I'm late! I'm late! This TR is very late! Food & Wine 2015 COMPLETED 8/26!

Main Street Electrical Parade

In an effort to move things along PLUS give you the info I know you REALLY want...I have decided to finish this trip report in a different method. I am just going to do posts for trip highlights. For example, this one is for MSEP. As it is leaving us soon, I thought this was appropriate. Next, I will focus on just F&W posts.

One evening, we got the center spot up in the train station and were able to watch the parade and Wishes. These are my favorite shots! I didn't take many Wishes photos, as I just wanted to enjoy that part. So, here goes!

Hope you enjoyed this photo-heavy update! F&W coming next!

Food & Wine 2015 - Part 1

As mentioned in my last update, I am breaking this TR up into themes of the trip, instead of daily reports. This will get the info I want to get out there quicker and with less fluff...especially considering how long overdue I am!

If you read my previous reports, this trip was our 2nd year for the Food and Wine Festival. I created a spreadsheet I shared out on Google docs to document the booth, item, cost and personal opinion year to year. It isn't 100% accurate, but it has info on about 99% of the things we have tried. If you want to take a gander, here you go!

We did not get photos of everything we ate, but we did pretty good. Let's get started!

Australia

Grilled sweet and spicy bush berry shrimp with pineapple, peppers, onions, and snap peas - Delicious & Spicy!
Coopers Brewery Extra Strong Vintage Ale - Very strong but good!

Canada

Le Cellier” wild mushroom beef filet mignon with truffle butter sauce: Totally delish and worth the money!

Neige Premiere Apple Ice Wine & Inniskillin Vidal Icewine - no photo. The apple ice wine was not sweet and was pretty good. That Vidal Icewine is a $60 bottle of wine...and it was very sweet and we really didn't care for it.

Dominican Republic

Soufflé de yuca: Yuca soufflé topped with griddled cheese: Super yum - I mean, it's griddled cheese. How wrong can you go?
Presidente Beer: Nothing to get excited about

Farm Fresh

Loaded Mac n Cheese with Nuesk's Pepper Bacon, Cheddar Cheese and Green onions - no photo - but this was really tasty! We ended up getting 2!

Germany - easily one of our top 3 booths!

Quick story -we met a lovely couple from Austin that we have since stayed in contact with. We ended up doing an evening of F&W with them - they were so much fun and it was great to hang with some new peeps!

Schinkennudeln Pasta Gratin with Ham and Cheese - Awesome, same as last year!
Roast Bratwurst in a Pretzel Roll - Also awesome!
Apple strudel with vanilla sauce - First year trying this and it was delish!
Beer Flight - We love German beers, so this was all great for us. They are heavy, tho!

Hawaii

Kalua Pork Slider w/ Sweet & Sour Dole Pineapple Chutney & Spicy Mayo - FAVORITE F&W item! And no photo! But we got 2 because I gotta have my own of this one!

Interrupting this update for some awesome Epcot photos...

We had some good storms during this trip! And the humidity was CRAZY!

Love an empty WC in the morning - totally made YC worth the money!

And a lovely YC shot to end Part 1!

The food looks so yummy. I've never made it to Food & Wine Fest but hopefully one day I will.

Food & Wine 2015 - Part 2
OK folks, we are wrapping up this very late TR! Hopefully my last few posts will provide some good info for those of you heading to Food & Wine this year and gratuitous Disney food p**n for those of you who can't make it. Not sure if that word is allowed on the Dis...o_O:D:P

Mixology

I cannot recall the name of this one and it is nowhere in my notes! But, it was a whisky one. For those of you who haven't done of these, they are usually pretty informative and fun! It is actually where we met the Austin couple!

Japan

Spicy Hand Roll - Tuna & Salmon w/ Kazan Volcano Sauce - Fantastic just like 2014!
Peach sake gel - a little weird but not bad!

Mexico

Chilaquiles de Pollo: Corn chips layered with Seasoned chicken, queso fresco sour cream and cilantro - Good but nothing unique here.
Tequila flight - per usual!

New Zealand

Seared venison loin with wild mushroom marsala sauce and kumara dumpling - Venison was tasty and tender. Didn't really understand the dumpling - pretty flavorless.

Kim Crawford Pinot Gris - Loved and would buy a bottle!

Patagonia

Roasted Verlasso Salmon w/ Quinoa Salad and Arugula Chimchurri - Salmon was good - seemed smaller than last year. Salad served cold and I don't recall that being the case last year.

Terrazas Reserva Malbec - decent
Underraga Brut - Great!

Wine Studio

Franciscan Equilibrium White Wine, California - Very nice!
Pino Grigio - Yum!

Loved this display - really great break down!

Well, that about wraps it up! We didn't do nearly as much as we had hoped due to weather. But, it was a wonderful time and we have great memories ! I will end with some fun photos!

What a fun trip!! Looks like you guys had an amazing time! Girl, that photo of the storm at EPCOT, wow! All of the food looked so delicious at the F&W Festival, we are trying to decided whether we want to try and go for one afternoon this year. We are headed on a 3 Night cruise on the Dream for my birthday in October and are staying the night at Vero Beach the night before, but we keep seeing all of this awesome food that we have missed over the past two years and man, we really want to go. Maybe we can find a resort for that one night and eat us some food!! Great TR!! :cheer2::goodvibes:banana:

I really thought I would not get to do F&W this fall. I was so bummed, as this would be 3 years in a row for me! But, I am making a long weekend happen in November with my DSIL! PTR coming soon!

Nice on the birthday cruise! I so wish we lived further south so we could do quick trips like that! Where will that cruise take you?

I 100% vote on you adding a stop at F&W!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :drinking1
