im gonna barf - just spoke w/bank to begin refinancing

Oh my gosh I dont feel well. DH & I just told bank to go ahead w/credit ap, appraisal, etc. We are going to 15yr from 30yr (9yr already paid off that). Took out extra 5K for painting, etc.
About $85 more per month.

Yup - Anytime I talk about letting go of my money I get nervous. So its a good thing? Thanks for the reassurance, much appreciated.

I got that way when I refi'd my second, the rate was great and the payments were $75 vs $416, but until I signed the papers, I was a nervous wreck. Take a deep breath, it'll be fine.

We did the same thing went from 30 to 15 year mortgage. It's a <b>good</b> thing. You'll be alright sweetie, it's just a little nerve wracking working with banks.

Lets put it this way...if you can go from a 30yr to a 15yr and you got 5000 grand out for only an extra 85 a month...I am going to cry because that our payment will GO UP almost that much per month for NOTHING.
And yes we will be refinancing.

We had only 10 years left on our mortgage when we decided (based on the advice of our financial advisor) to go back to a 30 year loan. We were killing ourselves to make the loan payments and by refinancing, we were able to put more money into investments. In retrospect, I wish that we would have kept our shorter mortgage.

Be happy, I couldn't even get in touch with our mortgage company to refinance. I sent emails and was sent a form letter with a phone # and couldn't get thru with the number
