I went in for my ultrasound this morning, and this baby is clearly a boy. So Jacob will have a brother who is about 19 months younger than he is. Everything else looked good on the ultrasound, too. I have some health problems that make pregnancy a little more problematic than "average," but everything is perfect so far.
On a less-than-perfect note, Jacob has strep throat. He wasn't acting quite like himself when we went to the doctor this morning, but DH and I both thought he was teething, and all the nurses at the OB's office agreed with me. But he started to act sicker as the day went on, so I took him into the doctor. The doctor didn't think he looked that bad, either, but there were some spots on his throat, so he cultured it, telling me that he didn't expect it to be positive. He was very surprised when it did come back positive and told me I have good mommy instincts.
So Jacob is taking amoxicillin now, which is the first medicine he has ever taken. I bought a bottle of Tylenol, too, but he's acting like he feels fine now, so I haven't given that to him yet.
