I'm Never Going to Disney Near Easter Again March 2013 TR Completed 1/3 NEW TR LINK!

We Waited How Long!?!?!?!?!

On Wednesday morning we woke up and it was COLD! I actually ended up check weather.com and saw that it was only 3 degrees warmer in Florida then in Connecticut. I took some screen shots on my phone and posted them on Instagram so all my friends make home could see that I wasnt in the warmer Florida that I was hoping for.

I got up shower and got ready for the day. We were heading to EPCOT to do another day of Flower and Garden show touring a finish up the other attractions that we missed.

We didnt have to wait long for a bus. We hopped on the bus and headed to EPCOT. When we got there the Easter crowds were really starting to show and the line to get through bag check was crazy. Once inside the park I got some pictures of this years front of the park flower and Garden show display.

The little girl who is wearing red was standing in front of me at the bag check. She was so adorable. I hope her and her family had fun, she seemed excited.

Our first stop was Soarin. On our way over I wanted to take a picture in the Middle of Disney World, I learned where this point is thanks to DisneyFreaks508s trip report. For those of you who dont know where it is its in between innovations and the land in the center of all the circles. Heres my picture:

We headed into the land, we walked by living with the land (I honestly do not like that ride, I find it extremely boring) and I was shocked to see that it had a wait time of 30 minutes.

You know epcot is busy when even living with the land has almost an hour long wait.

We hopped in the Soarin line which had a wait time of 130 minutes! The fastpasses time was to close for a dinner reservation. While we were waiting in line they kept announcing the newest wait time. The wait time got all the way a 3 hour wait! EPCOT truly what busy on that day. The majority of the time we were in line the interactive screens were down.

For lunch we headed to my favorite counter service place in EPCOT, Seasons. My mom and I discovered on it in one of our last trips. I know have to go at least once while Im there.

Seasonsinstagramed.jpg

When Im there I get chicken, yellow rice and chocolate mousse cake. Just writing this is making me crave it so badly.

After that we headed out to look at some more flowers. My favorite set will be in the next post. Which will they be?

You have confirmed many of my reasons for not going during Easter! Great shot in the center of Disney World! Hopefully I will remember this when we go!! Also, How long did you actually end up waiting to go on Soarin'? Enjoying your trip report!!

I totally agree, with the crowds I don't really want to go near any holiday. Although I don't have another trip planned being a college student it will probably be another spring break trip so hopefully it won't be to close to Easter. I believe that we ended up waiting about 2 1/2 hours for Soarin'. I was so hungry by the time we got out of lunch that I forgot to write in my notes. I'm glad you're enjoying my trip report, thanks so much for reading. :thumbsup2

Loving your TR! :thumbsup2

Thanks! I'm glad you like it!

Oh my gosh, THREE HOURS for Soarin'?!?! No thank you!! :rotfl: I am starting to see where the title of this TR comes from!

The crowds were ridiculous that week. There was a family behind us from England who had never been on Soarin' before and had to wait 2 and half hours with me. I hope they enjoyed. I like Soarin' but I'm not sure I wait that long again.

Loving ur TR so far!!

I'm glad you're enjoying it. Thanks for reading!

Holy cow, 3 hours? Man I'm spoiled going in low season all the time!

In high school I would go over my April Break. My school always did their April that we were so late that it became a low season, the last time I remember seeing Soarin' with a line that long it was right after it opened! But three hours was ridiculous, I'm sure if I'd ever wait that long again.

Flower and Garden Show & a New Version on an Old Favorite

After lunch and a 2 and half hour wait for Soarin we went to explore more of the Flower and Garden show and hit our final rides at EPCOT for the trip!

The view from the front, it was hard to take pictures from the front because they had a photo pass station so you had to be fast and get it from strange angles

This ended up being my favorite Flower and Garden show. I thought it was beautiful and Im so excited for the movie to come out, Im definitely going to see it when it comes out.

While we were walking along we saw a Mama Duck with her ducklings. I have a soft spot for the ducks at Disney :lovestruc because on one of my mom and mines last trip we saw ducks and baby ducklings in the Japan Pavilion. Now every time we go we check to see if theyre there. My mom got so excited to see that I got a picture on this trip.

We headed over to Test Track. We looked at the stand by line time and single rider time. We decide to go for the stand by line because it was only 50 minutes. If I could do it again I probably wouldnt do single rider line for one reason. With the revotation Test Track now allows you to design your car and who the rider with the best car in your car wins. If you go on the single rider line you dont get to design your car. I was lucky that the two other people in my row (a mother/daughter) were really sweet and let me pretend their car was mine as well, but it would have been fun to design my own car. Next time Ill do fast pass or stand by instead of single rider.

While I was waiting in line I tweeted:

The new test track que is so different. #testtrack #disneynerd

After leaving Test Track I bought a new bumper sticker for my future car that Im hopefully getting sometime this summer. Ill post a picture later in a souvenir post.

Our last ride while in EPCOT was another trip through time on Space Ship Earth. It was a walk on and still one my favorite.

When we got off we headed off we headed to the monorail, switch and TATC and then went to Poly. Once at Poly we headed down to the bus stop and waited for about 10 minutes for a bus to DTD. I had a little bit of Duh moment when we got on the bus because I thought I left my phone on the bench luckily the person across from me heard us talking a pointed out that it was in my hand :headache::blush::laughing:.

So, thats it for tonight. I will leave you with the question where were we eating at in DTD. It was a first for me.

Love that Monsters U display, I love Monsters!

I can't wait to see the new test track queue. I have to keep reminding myself that I have to do the normal queue to design the car.

Hi! Very happy to have found your report because we are planning a trip during my daughters spring break from college in March 2014. Also, we are a disney obsessed family too. :)

I love Monsters Inc, I'm counting down the days and searching for a moving going companion. The single rider part of the new test track queue was not all that exciting. I think that desgining a car would probably be fun though. I love your TRs and PTRs so I'm sure I'll hear about it in your next TR.

Welcome!!! I'm glad you found my TR is your planning a Spring Break trip! I hope that it can help you in some way. Thanks for reading!

I LOVED your pictures of the Easter Eggs. It's funny you remind me a bit of my daughter. She just finished her freshman year at college and she said the same thing - it was hard! We usually go to Disney in November and made plans to do so. But both our daughters were so sad - we decided to book a trip when they could go in March. So, now for the first time ever we are going twice in one year. :) I really hope that it won't be as busy as when you went...Since Easter is later next year maybe it won't be.

College was really hard, but I don't know about your daughter but I'm feeling rested and I'm ready to go back, I miss my friends and such. Hopefully it won't be as crowded, my friends and I have talked about doing a Spring Trip (most likey 2015) and I'm hoping the crowds won't be that bad because I love the weather but hate the crowds. LOL

That is great that you are feeling rested! I don't think she is yet...but she is working right now and enjoying her summer job. Also, she did switch her major so I know that she is looking forward to starting on her new major in the fall. She is also planning to apply for the DCP!!!!

I would LOVE to do the DCP, I've been reading Jess' report here on DIS. Unfortunately I probably won't be able to do it because where I got to school the education program takes about 5 years to get through but we'll see. I hope if she gets into DCP she LOVES it because it does sound amazing!

I found Jess' report a few months ago and showed it to my daughter. We both really enjoyed it! My DD did not think she would be able to do DCP either based on her major and curriculum. But she has changed majors and now it actually would compliment it. One of her teachers from high school did the DCP and she has been interested and Disney obsessed for a long time! It is one of the reasons we bought DVC - our whole family loves vacationing there! I hope that she will be able to get in. Her sister wants to try for it too. So that would be even better if they could go together!

I know it’s only been like a weeks and halfish since my last post but I feel like I have been on here in forever! I figured I’d do 2 short updates for you guys tonight. I have to finish up the day I was working on and then I will start off the next day and do I really short update. So, let’s begin…

A Downtown Disney Night

When I left off we were heading to Downtown Disney for dinner. Tonight we were eating at Captain Jack’s. It was my first time eating there, our waitress was super sweet and the food was good but it didn’t feel like a particular Disney atmospheric restaurant. For dinner that night I got chicken alfredo, which was okay, not the best I had ever had but still good. I don’t remember what either DFather or DFather’s Girlfriend got but I think they both loved it. If I remember correctly I had a chocolate cake with chocolate syrup in it and it was amazing, I would get again in a heartbeat, that was the best part of the meal.

On the way out DFather wanted to take his picture in front of the Lighthouse painting because he loves lighthouses.

Would I return to the restaurant? If somebody in my group wanted to I would but I would not plan this restaurant into my itinerary because it wasn’t my favorite.

After dinner we went and did some shopping around Downtown Disney. We spent most of our time in World of Disney. I’ll show pictures of what I bought in the end mainly because I don’t have everything on my computer. World of Disney is my favorite place to shop there so I of course took some pictures.

After World of Disney we hit a couple of the other shops. We decide to make it an early night and head back to Old Key West; I showed DFather and DFather’s girlfriend the pictures and videos I had taken during trip. And that was the end of day three and sadly were half way done with this trip report and I still don’t have a trip in the works.
