I'm hoping to one day be lucky enough to stay at VWL. I was just curious. The pool that you had a view of looks pretty small. Is it the main pool, or a quiet pool? Is it bigger then it looked from the window?

That pool in the pic is the "quiet pool". There is another bigger pool off of the main lodge area.

We had #2519 in December about a week before Christmas last year and it was awesome!! Best room we've ever had in all of our opinions! Yes the kitchen was a tad bit smaller, but I didn't notice any less room in the master bedroom. We had six of us, 2 adults and the rest teenagers and ate in our villa just about all dinners - plenty of room!! And........that little window in the living room that looked out to the villa pool was the perfect spot for my little decorated Christmas tree that we brought with us!! Loved it!

Actually, OKW still has a special place in my heart, but we were lucky enough to get room 5519 at the WLV last week and we loved it!

We are staying at VWL for the first time the week of Oct. 25th this year. Thanks so much for the pictures. I have contacted the CMs and have had a note put on for this room if possible.

There are only 4 rooms with that layout/view at VWL. All are dedicated 2BR, if that makes a difference. But the odds of getting one of them are not all that good in general. No harm in asking, but I wouldn't book there really hoping for one of them.

Ahh, the coveted atrium rooms. I requested one as soon as MS opened, 11 months to the day from my arrival date...didn't get it.

Just had to post since VWL is our "first" DVC home and our absolute favorite.......we've stayed in everything from a studio to dedicated 2 bdrms there and love them all!! Our VWL visits are usually in Dec or Jan......however, we were torn for our upcoming trip the first week of Jan 2010 and we did decide to stay at BLT for this trip.......we've been watching the building go up on every trip over the last 2 years and decided we should stay there now since once it's completely sold it probably will be more difficult to get at the 7 month window.
katmittens.......I notice you're from NE PA also........we're halfway between WilkesBarre/Scranton .......are you close to either? We'll be at BLT the same week you're at VWL......small world, isn't it?

I'm sure that like other Disney hotels, room numbers are not assigned until about a week before arrival. The person (or program?) assigning rooms doesn't care when you booked or when you put a request on your reservation. Booking/making a request at two months vs eleven months won't affect your chances of filling a request.

DonnaL I live north of Scranton so we are neighbors. We are leaving Dec 30 or 31 and will arrive Jan 1 for 7 nites. We drive down for every trip.
