We are finally getting a DVC through the Timeshare Store. I am getting for a surprise for DH and am so excited! Jason said it would take about 7 weeks to go through! Wow this is so exciting. So I will have some points to rent out that we won't be able to use as I am having surgery this summer, will get to that in time. I need to breathe and think Disney will refuse this and we will get it. How long does that process take? I was going to have just my name put on it as a surprise for DH, do you all suggest I have his name put on right from the beginning? Or should I wait until Christmas when I give it to him? Does it cost to have a name added? I am sure there will be more questions hope I don't drive you all nuts! :wizard:

Congratulations, I hope all works out well!

If you want to have his name on the deed, I think it is probably best to do it from the beginning. Since it is a legal document, I don't think you can just add his name later with a simple phone call. Some one else will probably be able to explain it better than I can. Have you asked Jason how his name could be added?

Again, Congratulations.

We bought a resale last spring. I recall the whole thing took about 4-6 weeks.

The paperwork is an actual deed, which is actually filed in the county records. It would be easiest to have him sign the deed at the time of purchase, otherwise you will be left having to get another deed prepared and signed to "transfer" it from solely you to you and your husband together. You may also want to consider that there may be filing fees and transfer fees if you decide to add his name to the deed at a later date.

Congrats, and good luck on going through ROFR,

Chris
