My baby was baptised in the Catholic church yesterday. She is my 3rd child and last. :) Anyhow, I don't remember my other two smelling so wonderful from the oil that was placed on her head.

What is that? I think I was paying too much attention to how pretty she was in her dress. ;) Can I get it? I LOVE IT!

It was probably just olive oil scented with balsam. :)
blessed, don't forget...blessed. Hmmm, balsam oil. Where would I find that?

I've got some olive oil here and didn't think it had much of a scent. You are totally correct, it is balsam oil mixed with it. I feel kinda silly because I love the scent. :p

I'm a Lutheran minister and put a tiny drop of essential oil in the olive oil I use for the anointing in Holy Baptism. I have some cinnamon (wonderful) and bergamot (think Earl Grey tea and you've got it.)

Augsburg-Fortress is a reputable church supply house.

Funny you should say this....I was just nuzzling my new nephew this weekend at his baptism and breathing him in as much as I could....didn't know if it was the oil or baby envy.

I also love the smell of funeral incense (sp?).....Donna Karan's "Chaos" smells exactly like it!

I love all the "bells and smells" of church!

I am really big with oils. Wherever there's a place that sells oils (for burning, baptism or otherwise) I can't just walk by. I have to stop and smell.
