day stay?? :confused3

Call Disney FTW at (407) 828-3400, Option #1 and ask if the date is available. If you sign up, you will be given over to an EM (Event Manager I think) who will walk you through the details. I would call as soon as possible (as some dates fill up quickly) You might have to adjust your date already.....

I just called and she couldnt give me an answer of whether the date is available or not... She took some info and said a coordinator will call back within 3 days to discuss options. Gosh I hope it is.

So now I guess I have to wait to see if the date is available before I do the reservations. Do I tell the coordinator that I want to do an add on and will reserve the room my self or how does that work? Thanks for helping. !!!

A sales manager (SM) will call you back within three days (it was only a day for me). After you have talked to the SM you will be able to know about the date and time. But know that you cannot do the ceremony on the same day you arrive (we wanted to but couldn't) so you should plan to be at WDW at least a day before your ceremony.

After you have made the arrangements with the SM, you should get a confirmation and then need to make a deposit. Once you have made your deposit, you will be assigned an event manager (EM) who is your coordinator. That's when you can start planning the "details".

At least, that is how it all worked for me.

I'm guessing you can tell them that you just want the add-on, but I also am guessing that you should have your room reservations (and the confirmation/reservation number) handy for them to verify. Although I'm guessing they could put a "hold" on the date and time for you (for a day or so) so you can make the reservations on your own. But I'm not super sure about that because we just booked the package. :)

::yes:: What she said...

I would talk to the SM and tell them what you are planning. That way it will help them figure your options. They might also be able to offer some suggestions (maybe even cost saving suggestions).

Worst case scenario, you tried and they might be able to find something similar...

Once again, good luck!!!!

Thanks ladies for the replies.. Im waiting on "whoever" to call back. Im afraid to book the resort in advance because if the date is taken then you cant get your money back right?? So everything is just up in the air right now. I hate this part of waiting and just not knowing.

My understanding is that you deposits on room only reservations are refundable up to a week or 10 days before. I would double check, but if that is the case, then I would mkae the reservation. DFTW will want the confrimation number from you in order to save your date/location.
Good luck and Congratulations.

If you do the package do they reserve your room for you or do you still have to DIY? I was guessing that if you did the add on you would need to do the reservation yourself ... can you stay where you want to stay and the package price stays the same?? I did a quote with dreams unlimited travel and to stay at caribbean for 4 nights is $800 for the days that we want.

My future MIL has Annual passes could she book our rooms for us and we do the add on? Sorry for all the questions .. Thanks bunches

If you are planning on doing an add on, then you reserve the rooms separate from DFTW. I used DU for my room reservation and then provided DFTW the room reservation and they were able to secure my date and place. The add-on price is less than the full pcakcage price and that is because you are not getting the lodging or the tickets with the add on.

I am not sure how it would work if you MIL booked the rooms for you.

Thanks 952lisar, Im going to go ahead and reserve the rooms just in case and hope our date is available. I can always cancel if we decide to go with the package. But, with the price of the rooms its would be about the same price and we wouldnt be getting the tickets. Thanks again Mary

Sounds like a plan. When you reserve your date/location get the prices from the SM regarding the package price and the add-on price. I know the package prices vary during different times of the year, I don't think the add on prices vary. Again Congratulations.

Since she has an annual pass, I believe your MIL could book the room for you but would have to be present when you check in. I could be wrong but I was reading up on the Annual Pass recently to see if it would be worth getting for our wedding next year and I believe that's what it said. Personally, we're doing our Intimate Wedding as an add-on because we want to use our AAA discount for the room (10% savings is better than nothing!). Best of luck! :goodvibes

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding. Please keep us posted and let us know how it all turns out. Here's wishing you lots of luck on getting your day!

thanks ladies, Im very excited! I am going to look at dresses today. I cant wait I know this will be my favorite part. Hopefully they will call today and I can get some definite answers on dates.

Please enjoy your shopping... I hope that they call soon too. The waiting is HORRIBLE!!!!!

PS, BTW, while you may think I am a stunning dark haired disney bride, I am actually a 40+ year old male who is married with a 7MO son. I am in the jewelry business (and love Disney) I keep an eye on this board in case there are any Ring Questions. I do this because I am a hopehul romantic, as my DW likes to put it.

Well the good thing about wanting Sunrise Terrace and not the Wedding Pavillion is that it isn't as popular, and thus is much easier to book! Crossing my fingers that you get it, I bet chances are pretty good!

I got my dress on Friday.. But Disney didnt call yet. Today is the 3rd day so hopefully they will call today and tell me If its available. Its so hard to just wait and wonder.

It may be hard to post, but my fingers, toes and Eyes are crossed for you!!!
