First of all, hi everyone!! I've been reading the forum for a couple of weeks no but wanna join in the fun! lol

My boyfriend is taking me to DLP in December, we're going 8th - 11th. Its for christmas/anniversary. At the moment I think we're pretty set on Santa Fe as we'd rather spend the money actually in DLP than on the hotel ifyswim.

Where do you all book the eurostar and is there anyway to get the leisure select seats for cheaper on other sites or calling them up direct? Also just how cold is it in december, and do they have EMH in december too?

Thanks in advance!
Soph xx

Hi Soph,

I dont know about Eurostar, but I do like the Santa Fe hotel, and EMH are on every morning in December :goodvibes .

Welcome to the DIS!!

I book the eurostar direct with them online or over the phone...but the earlier you can book your seats the cheaper you'll get them...

Hi Soph and welcome to DLP DIS board :wave2:
We are a friendly bunch here so please join in on any other thread or if you have a number of questions then just start a new thread for each :goodvibes

If you have not had a look yet, DLP posting rules are here, DIS posting guidelines can be found here.

Have a read of some of the trip reports :) Many took thermals with them :cold:

they are the exact dates that we are going for in december (me, Dbf, DMIL, D Sis IL. other half, 2 DNP and Others halfs aunt!! :dance3:

just to give you an idea the train was £65 return for the adults (£56 for the child) - booked direct with disney on the phone the day the seats were realeased. we are stayiing at the cheyanne - room with tickets is £302 per couple and for those of us with Annual passes the room is £201 for the 3 nights! maybe we will see you there! :thumbsup2

meant to say you will need the thermals!!! :o)

I always seem to get upgraded to Lesuire Select when i buy a standard seat...not sure why lol.

Welcome to the board :)

Welcome - they are friendly bunch on here and sooo helpful (and patient) :lmao:

I *think* the eurostar is one of those things that tends to get dearer the nearer it is to your trip so it might be worth booking asap.

Do you collect NECTAR points? I ask because I know you can use them to pay towards your journey however, it doesn't take you to the Disney eurostar stop (can you tell I've never done the journey!) but it takes you to a nearby one (I believe) and you can then get a transfer train from there. I priced it up a while back and with NECTAR points it was going to be around £50 for the two of us return!

Good luck with your planning (it's half the fun!)

Thanks for the welcome!! I can't wait now. I've been looking at the eurostar and it seems we might get it a little cheaper as we are both under 25 so come under the youth category.

Has anyone stayed at The santa fe? and is it worth a bit extra money for one of the other hotels or does it not really make a difference?

and wow mrs stonfiesta!! big group you've got going!! only the 2 of us going!

How do you get an annual pass? Is it worth paying for one to get a cheaper room?

It really depends on what you're looking for in an onsite Disney hotel.

I love the Santa Fe - the rooms are clean, the beds are incredibly comfy, the reception areas are colourful, the staff are great, and you get the usual onsite hotel perks (characters around the hotel, EMH, Goofy wake-up calls, free shuttles to the parks etc).

If all you're after is a clean place to sleep and shower, the Santa Fe is great (it also has the advantage of being next door to a filling station, which stocks very reasonably priced drinks and snacks, compared to what you pay in the hotels and parks).

Did I mention I love the Santa Fe lol  ?

You'll have a wonderful time but get dressed warmly!

Just want to say WELCOME TO THE DIS!!!

Lol I was just saying earlier it'd be nice for valentines day :rotfl:

Think we'll stick with the santa fe. were planning on spending as much time as we can in the parks and seeing everything as we really only have 2 full days so a nice comfy place to sleep is all we really need. :goodvibes

Also can I get the disney express service if i book the hotel with disney and the train with eurostar, do I just book it at the same time as the hotel?

You only get it automatically if you book eurostar and disney both together through disney. (But that works out alot more ££ than doing it separate)

You can buy disney express by phoning disney though, its like £14 per person I think. :)

I'd do it if I was staying at one of the further resorts, but am SO excited about DLH that I don't have it for my upcoming trip.
