I went out without make up and now I’m in 150,000 newspapers. :earseek:

Yesterday was a really wet day, so I figured it would be a good time to get rid of a pile of stuff at the recycling centre.

Off I went in rain gear with no make up on. There were only two people at the centre, one staff, and a guy with a camera in his hand.

He introduced himself as a photographer for a national newspaper and begged me to let him take a few pictures. As he was stuck in the rain until he got a few shots, I agreed.

This has happened me before, had my picture taken by a press photographer, but not published, so I thought it would probably be the same this time.

Today however I opened the paper to find a feature on recycling, and I am the feature photo, in full glorious colour, about 4” by 4”. It is probably the most awful photo ever taken of me. DS thinks it’s funny. I’m so embarrassed. DH & DD haven’t seen it yet, they’ll give me no peace for a long time!

I am never, ever going out again without wearing make up.

Okay, that is funny!

Something similar happened to me once too. I went out, looking awful of course too, and next thing I knew there was a million watt spotlight in my face along with a newscamera and some smiling reporter asking "people on the street" some lame question. I stammered something, prayed I would not make the newsreel that night and of course, I did. I never knew so many people I know watch that news station.

Well I guess I'm lucky whenever I try to run to the store quickly without makeup I always run into someone. But not a photographer!

Oh I SO feel your pain!

My gift basket lady showed up here the other day with a photgrapher who is taking pictures for her brochures. I was not fully dressed ( if you KWIM ) and had no make up on and my hair was a mess.

I threatened her with a slow painful death if she even THOUGHT of using any of those in her brochures LOL :rotfl2: :rotfl2: She is also a good friend so I can get away with that LOL.

My MIL ran to Shop N Save one day to pick up a few things. They were there filming a commercial and guess who got in the commercial and even had a line? She had no makeup on and probaby barely combed her hair (knowing my MIL as I do!) She didn't care. The commercial ran here for quite a while and she got checks in the mail for it. That's not enough money for me to be on TV with no makeup and a bad hair day! :rotfl:

:rotfl:

Sounds like something that would happen to my mom. Years ago when she worked, she called in sick one day just to have a day to herself, she had 4 teenagers, a demanding husband and a demanding job, so who could blame her, right? Well, she doesn't really "dress" that day, doesn't do her hair or put on makeup. She decides to go shopping, sees a lot of commotion near the bank and goes by to check things out. She stops and looks into the bank to see what is going on, can't see anything and continues on her way. That evening on the news there's mom, no make up, bad hair, old blouse looking through the window just below the bullet holes of the bank that was robbed! We died laughing, she was mortified and was worried about showing up for work the next day after she called in sick. Well, it get's better. We get up the next morning, and on the front page of the newspaper is the picture of mom looking through the window with bullet holes! Her boss was good about it, he laughed and told her I suppose the next time you call in you'll be telling me you were hit by a kiddie car!

Oh my gosh! That is hilarious! Occasionally the local news comes to the pool, to report on the fun summer day. I always run and hide, I would be so mad if they got me with wet hair and in a swimsuit! :rotfl2:

I can guarantee you that if I run out to the store with no make up on, I'll run into at least 3 people I haven't seen in a while!

That's why I always put on at least a little eyeliner and/or mascara!

that happened to a friend of mine. He called out sick to work on a charter fishing boat and the next morning his picture was on the front pg of the local paper! Good thing his boss had a sense of humor!

OMG!!! I will never go out without the make-up again!!! :rotfl: I remember even putting my face on when going to the hospital to give birth when contractions were about 3 mins apart!!! :rotfl2: :earseek:

:rotfl2: That never fails. Every time I leave the house not looking my best, I end up running into someone I haven't seen in years.

I am very vain and never go out without make-up. Too Funny!

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I know what you mean. I was interviewed for my college with regard to internet learning. They put a picture of me on my college website... yes, and I do look like I am high! I had to go to a promotional thing at a local TV station, and met with Senators and all I could think about was I look high in the picture.

I need to speak to the PR person to see if they can change that picture.

*shrugs* Its just makeup. Newspaper photos arent clear enough to be able to see makeup on them anyway.
