I'm heading to Texas from 3/17 to 3/22 -- who wants to meet up?

I'm not sure what our schedule looks like yet on the 20th. We might be able to make a quick hop up to Fiesta Texas that day. (We live approx 90 minutes north of there). I'll check with Mandy.

OK, we've got a few meets going on:

Wed., 3/17
Six Flags Astroworld
Meet 10 am inside the main gates

Thurs., 3/18
Six Flags Over Texas
Meet 12 noon at the Mexican restaurant to the right of the main gates

Any suggestions for a DFW meet? How far away is Arlington from DFW? If it's not too far away, I'd meet up with some people.

Anyone else can meet up?

Psst...the Mexican restaurant is to the LEFT of the park entrance at SFOT. Barry, just pretend you are in the World Showcase...Mexico is to the left. :teeth:

Ok, now I'm bummed. I got myself wanting a frozen Margarita from the cantina in Epcot.

Arlington is between Dallas and Ft. Worth, being just a bit closer to the Ft. Worth side.

Sorry...I will look for the old lady with two young women. :)

Wait...Mexico is on the right if you enter through the International Gateway! Perhaps you can use a Universal Orlando frame of reference next time. :)

So why don't we meet in Arlington since it is halfway? Anyone got any ideas on where to meet? FYI...Six Flags Over Texas is open until 10 pm on Friday (hint, hint... :) ).

What about SA? Do you have any plans yet? I live about 5 minutes from Fiesta Texas and 10 or so from Sea World. I'll keep checking your posts.

I'm still trying to assemble some warm bodies for San Antonio. We might have a meet there too. Stay tuned....

Count me in for Arlington . Iam up the freeway about 5 min .

Any ideas for a night meet in Arlington on Friday?

If you are looking for me, look for a tall Asian guy with a Florida Coaster Club t-shirt and a lime green DIS fanny pack.

There are lots of restaurants over there. What time are you thinking for the night meet in Arlington?

Isn't this more appropriate for the DISMeets board?????

just a question.

I did post a similar post on the DIS Meets board, but no one responded!

For those in DFW area, how about a meet at Dave and Busters around 7:30 or 8 pm? I can leave SFOT around 6 or so, spruce up at the hotel, and then head to the place. I've heard so much about Dave & Busters, but I've never been. So how about it? :)

Barry - Do you know where you are staying? Just curious as to what part of town you'll be in because the DFW metroplex is quite large and spread out.

I looked at the Dave and Buster's site. There are 3 locations over on the Dallas side of the metroplex and none on the Fort Worth side. The most centrally located is the I-35 (aka Stemmons freeway) and Walnut Hill location (10727 COMPOSITE DR DALLAS, TX) and it is about 20 miles from Six Flags. Not the newest or nicest part of town, but the Dave and Busters is nice.

It's about a 40 mile drive for me, but I'm willing to come if that's where you want to go - it's your vacation :). Hopefully DH will come with me. He actually works near there.

Any other ideas on where to meet in the DFW area that might be more centrally located?

Six Flags is pretty centrally located within the Metroplex. As far as chains around Six Flags there is an On The Border, Chili's, Cheddars, Macaroni Grill, Pappadeaux (cajun food), Pappasito's, Joe's Crab Shack. I looked at the Texas Ranger's website and there is a new restaurant scheduled to open up at the Ballpark on the 17th. The ballpark is right by Six Flags. There is no game that night, so that is a possibility, too. What sounds good? We're talking the night of the 19th, right?

We are talking about 3/19.

Any other ideas? The ballpark might be good. Can we run on the field and play a game of baseball too? :)

Boy, I sure wish I could join all of you, but that week just won't work for me. Oh well, maybe next time!

Let's do the All American Cafe at the Texas Rangers ballpark on Friday, 3/19 at 7:30 pm. How does that sound to everyone?

DH and I will be there. For those of you who are familiar with the Ballpark at Arlington - the Rawlings All American Grille is scheduled to open next Wednesday in the spot where the TGI Fridays used to be. For those of you who haven't been there - I believe it is upstairs in the south end of the ballpark.

I'll be in Gilmer that weekend offroading, I grew up in Arlington, after high school I even worked for the Texas Rangers on the grounds crew in the old stadium :) Like the others have said, there are lots of places to meet around Six Flags, Dave and Busters is cool, but all in Dallas or Frisco. I hope everyone has fun, I'll be trying to tear up my Jeep ;)
