Big screen TV delivery. 200 pound TV. And they not only deliver it but hook up your whole home theater. I figure it is a 30 - 45 minute stop....$15 each sounds right to me.

Debate among yourselves. :rotfl:

I'd round up to $20 I think.

We just had some guys deliver some furniture for my oldest son's bedroom. It was pretty heavy, we gave him a twenty.

For what it's worth...I think you are doing the right thing.

First floor... :)

I would pay dearly for someone to hook up a surround sound system for me!! DH and I are hopeless at stuff like that!

We once made lunch (hot subs) for 2 furniture delivery guys b/c they helped carry the old stuff out!

I'd tip too -- I don't want to stop you! Growing up, my parents tipped all deliverymen. We even tipped the doorman when he held a package for us.

i agree 20 per person....

Oh, no, we didn't tip when we had a dryer delivered a few days ago. Thanks for making me feel bad!!! :rotfl:

i have to agree with the OP here -always tip

Actually I am just poking fun at all the tipping debates here on the DIS. But I will be tipping.... but now they are 45 minutes late. :rolleyes1

I seen you were looking at LCDs and Plasmas, what TV did you end up getting?

I don't think it's necessary to tip them either. I certainly won't try to talk you out of it, but I think they're paid a descent hourly or salary rate. We're not talking server wages here.

Great that you will be tipping them. I also think it's great that you got this TV for your daughters!!!! Barney will look fabulous on the big screen!!!! :rotfl:

I only tip under unusual circumstances for delivery services. In the instance above with my son's furniture, the stuff was very heavy and they were delivering it in pouring down rain. The weekend before that I had a mattress delivered, they did it in 10 minutes. I did not tip that time. It really depends on the circumstances and the time they spent on the job.

Back to $15.00

i hate when they are late

Yes, I would tip them for that. Carrying it in? Probably not. But hooking it up for me at least deserves something.
