I'm in the doghouse for riding our moped today

DD Sarah got her moped license yesterday (actually a learner's permit), but we didn't find time to dig out the beastie. This afternoon we were doing some yardwork. When we were finished, James dug the moped out of our storage shed so that Sarah could ride it. When DW Sue and James went inside, I dropped my crutches and hopped on the moped. I rolled down the driveway and, believe it or not, the engine fired up. I took off down the street and Sarah went inside to rat on me. When I got back from my ride around the block, Sue was standing in the driveway with "that" look. You guys know the one I'm talking about. I tried my best to explain that, even though the doctor told me not to drive a car while my ankle is in a cast, he didn't say anything about motorcycles or mopeds. That didn't pass muster. Sue just turned around without saying a word and went back inside the house. I handed the moped over to Sarah the snitch and proceeded to watch her drive up and down the block for 15 minutes. When she was done, she parked the moped in the shed and we finished up a little more yardwork.

The good news is that I was only in the doghouse for a couple of hours. Sue is speaking to me again. At least I think she is speaking to me. She said that she could use a couple of Long Island Iced Teas. I wonder if I'm responsible for that.

I guess I had better take her and the kids out for dinner. I wonder if she'll let me drive. :)

I am being forced to sell my motorcycle due to a knee injury and pending operation. I am not even allowed to get near the drivers seat of the car and can't get my leg bent far enough to even try and get on the bike. I am sure if I did something like that I would be in tha same boat as you but I would have gone out for alot longer to help cure the craving for a little longer hehe.

Lucky for you that you didn't crash that moped, Mr!

I think taking everyone out to dinner is the best thing :teeth:

Hope Sue, is talking to you again. But NO MORE MOPEDS!

You are lucky you didn't get one of these:

Hope you get better soon buddy. A moped is not worth a setback and a longer wait until you can get back to WDW.

:earseek: - Yardwork and a spin on the moped all in the same day. What a way to get back in there, John. You've been cooped up for way too long.

(Sue - I'd have been mad, too.)

Krista :teeth:

Glad to hear you're feeling better TC, but don't push it. Best to take the family out to dinner - and let somone else drive!

My mom broke her ankle in Dec. and her orthopedic surgeon told her that if she drove anything the police could give her a DWI.

WHAT WERE YOU THINKING?:smooth:

Glad to hear that you are feeling spunky.

Lori

John, John, John.....tsk tsk tsk

And why am I not surprised

;) :p

I would have like to have heard your reasoning if you had fallen off.

P.S. To Sue ----- HOW much longer do YOU have to put up with this LOL!! :hyper:

Debbie

:earseek: :earseek: John...sounds llike something I would do....

You go dude...just be real careful.....

Well, TC... I can understand your logic...

:rotfl:

John, you are so bad :teeth:

I have to admit, it sounds like something I would do though :moped:

:moped: at least you had fun for awhile. (and didn't break the other leg!) I'm just glad you were careful!! and yes you owe Sue dinner!

 Oh! For the love of......

:rotfl: Sooo funny but, Brian is right! You're very lucky on several accounts!!!!!!!!!

So, where'd ya go for dinner? ;)

John - shame on you - saying that in my best scolding voice

so - how was dinner and the long island ice teas?

I guess the "wild and crazy guy" part of you just busted loose! Sorry about the....busted part...pun intended. :p

Be careful!!!! ::yes::

Everyone calmed down. I tried my best to take the family out to eat, but nobody wanted to go. Honest. I made some baked potatoes while everyone else napped. We had leftovers with the potatoes. And no Long Island Iced Teas.
