I just had a couple of crappy weaks at work and was thinking I needed to go away for a quick Birthday trip. My B-Day is May 15th and have always wanted to be in WDW on or around then.

Just for kicks I checked Travelocity for flights/deals to Vegas, LA, NY, and other places including an Alaska cruise and found all the prices way to high (IMHO). I didn't check Orlando at first because we just got back on Mar 9th from a great trip.

So for a joke I punched in Orlando, May, flexible dates, and up came a great flight deal from Northwest. Next I checked what was available in the DVC resorts, which was nothing for pretty much all of May. So I checked for an AP rate and got one at ASMU. Next came car rental, which was a little weird because Alamo.ca was cheaper then Alamo.com but I got a good deal there too! We don't need tickets as we already have AP's for WDW and US/IoA, so all we need is food money.

So we booked today for May 4th -13th staying at ASMU, a rental car, and flights from Saskatoon for less than a 4 night package to Vegas. I know it's not on my birthday but hey, it's close enough.

It's time to start packing, calling for ADR's, organizing the drop-off of my OL, and keep checking for a better deal on hotel, and car. I leave in 21 days:cool1:

Enjoy the trip. Sounds like you use a break.
Be sure to check out some of the new attractions at the parks.
Monster Inc. Laugh Floor at MK.

The Seas with Nemo and Friends at EPCOT.

There area more new and updated attractions than those listed above.

Ahhh enjoy - we went last year at that time for my birthday and my ds' 13th birthday and had an amazing time.
Sigh.... no trips planned to DW in the near future for me BUT I think I've convinced dh that we need to go to DL next March break :cool1:

I am taking my 3 yr old for my birthday on May 17th - 22nd. My birthday is on May 16Th :thumbsup2
Enjoy... and get a birthday button from guest services at the park!!!

update #1

After futher seaching, I've decided on doing a split stay. 1st - 4 nights at ASMusic, 2nd - 3 nights at RPH @US/IoA, 3rd - 2 nights at the AKL. I know it's alot of moving but I got an amazing AP rate at the RPH for the 3 nights and I really want to stay at the AKL again. The nights at ASMusic just make the rest of the trip affordable.

I'm really looking forward to FOTL at the 2 Universal parks and trying some of the restaurants at CityWalk. Any suggestions would be great as we normally stay and eat at Disney.

I hope there is an AP preview while we are there but if not I be happy with the new Toy Story Mania AP preview on the 10th-12th.

Also, big news for me. My better half said that she'll go on the water rides at IoA now that we are staying RPH, she doesn't like being soaked for very long.
