I'm hoping we get the room we requested.

I'm so nervous about not getting a view at the Grand Californian. We've requested a grizzly river rapids view and paid for a premium view room. We also need two rooms linked together. I've requested these things when I booked and I just rang to make sure everything was in order and the requests are still there. Is there anything else I can do to make sure we get a good view or do I just have to leave it to all to fairy dust?

I think it may be a problem because we are arriving on Friday the 25th so the hotel will probably be full already and all the good rooms taken up I'll be so sad if we get a view of the car park. Maybe I just need to expect the worst but hope for the best.

You need to call the GCH pre-registration number first thing in the morning on the day you are going to arrive. (I mean like, 8:00 a.m.) They will assign your rooms right then, or, if they have already been assigned, you may be able to change them if your requests were not fulfilled.

I don't have the # in front of me at the moment but I know it has been posted before, so search the forum or you can call the Disney reservations # and they will give you the phone number..

I have faxed the GCH a week prior to our arrival and a few days before as a follow up. Their number is (714) 300-7300. I just write a nice little cover letter with my reservation number and a polite request for whatever I need. I have always gotten my preferred room type.

Of course, it wouldn't hurt to call the day you are set to check in as well. Have fun, I love the GCH!

I have never called this number, but usually check in before 8:00AM

Early check in can help, and make it very clear that the view is very important to you -- even if that means waiting longer for your room.

The confirmation documents I have received say to call 2 hours before arrival, but it does not hurt to call earlier. Unfortunately, you will not be told your actual room number until the room is cleaned and ready. Registration will generally tell you the general area and the floor

I had a room over the entrance to DCA from the hotel, we could see part of the rapids. Problem was we were on the 4th or 5th floor and most of the view was the top of trees.
