Okay, here is a personal suggestion for those that want to have a nice dinner (or lunch), maybe a drink and then play games afterwards !!!
Dave and Buster's
Now, I am not a big fan of games at Chuck E Cheese parlors, or Reno or Vegas Circus Circus....I get ansy and cheap and restless and just cannot hang around too long. BUT, we went here last night (Friday). WAS planning on going here tonight, but dsil really wanted to go. It was fine with me, one night or the other....So, we headed to the Ward Shopping Center. It is on the "other" side of the Ala Moana Mall. Seriously, take the kids or just the two of you and grab a taxi to come here. We had a lovely dinner. Even tried a drink (after daughter's begging

).....
Scooby Snack
well, I think the restaraunt played around with the recipe, but generally, same. I told dd, you don't like bananas....why would you want to try this?
"someone told me you don't taste the bananas"....she was wrong. I thought the drink was tasty!!!! but she was not interested. Thank goodness it was happy hour.
Before we were to head upstairs, I ordered a chocolate martini!

I am not a drinker. One drink every two years? haaaaa, so I tasted this and whooosh,,,, the vodka sure hit me, but then it was fine afterwards! heeee

I wanted to now order a double! It was so tasty!!!!!

----There is a restaraunt downstairs, with bar...and the atmosphere is very relaxed, casual and quieter than eating upstairs. You could eat upstairs amongst the gaming area, but you must be prepared to talk loudly to hear one another.
There is another bar upstairs too (tvs to watch boxing, or whatever).....
Real nice. I kind of hung around ......watch dd and dsil do their games. I eventually bought myself a swipe card to play. DD and self sat at this horse racing area. It's hard to describe, but it is just the coolest thing. You can "create" your horse, name it, feed it, train it, get it ready for a race, once it is ready, you then race and compete with other players ....I noticed some "professionals" hanging around! You receive a card that respresents your horse and its experience stays with you. These people had MANY cards in their "card wallet"!!!!! they had tons of cards! and they come back all the time dd said..... Too funny. You pay to play, but you don't 'get' anything back , tickets or whatever. Don't know why they do it, but, oh well. It was fun to sit and relax.
Dave and Buster's is situated right smack next to the theatre. We then went over to see a movie.
AFter the movie, we went BACK to Dave and Buster's for some more games. It was a fun night.
This place if full of kids....playing away along side adults. It is not a seedy place, but fun for ALL

I could be wrong, but I have a feeling that mostly locals go here....military families....college....lots of families....
I highly recomend Dave and Busters for a night of fun activities and maybe slip in a movie!
