Due to some financial problems, I have had to do some things a litttle switched up. Quick story about me

I grew up as a dancer. When I graduated in '02 I weighed 120 and wore size 4 clothes. (by the way Im 5'8"). I went through a cheating fiance and lost almost 15 lbs in 2 months!!! January of '04 I weighed 125, in April I was 110 and wore size 2.
I met a wonderful guy the day after I broke up with xfiance and 8 months later we started dating. He and his room mate was always trying to get me to eat as they thought I was too skinny. So I went along trying to get back to normal. Well that plan back fired. We got engaged in November '05 and I bought my wedding dress in April of '06.
We were planning a small intimate Disney wedding December '06, but my DMIL wanted to invite all her family and didn't think it was far (meanwhile DH hadn't seen his extended family since his DB's memorial in '00!) So we had to put off the wedding to save. They offered to help alittle financially and so has my parents. But we have been unable to reach our end of the wedding bargain. So we got married in August '06 at the courthouse so we could combine income, rent and lesser taxes.
We're now planning the wedding August of '08 and I weigh 151lbs and wear between 6 and 8. It's too late to take the dress back and it cost too much to replace it, plus all my good clothes is size 4. So I want to lose 30lbs by December and keep it off until we get pregnant in like 5 years.
I run my husbands business so I spend 8-10 hours a day at a computer and by the time I get home I'm too stressed to do anything strenuous (sp?).
I need advise. I also do not have available funds to join a gym, but I have workout equipment at the clubhouse where I live (not much just a treadmill and weigh machine). I am trying to swim laps at the pool (luckily for me it's right outside my apt window so it's easy to do). Help!!!

No advice, but I just wanted to say best of luck! :)

Weocome to WISH!

Congratulations to you for all you have done and your goals! I WISH you much success and I KNOW you can do it!

First off, my best suggestion for any weight loss is to know that it is always calories in must be less than calories out (used) in order to do anything. Easy--I WISH.

I would recommend that you analyze what you are eating. The best way to do that is to write it all down--everything. There are some good web sites that will help with your analysis. They are not an exact science, you may need to estimate your exact meal, but they come close and are a great aid. Coming imediately to mind is sparkpeople.com and fitday.com

Even if increasing your activity seems impossible right now, I would recommend that you make it happen. Schedule in that up to 1 hour (or however much time you can manage) to get yourself to the pool, TM, equipment. Mix up a routine and MAKE it part of your day some way. Just as someone on our walking/running thread once advised. Put on the shoes and take one step after another until you find that you completed your workout.

Join in or start a thread here on WISH. Having yourself accountable and helping others to be accountable will make your journey more fun and you will also be helping others along the way!

Let us know what you have determined.

Come often, post lots. You can do this!

First of all, I'd like to say that 151 lbs. is not an unhealthy weight for someone who is 5'8" tall. But I know how it feels to have once been that "skinny" girl who could eat anything she wanted and stay slim. I'm 5'7" and weighed all of 106 lbs. when I got married 22 years ago. And I also can relate to wanting to get back into my "skinny" clothes instead of buying a whole new wardrobe.

Tiger Lili's advise is right on target! Keep a food journal and increase your activity. It also helps to know what your "trigger" situations are and to try to avoid them if you can. For me, it's watching TV. I like to munch when watching. So, I'm trying to read more books (can't turn pages with greasy fingers) and I'm doing cross-stitch or knitting when I do watch TV.

Take advantage of the treadmill and pool at your apartment complex. Park far away from the store when you go shopping so that you walk more. Take the stairs instead of the elevator or escalator when you have the option. Doing the little things can help a lot when you add them all up.

Good luck on your weight-loss journey! And welcome to W.I.S.H.
