I'm Going to have the most AWESOME Disney Moment to Scrapbook....

DH and myself have had this adult only trip (next week) to the "WORLD" planned since April....no parks, just pools, spa and relaxation. Well, he recently learned that he had won a trip (through his job) to St. Thomas in November - which will also be an adult-only trip. So, on Saturday we started talking about our upcoming Florida trip and he suggested that I call the airline and add on two more tickets - for Kevin (14) and Kelli (10). What was once a planned week of total relaxation has now become a week of parks, water parks, character meals and STRESS!!! Oh well...we can relax in November - right???

We haven't told them...in fact this is going to be a wonderful surprise for both of them and I'm about to bust!!! We've decided how we're going to tell them.....

Their older sister, Carrie (who they were going to stay with) is going to call and tell them that her and her husband are going to take them to Great America on the day we leave. They will need to get up EARLY, get dressed and ride along while Chrissie (another sister) takes mom and dad to the airport. After dropping off mom and dad, Chrissie will drop them off at Carrie's home and they'll get on the road to Chicago and Great America.

That's what they'll believe the plan to be.

Instead...when we pull up in front of the airport and take our luggage out, they'll start to kiss us good bye and we'll tell them to kiss Chrissie good bye because they're going with us to DISNEYWORLD!!! I can hardly wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'll start my scrapbook with pictures of us standing in front of the airport - right after we've told them!!!

Patty, that sounds like a great way to surprise them! I'm sorry you had your adults-only trip messed up (I love those trips!) but of course you'll have a great time with your kiddoes in tow! Please show us the layout when you get it done!

Ohhh I can understand your anticipation and excitement!! We are doing the same thing with our son, we have our trip all planned and he does not have a clue!! He has always said that he wishes he could wake up one day and have us tell him we are going to disney! So we are going to do exactly that, on the morning we leave we are going to wake him and tell him we are off to the world!! I will have my camera and video camera ready to catch the reaction-ohhh I can't wait! Let us know how your surprise goes!

When we went 2 years ago I took pictures when the kids opened gifts and had to guess where we were going. I used those photos as the first pages in our scrapbook and I think it's a great way to begin an album. COngratulations and have fun for us while you're there!!!

How exciting! I can see you're heading already - Great America? No, It's WDW!

After being at GA on Saturday, trust me, they are definitely getting a better deal! But you already knew that!

Wish I could surprise my kids, but DH and I get way too excited! We start planning 11 months ahead! Oh well, at least I'll get to surprise our au pair with a "treat" on her b-day when we're there next month.
