I'm going to Disney World- and my husband's actually going with me!

My husband has never been to Disney World. He does not care for Disney as a company, and has had no desire to visit. I had pretty much resigned myself to the fact that we would never go there together, and that even after we had kids I would have to take them there by myself.

Imagine my surprise to come back from being out of town to find out that he has decided to start a Disney vacation fund. We paid off some large bills recently, and we'll be taking some of that excess and putting it towards an October 2014 trip. I've never been in the fall, and the week we're planning on going will fall on our 5th wedding anniversary. It will be my first time planning a Disney trip on my own, and I can't wait. One fun, yet romantic second honeymoon coming up! :cloud9:

I could have written your post, only about my In Laws. Something must have snapped in their brains this year, because they booked a resort near Disney and told me to have at it for our family trip. I was speechless. And grateful. Bringing newbies who are synical as well as older and set in their ways to Disney for the first time is going to take some patience and careful planning!

Thanks all!

That's fantastic that your family decided to go as well. I'm going to make sure we get to do everything that I love, but I definitely want to plan with my husband in mind as well. I've already told him I won't make him ride It's a Small World. :) His only request so far: to take our time. He has no problem getting up early for park opening, but he doesn't want to be running from ride to ride all day either. After taking my last couple of trips with large commando-style groups and small children, I think I can stand that.
