My daughter is looking for the SW Visa 50,000 point offer for opening up a new card. My husband and I both have them, but it's been several years since we got them and I can't find anything online. Can anyone help?

We just got the chase sapphire preferred for the 50,000 bonus points. My understanding you can transfer the points at a 1:1 to your southwest miles account.

Once, I found the 50,000 offer by using Google. This was a couple of years ago, but may work at some point again. At the time, the offer on the regular webpage was for 25 or 30,000.

A good tip I got here on DIS, was for me and my husband to each get our own cards. A few years later, we each got the preferred card (closed the basic cards, I know, "bad" but we have many other cards, for decades, with high credit limits). So 200,000 points in total. MIGHT switch back to the basic card in a few years, trying again for even more points. We did have to spend a certain amount, so we staggered the applications and used the $$ on things like tuition, life insurance, DVC dues, etc, stuff we were spending $ on anyway.

They recently changed the offer to 60,000 points. Fee is $69 and you only have to spend $2,000 in the first 3 months. I already had one but DH let me sign him up. It was too good to pass up. We don't have any debt & will only buy things we would be buying anyway.

DH got the 60,000 offer. I have my own card, which we will stop using and just use his for the next year. We don't carry credit card debt either.

I'm not sure if this is the correct place to ask, but I can't figure out how to search such a specific question. We just got approved for the 60,000 mile offer. We have to spend $2,000 in the first 3 months. Do utility and mortgage payments count toward that? Thanks in advance!

Any spend will count....but I don't believe most mortgage companies take CCs.

I was referred to Plastiq for paying my mortgage by way of credit card.

They have a 60,000 point offer on the Plus card right now. If you are interested in getting the Preferred Card, message me. I believe I am still able to email a referral code that would help you get at least 40,000 points for it- maybe 50,000. I got both cards this year, and I'm about to earn the Companion Pass.

Both the Premier and the Plus have 60k public offers.
That's a fantastic deal OP! If your daughter got both cards she could easily earn the Companion Pass, which would enable one person to fly for free with her for the remainder of this year and all of next year.

I just got the card today and it states that payments made through third party vendors are treated as a cash like purchase, therefore would be considered a cash advance. I would have to pay a fee for that, as well as any fees associated with Plastiq. if I understand correctly. Has anyone done this before and not had it show up as a cash advance? I am super new to this and trying to get my bearings. Thanks!!

I have paid my mortgage the last two months with my CSR through plastiq. It was not treated as a cash advance. I did send a secure message to Chase before I paid and asked them to lower my cash advance limit to the lowest it be (was $100 for the CSR) just in case it came over as a cash advance. Plastiq charges a 2.5% fee.
