Great news, hope you enjoy the concert. I went to the Ice Palace in Tampa to see a Wrestling event in November 2000, and thought the venue was absolutely fantastic. Just a word of warning though, take a fleece or sweatshirt as it was very chilly inside for the first couple of hours, and the steps in the arena to the seating were a bit slippy at first. This was proably something to do with the fact that for most of the time the arena is an ice rink for the local NHL Hockey Team, and probably the air temperatures vary quite a lot when changed over for a concert type event.
Thanks for that, Nigel. This is a really stupid question, but is there parking? I'm sure there must be as the place is home to NHL's Tampa Bay Lightning and looks enormous, but it would be useful to know for sure.
Fantastic Debbie !!!! As you know, I won't go anywhere near that ride again but I'd love to see them live ( without being turned upside down hundreds of feet in the air )
There is a large multi-storey car par immediately adjacent to the Ice Palace, which I thing is the best option. There are also areas of open land near the arena which are used as temporary car parks, but at first sight they didn't look too inviting. Make sure you have a good map of the location of the arena as it is in the middle of an area where development is slowly taking place, and on approach from the Orlando direction, first impressions may be that you have taken a wrong turning into an industrial area. This was 2 years ago, so things may have changed somewhat. The roads are well signposted, so just stick with it.
After the event, be careful as a number of roads adjacent to the Ice Palace are closed and traffic may be diverted the wrong way down one way streets in an effort to get traffic away quickly.
I hope the above is of use, and hasn't put you off in any way. Just get a good map, and if you get lost, find a well-lit area and ask for directions.
If you need further information, don't hesitate to ask!
