I'm going to Disneyland Paris soon!

I alwasy like to visit the petrol station within walking distance of the Santa Fe hotel to get a sandwich (still expensive but less than disney!)

Well up to now, you have been advised for the great sandwiches at a petrol station..............kinda says it all really.

If you have been to either WDW or DL California, Paris can be an utter hollow experience.

My brother went and he enjoyed it ( never been to USA)

I went for for 4 days on a conference (after being to Anaheim and Florida) and spent most of my time comparing it to how it would have been done better in the USA.

If we can't afford to go to the USA, we would not go to Paris. Disney is more than just standing in line to do a ride, even if it is the same ride on a different continent.

But please have a great trip, dont listen to me, I am just and old francophobe.

Best wishes Varkie

ps, they should have built the park in southern spain

they were gonna build it in barcelona but chose paris instead.

and i've been to disneyworld, disneyland california and disneyland paris. i personally prefer disneyland paris to disneyland california as there's more to do and i think it's just better.

:goodvibes

Have a great time hun. I'm off there in 8 days.

At 4pm in the Disneyland hotel the characters do a little dance with the children, its a great way to meet the characters without a huge scrum.

:yay: i can't wait!

anyone got any tips or anything to share?

Basically, it's just like the Magic Kingdom at WDW, except whereas you have American hospitality and friendliness in Florida, at DLP you have the French equivalent, whatever that may be.:joker:

Enjoy!

;)

We went to Disneyland Paris first a few times before going to Florida and I love it there, in fact I prefer a few of the rides in Paris as obviously they were built a few years after the originals and therefore updated, I prefer space mountain in Paris, the aerosmith ride is also better in Paris the others are basically the same as I remember.....Just try not to compare them and have a great time.

Cath :)

Hey there, DPE. We have a forum dedicated to DLP, so I'm going to pop you over there.

I hope you have a truly fabulous time. :goodvibes

I can't believe so many people have been so negative?!? We went last week and had a fantastic time. I just wish we could afford to plan another trip.

I guess my tips would be...

If you are staying in a Disney hotel take advantage of the Extra Magic Hours in the morning as the queues are minimal and you can alomost 'walk' straight onto the rides.

Pick up the leaflets as you go into the Parks for a Guide Map and also Weekly Plan for shows, meet n greets etc and plan your days around what you really want to do

We found as much to do in the Studios as in the Park so make enough time to do both. The Motor Stunts Show was enjoyed by all ages.

Most of the charcters appear in the Studios am and over lunch rather than in the Park. If staying at a Disney Hotel check which characters will be appearing from 7.30 onwards as often it's a smaller queue there.

Do a character meal - we did the Princess meal which although expensive was worth every penny (or pound!)

Use Fast Passes. But if you want to go on Coasts Crusher (sp?) then run into the Studios as soon as it opens and queue. By 10.15am the queue was 2 hrs long and stayed over 1.5 hours all day!

Take some snacks with you because everything costs a fortune in the Park

I'm sure I'll think of loads more but those come to mind at the mo :) Have a great time

I have been to DLRP 3 times over seven years and recently returned from a family holiday in Orlando and my favourite is DLRP. I loved WDW Orlando but Paris has many features that far outshine Orlando. I will be returning to DLRP in December (yey)
WDW Orlando is massive and can only be navigated by car if you intended to see all 4 main parks there. Paris is easy walking distance for the hotels, Disney village and the 2 parks for most people. The rides are a tad bit better in Paris, probably because they are a lot newer.
American hospitality was fantastic and Paris is not far behind.
Use the fast pass system and extra magic hours as much as possible. Try not to crisscross the parks and decide which rides and attractions you definitely would like to try and plan around this.
Make the most of your breakfast. If you have a buffet breakfast, great, fill up!
Try and take some bottled drinks and snack bars. We will be trying this for the first time this trip.
The best tip that my husband has taught me is set an amount per day to spend, stick to it as much as possible and have a blow out on the last day. We had loads of cash left over for our WDW Orlando hol and had difficulty spending it.
But mostly, enjoy.
:santa:
